Chapter 375: Artifact Frenzy Quest [9]
Both Evelyn group and I were in stand still.
It was hard to taking six of them together but not hard as my sparring match against my master.
...And Just Like I said the only threat to me are Evelyn and Isabella as I know both of them yet use there full power.
Maybe because we are in narrow type corridor Isabella couldn't user her magic power to her limit because the building might collapse at all of us.
And Evelyn was taking care of Other four members when where I decided to fight them.
"Shit, He is strong!"
"Duh, what did you expect? He's ranked 3rd for reason."
A guy muttered with pale expression on his face as he looked at me and next to him girl named Natasha replied to him.
Hearing compliments from girl have it's own benefit but I'm not in mood for this.
"Fuck! Who cares if he's strong or not? He's just one guy with bow that's all! I can take care of him."
"Hey, wait minute—"
Then, suddenly, a warrior wielding an axe charged toward me.
Evelyn tried to stop him but he ignore and ran towards me.
Knowing that Fighting was going to resume everyone in group white take battel pose and were ready to attack me.
Of course ,I didn't just stand there Idely.
I knocked an arrow in bow string and fire it
Tang—!
Swoosh—!
...And just like I fired several times along the predicted path he would take.
With that, I was able to delay his charge for a moment, but Isabella's wind slash and an archer's boy who was pale few moments ago attack arrow flew toward me even more threateningly.
I activated Mana eyes.
Immediately, I could see the whole mana waves in my surroundings. Not only that I could also see the mana strings of the attack that was coming towards me.
I could clearly see and predict the trajectory of the wind slashand arrow.
I lunached my own arrow that was filled with mana at the arrow and dodged the wind slash of Isabella magic.
However, something unexpected happened.
The archer's arrow changed course because of my my mana arrow, turning sideways to the chest of the axe-wielding warrior. His HP must have been low from a previous battle as he was eliminated on the spot.
"Ah, fuck! Hey, watch where you're shoot—"
Before the axe-wielding warrior could finish speaking, he was blindfolded and muzzled. Uuuup, uuuup! It was a bit pitiful how he struggled. But the arrow struck his chest just now, which undoubtedly counted as a critical blow.
Just to be clear, this happened purely by luck.
"He changed the arrow's trajectory...."
But Isabella's seemed to think it was my intention, as she muttered seriously.
I could see the confusion and frustration on Isabella's face as she processed what had just happened. Her wind slash had missed its target, and now her ally lay defeated on the ground, his fate sealed by an arrow that had deflected off course.
The tension in the corridor was palpable as Evelyn's team braced for the next move. They were clearly thrown off by the unexpected turn of events, and I knew I had to capitalize on this moment of disarray.
"Shit, this is getting messy," one of the remaining cadets muttered, his voice trembling. He glanced nervously at his teammates, clearly unsettled by the chaotic battle unfolding before them.
Ignoring the commotion, I focused on my next move. I drew another arrow and prepared to fire, targeting the archer who had originally attacked me. He was already showing signs of fear, and I intended to use that to my advantage.
Suddenly, Evelyn stepped forward, her blade gleaming with determination. She raised her sword and pointed it at me, signaling her intent to engage directly. Her resolve was evident, and I knew she would be a formidable opponent.
"Alright, let's end this," Evelyn said, her voice steady despite the chaos. Her eyes locked onto mine, and I could sense her readiness for a decisive confrontation.
Isabella, still shaken by the earlier turn of events, quickly composed herself and readied her staff. She chanted a spell, preparing to unleash another powerful wind attack. Her focus was on me, and I knew I had to be prepared for whatever she might throw my way.
As Evelyn charged forward, I fired an arrow aimed at her, but she deftly dodged it with a practiced roll. Her agility was impressive, and she was closing the distance between us rapidly.
Meanwhile, Isabella's wind spell hurtled toward me, and I had to react quickly. I used my mana eyes to predict its path and sidestepped just in time, feeling the rush of air as the spell passed by.
With Evelyn now close, I had to switch strategies. I drew my bow and fired a rapid succession of arrows, each one aimed to force her into a defensive position. She blocked and deflected most of them with her sword, but one managed to graze her shoulder.
The corridor was filled with the sounds of battle—the clashing of weapons, the whistling of arrows, and the shouts of the cadets. Despite the chaos, I kept my focus sharp. My goal was to hold my ground and ensure that Team Black could achieve their objectives without being overwhelmed.
Evelyn, clearly frustrated, pressed her attack with renewed vigor. She lunged at me with her sword, and I barely managed to parry her strike with the flat of my bow. The force of her blow nearly sent me stumbling, but I steadied myself and countered with a well-placed shot.
As Evelyn continued her relentless assault, I caught a glimpse of Isabella from the corner of my eye. She was preparing another spell, her staff glowing with arcane energy. I knew I had to act quickly to avoid being caught in her next attack.
With a burst of speed, I maneuvered around Evelyn, using the narrow confines of the corridor to my advantage. I fired a series of arrows aimed at Isabella, disrupting her concentration and forcing her to take cover.
For a moment, the corridor was quiet, save for the heavy breathing of the combatants. The battle had reached a critical juncture, and it was clear that the outcome would depend on who could maintain their composure and adapt to the rapidly changing situation.
Evelyn and Isabella were formidable opponents, but I was determined to hold my ground and achieve victory for Team Black. As the clash of battle continued, I knew that every move, every decision, and every shot would count.
