Extraordinary Voyage

Chapter 119: Heroic Thief Zorro Takes Action

This is a detection ritual that Aiven obtained from the "Shadow Library," which, when combined with symbolic objects like a glass and clear water along with a specially concocted magic potion, can to some extent materialize a person's qualities.

The soul attributes of most wizards have no particular inclination, and what is materialized might just be a breeze or a small mist, all natural phenomena or objects in nature.

They can use both White Witchcraft and Black Witchcraft; only after long immersion in a particular type of Special Witchcraft will the soul develop some inclination, be it positive, negative, or strictly neutral.

Aiven is the same as well.

But a small number of innately gifted individuals are different.

They are born with a strong inclination, and some extreme individuals can't even use witchcraft from opposing fields, which can be described as insulation, but in their own inclined field, they are absolute geniuses.

Angie is precisely such a gifted individual!

Holy, healing, animal affinity, Angie already demonstrated at least three extraordinary abilities during the test, and all three are the standard skills of White Wizards, making it safe to say Angie should be a natural White Wizard, or a White Witch.

In fact, given her talents, even if she hadn't met Aiven, Angie would one day awaken to become a White Witch. However, without the necessary guidance and heritage at that time, the tragedy of the once "Crow Witch" might replay.

Awakening to become a witch who can only use talent magic abilities (not equivalent to female wizards), then as time passes, transforming into some "demon" with a human appearance is almost the fate of most wild witches.

By then, the gift of fate could become the source of tragedy!

The saddest thing is, under the suppression of the True God Church, only a small portion of witches are rescued and taught, as if tragedy was destined from their birth.

Fortunately, this time is different...

"Teacher, how did I do?"

Having snapped out of the shock from witnessing the miraculous phenomenon, Angie looked at Aiven with some trepidation.

What greeted her was a big, smiling face!

"Excellent, beyond my expectations! Angie!"

Aiven did not deliberately downplay Angie's talent to keep her humble, but rather spared no praise. He knew that her childhood circumstances and original environment made her innately insecure.

At this stage, building her confidence is far more necessary than teaching her humility.

"Is it true, Aiven Brother?"

Angie was full of surprise; this was the highest praise she'd ever heard in her life.

"Of course it's true. Among all the magical system transcendents with talent, you are likely among the top few. At least among those I know, no one's talent surpasses yours."

Not reprimanding her for the spontaneous address, Aiven saw the shy blush on the girl's cheeks from the praise and confirmed that he had achieved his intended effect before continuing:

"However, even a genius cannot become an excellent caster without diligent practice, strict self-discipline, and consistent knowledge accumulation.

So, today I'm going to teach you the first piece of extraordinary knowledge, 'Moderation.' The higher the talent, the stronger the power, the more you need moderation! You may not understand now, but just remember it."

"I understand, teacher."

Angie nodded heavily. Although she couldn't comprehend it now, whenever she recalled this first lesson, she was exceedingly grateful that her teacher was a rational sage like Aiven.

Placing his notes on the meditation method into Angie's hands: "Don't rush, digest it word by word with a dictionary, and then I'll accompany you to unlock the door to a new world."

"Hmm!"

The witches in this world are somewhat like warlocks in past life games; while not relying entirely on bloodline inheritance, they do possess some innate characteristics.

They don't need to learn overly complex and profound knowledge, nor conduct various dangerous and eerie witchcraft experiments. Just by continuously exploring their own power and controlling it, they can continually progress.

So, what Angie currently needs is merely a trigger.

Of course, Aiven would not allow his student to become a purely talent-dependent casting machine; he would help Angie to supplement everything a formal wizard should possess bit by bit.

...

Bam––

Bam––

"Don't come near, you monster!"

Two burly gang gunmen, shooting as they retreated in panic, cut an ironic figure given their intimidating appearance that could scare children to tears.

Step.. Step.. Step...

A cross-dressing individual, clad in a black cloak, wearing a wide-brimmed round hat, with a black blindfold over his face and a Swift Sword at his waist, approached them like a Zorro reincarnation.

Clang––

The bright sheen of a sword flashed.

Thud–– Thud––

The two fell heavily, producing two muffled sounds in their final farewell to the world.

"To think two people were hiding in a sealed room, just avoiding the effects of the Sleep Potion. Seems this ancient publicly available formula has several flaws, leaving much room for improvement."

This place was an underground bank specializing in black market dealings and was the third Blood Hand Gang base Aiven destroyed.

As for the imitation of Milan's previous attire? Hey! How can the acts of a transmigrator be called imitation...?

Since defeating their Tier 2 Extraordinary official, the Crimson Shooter Ryan, at their bar base, Aiven carefully observed for several days.

Although the Blood Hand Gang reacted with some furious rage, because they found no trace of the perpetrator, they vented their anger on other gang organizations in the area for a while before resuming their collection of "sacrifices."

To these elusive individuals insanely familiar with the city, the City Guard and City Defense Committee's clean-up was utterly powerless, as efforts to mobilize even higher-level forces were suppressed by the nobility behind the "Blood Hand Gang."

So, Aiven took direct action, taking over the duties of the City Guard.

Today was just his first operation, yet like a thunderbolt, he wiped out a base, and before they could retract forces, he rapidly struck down another.

Aiven didn't self-righteousness in not tolerating sand in his eyes; it just so happened that the "Blood Hand Gang" provided a reason for him to steadfastly eliminate them and to reasonably amass their wealth and collections in the process.

After all, he has a student now, and he calculated the funds and resources needed for both himself and Angie to become formal wizards, or Tier 2 Transcendents.

Uh, thinking of that number...

Even Aiven, already with some wealth, wanted to clutch his money pouch and weep: "It's so hard for me..."

Though there is a risk, having secured a hold of the Crown Prince, in the case of impossibility, he can still call for outside aid, from the heart, from the heart.

So for the sake of money, Zorro... moves out!

After eliminating these two small thugs, Aiven continued searching, seeing gang members affected by the Sleep Potion like lambs to slaughter lying around, most apparently not as "lucky" as the two earlier.

Under interrogation with the aid of the magic potion, these mere ordinary gang members couldn't hide any secrets.

"Speak!"

"I lend money to gamblers who've lost everything, then set them up to take everything, and even their wife and children can be used as collateral....."

Clang––

"I don't want to hear it anymore, next one!"
