Extraordinary Voyage

Chapter 112: Strong Voodoo Potion!

For the time being, putting the "Blood Hand Gang" aside, Aiven returned to his peaceful study life.

With ample mysterious knowledge as a backup and a wizard identity that can be semi-open, Aiven decided to start the "Galliot Bird Transformation Technique 2.0" which he'd been planning for a long time. After dragging it out for so long, it was time to try weaponizing the seabirds.

So in the following days, Aiven didn't go anywhere and spent all day in the library, focusing on perfecting his second experimental plan step by step by combining the library's resources.

Various anatomical diagrams, potion formulas, ritual materials, parchments filled with techniques, etc., filled his desk.

Coo... coo... coo...

Several seabirds, as observation subjects, perched on Aiven's desk grooming their feathers, completely unaware that they were about to reach another turning point in their bird lives.

As to whether they turn towards paradise or hell? Uh, who knows...

However, this time Aiven's transformation will be very significant, almost touching the current limits of knowledge. So the design plan has been revised repeatedly, and it may take several months, possibly not implemented until the short-term training ends.

At least in the short term, their bird lives are still peaceful, probably.

"Hi! Aiven, do you have time to help me with something now?"

Aiven had just taken notes from a huge "Basic Magic Potion" he needed when a pleasant female voice suddenly sounded from behind him.

Turning around, he saw Delis standing prettily behind him, her long hair piled high, wearing an aqua green long dress.

"My pleasure, madam!"

Considering that he didn't have any urgent work to do and happened to be curious about other people's research projects, Aiven readily agreed.

"Great! Come with me quickly, Anthony and Alva are here too!"

Gathering his things, Aiven followed Delis, passing through rows of bookshelves in the "Shadow Library," pushing open an oak door studded with copper nails, and entering the experimental area at the back of the building.

The long corridor, illuminated only by dim lights, made one feel as if walking through underground tomb passages, silent except for the "tap tap tap" of their footsteps.

But it had no effect on the two of them; the atmosphere was something association members had long been accustomed to here in the experimental area.

Eventually, the two arrived at a door carved with strange plant patterns; although Aiven had never been to this lab, with his knowledge, he recognized this as a demonized plant called "Parasitic Moss."

Typically, the experimental facilities paired with the "Shadow Library" are related to the symbol patterns outside the door, although Aiven, having joined not long ago, hadn't fully understood them.

He could only speculate that this laboratory was mainly for dangerous potion experiments.

Well, "dangerous" should be underlined!

Opening the door revealed a small changing room, not directly connected to the experimental area, obviously set up to prevent toxic substances from leaking.

"Be careful, check your protective gear."

"Okay..."

The two of them separately changed in the independent changing room into protective clothing made of special leather and put on bird-beak masks for poison protection before passing through another small door to enter the laboratory interior.

Inside, two similarly dressed people were around a bubbling cauldron, observing and recording something.

"How is it?" Delis was the first to ask.

"Not good, still no progress." A muffled voice came from the shorter person's mask, though somewhat distorted, Aiven recognized it as Alva's voice.

The other taller figure was, naturally, Anthony.

They were also called over by Delis to help. However, "Magic Potion" wasn't exactly their specialty, and attempts made throughout the day had yielded nothing.

"You really can't expect anything from these two!" Although she had anticipated this, Delis was still a bit disappointed upon hearing their answers.

"How can you blame us? This isn't even our research direction!" The two immediately said in unison, feeling wronged.

"Haha, you two get along well."

Having spent some time with them, Aiven naturally knew their families were among the true upper class in "New Inn Port." Having grown up together and joined the "Violet Eye" around the same time, they were a highly cooperative and cohesive small group.

"Well, Aiven just came, and he's also into Magic Potion research. Even if he hasn't formally joined the 'Alchemy School,' he's still better than us.

You all can continue the research together. This terrifying 'Strong Witchcraft Potion' is something I don't want to touch anymore!"

Seeing reinforcements arrive, Alva promptly started to shirk responsibility. Before Delis could respond, he had already dropped the records and ran out as if fleeing.

"I-I'll catch up with Alva." Anthony quickly followed, slipping away as well.

Bang—

The door closed, leaving only Delis and Aiven staring at each other.

"Two disloyal guys, don't ever expect me to help you connect with those famous ladies again!"

Delis stomped in anger but also knew that those two were indeed unhelpful here, so she let them off lightly.

"Um... What did Alva say that cauldron contains? Did I mishear just now, a Strong Voodoo Potion?!!" Aiven, thinking he heard wrong through the protective mask, uncertainly asked Delis.

What is a Voodoo Potion?

It's the signature poison relied on by the "Voodoo Sect" of the New Continent, famous for producing black wizards!

Known for having the strongest toxicity of apprentice-level potions, notorious for its extremely lethal effects, a single drop can kill an elephant, not to mention adding the words "Strong" in front!

It's probably not fast enough to die!!!

"You didn't mishear, it's indeed a 'Strong Voodoo Potion,' and that's my chosen topic."

Delis seemed not to understand the incredulity in Aiven's words, even walking to that pot of dark-green concoction and stirring it with a glass rod.

Aiven, scared by Delis's actions, really wanted to tell her: "Sorry to bother, but I'm done here!"

But considering it wouldn't be good to outright refuse someone shortly after arriving here, he braced himself and said, "Uh, isn't it dangerous to just leave it like this?"

"Hahaha, did you think this is a finished Voodoo Potion? Though it looks scary, the actual concentration of this pot is only one percent of the real thing. Those two are just cowards, don't listen to their nonsense!"

Delis's words instantly made Aiven sigh with relief.

Talking about toxicity without considering dosage is meaningless; at this concentration, the Voodoo Potion can easily be handled with the protective gear they had.
