Extraordinary Voyage

Chapter 125: Wild Talisman

Halfway through their stroll, Aiven unexpectedly discovered a sign on a shop engraved with the "Violet Eye" symbol.

Curious, he pulled Angie inside.

Because this "Crow Market" was something he had discovered during a casual reconnaissance by the seabirds on the "New Inn Port," this visit was also intended to let Angie get an early glimpse into the world of the Extraordinary and broaden her horizons.

He hadn't known beforehand that there would be an industry associated with the "Violet Eye" here.

Jingle jingle...

Unlike most of the vendors outside who concealed their faces and hid sneakily, this fixed shop was decorated cleanly and neatly, even to the point of being splendid and magnificent.

A middle-aged attendant, wearing a shirt and vest and a monocle, was already standing by the door, ready to provide guidance services to the customers.

"Welcome, dear guests!"

Upon seeing Aiven and Angie enter, the attendant slightly bowed in greeting, his movements perfect and without flaw, so impeccable that even the strictest etiquette teacher would find no fault, yet without imposing any sense of pressure on the guests, making them feel pleasantly delighted.

The environment was a plus, the service spot-on, good reviews!

Aiven quietly gave a mental thumbs-up.

His eyes swept over the store's counters, observing that the quality of the goods there was significantly higher than the street stalls outside, and underneath each item was a label detailing name, function, taboos, and other considerate information.

Naturally, the accompanying price tag was equally as... exquisite!

However, Aiven knew that in the Extraordinary field, the most valuable thing was precisely that tag.

As there are numerous extraordinary professions, the resulting variety of magical tools is as plentiful as the stars, coupled with potential contamination, evil spirit infestation, curses, and more, it's extremely challenging for an ordinary Extraordinary to obtain a powerful tool without side effects.

Moreover, not every Extraordinary is a knowledgeable appraisal expert.

Getting a powerful tool through much hardship only to lose one's life due to some inexplicable side effect would be far too unjust.

Name: Magic Potion: Blood of Frenzy

Effect: Grants the user temporary frenzy abilities, with strength amplification depending on physical quality; the stronger the physique, the better the frenzy effect.

Side Effects: Loss of reason post-use, indiscriminate between friend and foe.

Note: If any of your teammates still survive, I suppose even in death, they might not want you to take this potion so that you might at least die... well, more intact?

Name: Witchcraft Artifact: Emerald Eye

Effect: Unveils illusions, obstacles, and possesses a certain degree of x-ray vision.

Side Effects: None

Note: Don't think of using it to peek at girls; doing so will just get you beaten up. Its maker specifically set a protective witchcraft on it, you understand.

Name: Alchemy Creation: Strength Gloves

Effect: The essence of mechanization grants the user extraordinary strength, allowing an ordinary person to instantly compete in grip strength with an Official Knight.

Side Effects: Requires continuous energy supply from a Philosopher's Stone

Note: Wake up, kid, they're just gloves. To truly contend with an Extraordinary, you still need a sturdy enough arm, perhaps even a shoulder?

"..."

'This appraiser seems to be quite a cheeky fellow, showing off like this?'

Scanning the rows of labels, ignoring those remarks that make one's teeth itch, Aiven noted that there indeed were quite a few good things here, most of which were very practical.

"Sir, our products here are the most comprehensive in the entire Crow Market, be they magic potions, extraordinary organs, witchcraft tools, alchemy weapons, or various talismans; they are all available. Do you have any specific needs or requirements?"

Following the two closely, the attendant enthusiastically introduced the goods to Aiven and queried his needs.

"Oh? Do you really have everything? Show us the Ocean Treasure from your store."

As far as Aiven knew, the most valuable extraordinary item was the rarely obtainable "Ocean Treasure."

Although he still had a "Mist Silver Lamp," because it was limited to Magic System extraordinaries, Uncle Gel chose not to sell it when distributing spoils and directly gifted it to him.

If possible, Aiven also hoped to compensate him with another item.

"Hehehe, sir, you must be joking. Ocean Treasures might appear at the largest auction on the Black Sea East Coast, but small shops like ours wouldn't have such stock."

The attendant wasn't offended by Aiven's somewhat outlandish request and continued to explain with a smile.

"I see." Aiven realized he had asked a silly question, like trying to buy a tank at a gun shop; such an item wouldn't be in stock.

"Do you have any suggestions? Something to enhance one's strength without side effects, with a slightly more universal application, that can provide the user with more survival capabilities."

"Hahaha, the customer's demands are really strict! But we do have something like that, please follow me."

Led by the attendant, Aiven and Angie passed through several aisles fitted with glass-covered shelves and arrived at a special cabinet section.

Beneath the 45-degree slanted glass cabinet were regular hexagonal stone grid cells, densely arranged like a beehive. Each cell contained a talisman of various materials: bone, wood, stone, metal... any material imaginable could be found here.

At this moment, after the two had taken up the wizard profession, their naturally activated Spiritual Vision was already filled with a dazzling array of spiritual light!

Stunning!

Without a doubt, every "talisman" here wasn't the mere semblance found on many street stalls but a genuine extraordinary item with magical power.

"Please take a look, sir; these are talismans we've acquired over the years, each a masterpiece. Compared to witchcraft tools, talismans have much smaller side effects, a stable upgrade, definitely your best choice."

Observing their reactions, the attendant realized these two were truly knowledgeable and wouldn't be fooled by most talismans' unremarkable appearances, thus becoming even more enthusiastic.

"This is a 'Negative Energy Talisman' also known as a 'Silver Talisman,' standard issue for the kingdom's Crowman Team, produced by the 'Eternal Flame' church.

The 'Blood Dripping Saber' from the 'Black Wing Order' offers the bearer endless 'frenzy' at the cost of rapidly depleting life force.

This is a 'Tongue of Greed' collected from Native Wizards of the New Continent, capable of draining an opponent's life force. Oh, this side effect is rather significant, let's move on to the next.

..."

Angie was already fully engrossed in the attendant's introduction, wishing to take all these seemingly powerful talismans home, while Aiven's gaze was firmly fixed on a seemingly ordinary bone talisman.

It was a curved tooth of not-so-great size, carved with an abstract leopard image using relief techniques, the intermittent engravings resembling a leopard's outline or perhaps a certain mysterious rune.

Even with his eyes closed, Aiven could distinctly discern from amidst the spiritual light emitted by various talismans the light and natural aura emanating from this talisman.

Following his heart's inclination, Aiven interrupted the attendant's introduction: "I'll take this one!"

Saying this, he had already reached out to snatch the label beneath it, which read:

Name: Talisman Class: Wild Talisman

Material: Tooth from a certain large frenzied creature

Effect: Increases the user's speed and reaction by 20%, with a mild concealment capability

Side Effects: Mild bloodthirst (can be resisted with willpower)

Note: It can make you a truly jungle killer!

Hmm, although the amplification is only twofold, that's already a significant benefit for an Official Knight with excellent swordsmanship, helping Aiven close the gap to a Senior Knight Tier, further enhancing his agility attribute, and potentially adding a bit more shoulder strength?

"Sir, our products here are the most comprehensive in the entire Crow Market, whether it's magic potions, Extraordinary Organs, Witchcraft tools, Alchemy weapons, or various talismans, we have everything. Is there anything you need? Any specific requirements?"

Following closely behind the pair, the attendant enthusiastically introduced the situation of the goods to Aiven and asked for his needs.

"Oh? You really have everything? Then show us the Ocean Treasure in your shop."

As far as Aiven knew, the highest-value Extraordinary Items would be the rare "Ocean Treasure."

Although he had a "Mist Silver Lamp" in possession, because it was restricted to magic system practitioners, Uncle Gel had given it to him directly instead of selling it when distributing the spoils back then.

If possible, Aiven wished to reimburse him with one as well.

"Hehehe, the guest must be joking. Such items as the Ocean Treasure might appear at the largest auction on the Black Sea East Coast, a small shop like ours wouldn't have them in stock."

The attendant wasn't upset by Aiven's slightly far-fetched request and continued to explain with a smile.

"I see." Aiven realized he had asked a foolish question. It's like going to a gun shop to buy a tank; how could they have it in stock?

"Do you have any recommendations? Something to enhance my own strength, without any side effects, preferably with a wide range of adaptability as well."

With the attendant's guidance, Aiven and Angie walked past rows of labels, ignoring the ones with annoying notes, and Aiven found many good items there, most of which were very practical.

"Sir, our shop has the most comprehensive range of items in the entire Crow Market, whether magic potions, extraordinary organs, witchcraft tools, alchemy weapons, all kinds of talismans, and everything in between. Do you have something specific in mind that you need?"

"Oh? Do you really have everything? Would you mind showing us the Ocean Treasure in your store?"

As far as Aiven knew, the most valuable among extraordinary items was that rare Ocean Treasure.

Though he himself had one, the "Mist Silver Lamp," since it could only be used by magic system practitioners, Uncle Gel hadn't chosen to sell it off during the distribution of spoils, and instead gifted it to him directly.

If possible, Aiven would like to compensate him with another one.

"Hehehe, you must be joking, sir. Ocean Treasures such as these might appear at the largest auction on the Black Sea East Coast. A small shop like ours doesn't stock such items, I'm afraid."

Despite Aiven's somewhat far-fetched request, the attendant didn't get angry and continued to explain to him with a smile.

"I see." Aiven realized he had asked a foolish question, like walking into a gun store attempting to buy a tank—for such things, how could there be stock?

"Do you have any recommendations? Something to enhance my strength, with no side effects, and preferably a wide application?"
