Chapter 336: One Against Two
The Voodoo Sect, also known as "Voodoo," is fundamentally different from the True God Church of the Old Continent or the Primitive Shamanism of the New Continent, in that this faith is built on fear!
Originating from Benin on the Southern Continent, it evolved from the primitive religion brought by Anuma Slaves sold to the New Continent, and then further branched out.
With its base on Saint Domingo Island in the "Golden Sea," the Voodoo Sect has had a significant influence among various ethnic groups in the central and southern parts of the New Continent due to the flourishing slave trade.
The central idea of "Voodoo" is the belief that all life is interconnected and that matter also has its spiritual form, allowing people to travel between the material and spiritual worlds.
All existing things in the world are merely appearances, with more important soul forces acting behind them. The leader of that spiritual world is a divine spirit named Ligba, known to followers as the "Great Lord."
There are also various other divine spirits in charge of death, fertility, love, jealousy, and revenge, but they are all just different aspects of the "Great Lord." All gods and all things belong to the Great Lord, while Wizards serve as mediums for communication between humans and gods.
Those who believe in the "Voodoo Sect" and follow the instructions of Wizards can avoid harm from "spirits"!
The most representative types of magic in Voodoo are the Reanimated Corpse, Mysterious Spirit, and Voodoo Doll.
The "Voodoo Doll" comes in many varieties, much like the various Protective Talismans popular in the Old Continent.
In the most basic color classification: black is used for curses; green is for money, luck, and gambling; pink is for love; red is for success, allure, and happiness; white is for detoxification and healing; yellow is for exorcism and invoking power.
Among all "Voodoo Dolls," the most potent, or those truly possessing Extraordinary Power, are the "True Voodoo Dolls."
They involve forcibly severing the head of a living person possessing great "evil" power, and then placing it on an iron altar, where Wizards cast a spell to imprison the victim's soul in their head.
Finally, using the "Shrinking Head Technique," the head is shrunk into a true Voodoo Doll with arms and legs, capable of fighting, killing, casting spells, and cursing.
From the outside, these dolls appear similar to those made from paper, wax, cloth, hay, and the like, but only Wizards know how terrifying they truly are.
These Voodoo Dolls not only provide the Host with great power, but they also retain the original owner's strongest abilities, allowing the Host to effortlessly acquire skills others have honed for a lifetime.
However.
If the "Evil Spirit" imprisoned in the Voodoo Doll does not receive life sacrifices, it will escape to hell; therefore, a life and flesh sacrifice must be made periodically to worship this "True Voodoo Doll."
The "Ghoul" Moplati is a devoted believer in the Voodoo Sect and a Warrior serving the God of Fire and Iron Politics and War, Ogun.
He has already used the core ability of the [Spiritual Warrior], activating the "Summoning" with the Voodoo Doll as the medium!
Beside him, the changes in the "Butcher" Marlori are also significant. Without another word, he has already activated his strongest [Sessi Scimitar Technique: Secret Technique: Blood Tears!]
His eyes were bloodshot, and the bullet holes that covered his body were once again torn open, with a dense red mist of blood filling his surroundings.
"Huff... huff..."
Fuelled by alcohol, his breathing is heavy, head slightly bowed, arms hanging limply, like a drunken long-armed ape.
The posture with which he leapt toward the ship was extraordinarily awkward.
However.
Boom——!
Boom——!
After two resounding booms.
Two "monstrous" figures have already skipped across the sea, flying out one after the other.
A cloak gently landed on the deck.
A dark shadow flashed forward like lightning, shattering the sea's surface in pursuit.
Bang! Bang! Bang!...
Carrying a bright gleaming edge, the slender, well-proportioned figure turned into a bolt that swiftly flew over the sea, the fierce wind stirring his hair and causing a large wave to rise on the sea behind him which lingered for a long time.
Had the chance to let them board the battleship in a position of absolute advantage, wouldn't that render Aiven utterly incompetent?
Even the location of the battlefield must be decided by him!
As for the weakest among them, "Trout" Captain "Greedily Vile" Jobri, was, however, the only "Lucky One" out of the three Extraordinaries who successfully boarded the battleship.
However.
Upon seeing Gary in heavy armor holding a wheel giant axe, Boris drawing his Command Saber, and Milan, who finally met a worthy adversary, excitedly swirling a sword flower, these three eager Official Knights.
Clang——
The scimitar fell to the ground.
He knelt with a "thud" and immediately surrendered, shouting:
"Don't kill me! I surrender, I have important information to report!"
Rumble——!
At this time, a massive explosion of water erupted in the distance.
Aiven, single-handedly against two, had already tangled with these two "monstrous" enemies.
"Data Visualization" presented their information.
Name: Marlori (nickname "Butcher")
Tier: Senior Knight
Attributes: Constitution 3.6, Strength 3.5, Agility 3.3
Skills: Sessi Scimitar Technique (Mastery)
Status: Loss of Reason
Aside from his mental state being somewhat off, the physical data did not surprise Aiven.
In contrast, the unknown profession of that Anuma Pirate made him slightly wary, at least during the past two years mingling around the Old Continent, he had not seen many ordinary Anuma Slaves, let alone Extraordinary ones.
