Chapter 859: Emergency Call for Help

With an explosive burst of momentum, the Witch Demon Elder leapt high into the sky, hovering more than ten meters above the ground. He raised his right hand, gathering a mass of black energy that transformed into a heavy, deathly white bone spear.

The entire bone spear seemed to be made from the leg bone of some ancient giant beast, over two meters long, and appeared to weigh several hundred pounds. Gripped in the Witch Demon Elder's hand, he swung it fiercely, the spearhead aiming at Cheka, descending like a meteor with overwhelming force.

Cheka's eyebrows twitched, realizing the Witch Demon Elder was ready to go all out. Without any carelessness, he took a deep breath and conjured a blue energy shield in front of him. He then hid behind the energy shield, quickly chanting spells, preparing for a magical counterattack.

...

In a distant hut, Pandora looked through the window, observing everything. She glanced at Cheka, then at the Witch Demon Elder, with a somewhat worried expression.

Suddenly, as if struck by a thought, she turned and rushed to a cabinet in the corner, opened it, and took out a crystal ball. She gripped it firmly, activated it, causing several colorful beams of light to flash rapidly inside the crystal ball.

...

Blue Lake Estate.

In the night, Blue Lake Estate was silent, and the servants had long gone to bed, with only the study of Richard still lit.

Richard sat at the desk, which was spread with a scroll from the Witch Demon Elder, recording several powerful ancient spells, which he was studying intently.

"Hmm..." After carefully reading the final spell on the scroll, called "Death God Scythe," Richard stood up, rubbed his brow, and walked to the window.

Relaxing his spirit a bit, he spoke to himself: "The spells on the scroll are indeed good, but considering their applicability, only a few might be quite useful. Among them, spells like 'Death God Scythe' and 'Wailing Whip,' which are close-combat, can basically be ignored.

However, spells like 'Star Spirit Energy Gathering' and 'Absorb Darkness' can be studied further. If they're consistent with what I envision, they might be applied in the later stages of nuclear weapon research and production plans. After all, when that time comes, the energy required will definitely not be a small amount, and how to solve that is a big problem..."

As he spoke, Richard prepared to enter Eden. On one hand, he wanted to go to the magic testing field to understand the specific effects of a few spells. On the other hand, he wanted to configure some chemical reagents he would be using next—the raw materials for which he had put in a few days ago, and according to the process in Eden's reactor, they should now have produced a large quantity of intermediate products, just right for the next step.

As Richard planned to act, he felt a slight vibration in his chest.

His eyeball quickly rotated in its socket, and without hesitation, Richard swiftly took out the vibrating crystal ball from his chest pocket.

He then saw a blood-red light flash through the crystal ball, lasting for a full three seconds—this was the highest level alert he had agreed upon with Pandora and the Witch Demon Elder Ah Fu.

"What's happened?" Richard voiced his confusion but had no time to ponder, stepping out of the window, speeding towards the Shambhala Uranium Mine dozens of miles away.

...

Shambhala Uranium Mine, at the center of the mining grounds, on a small hill.

The Witch Demon Elder wielded the over two-meter-long heavy bone spear, fiercely thrusting it down with a piercing whistle, heavily smashing onto the magic shield Cheka had erected.

"Crash!"

The magic shield shattered, exposing Cheka to the Witch Demon Elder.

However, Cheka was not flustered; he looked up at the Witch Demon Elder and said, "Old man, everything you're doing now is really in vain. The soul energy within you has already been absorbed by me over thirty percent, and the proportion is still increasing. How can you defeat me? To be honest, I even doubt whether you can withstand this attack of mine."

As he finished speaking, Cheka flicked his wrist, and a black light shot out, directly aiming at the Witch Demon Elder's face. Upon closer inspection, it was a black ice cone with a strong energy reaction.

The Witch Demon Elder listened to Cheka's words, observed Cheka's attack, and didn't respond, merely swinging the bone spear, precisely hitting the ice cone, deflecting it away.

But unexpectedly, just as the ice cone was deflected a few centimeters away, it suddenly shattered on its own. It then transformed into hundreds of almost transparent cicada-wing-like ice slices, whistling as they charged towards the Witch Demon Elder, as if ready to dismember him.

The Witch Demon Elder's eyes remained as calm as ancient wells; wielding the bone spear, he shook it violently, thrusting into the center of the incoming ice slices and started spinning rapidly.

The air was drawn in, creating a whirlwind.

Soon, energy was generated within the whirlwind, transforming into an energy black hole.

The energy black hole released a powerful suction, forcefully pulling all the ice slices together before the Witch Demon Elder hurled them like a stone towards Cheka.

Cheka clearly did not expect the Witch Demon Elder to respond this way. He was in the midst of preparing his next magical attack and, seeing the energy black hole approaching with numerous ice slices, hastily halted his spell to dodge.

The Witch Demon Elder did not relent, charging with his spear, initiating a series of grand and expansive attacks.

Slash!

Thrust!

Lunge!

Swing!

Collapse!

The Witch Demon Elder showcased astounding close-combat skills with the spear.

However, this wasn't anything remarkable.

After all, ordinary people, in a way, could also master such skills.

But when these techniques are executed at tens of times the speed of ordinary people, it's terrifying. The spearhead pierced the air, releasing explosion after explosion, the spear shaft creating a huge swath of afterimages.

Most importantly, every time the Witch Demon Elder attacked with the spear, abundant death energy would burst forth from the bone spear, turning the surrounding area within over a dozen meters into a dead zone. Any living being caught in it would die instantly.

This is how the Witch Demon Elder attacked Cheka.

Faced with the Witch Demon Elder's desperate onslaught, Cheka wisely chose a defensive stance, frequently using magic shields to block. Only in a few instances would he suddenly strike back at the Witch Demon Elder.

A few minutes later.

The Witch Demon Elder thrust his long spear like a giant python, straight at Cheka's heart; energy exploded, making the entire space seem to tremble.

Cheka watched, but his eyes sharpened, unusually not retreating; instead, he moved forward proactively.

His hands, wrapped in golden light, suddenly grasped the Witch Demon Elder's bone spear, twisting it with all his might. A "crack" was heard, and due to its inability to withstand the force, the bone spear shattered, turning into countless shards that fired at the Witch Demon Elder like bullets.

The Witch Demon Elder hesitated for just a moment, and dozens of fragments penetrated his body, causing blood to gush out instantly. He then looked at Cheka with a touch of surprise: "You...this!"

"Ha, don't be surprised. If it was at the beginning, I definitely wouldn't dare to forcibly take your bone spear—if I really dared, you'd definitely kill me on the spot. But now, haha, without your soul energy, which I've absorbed almost half of, it's different.

I not only dare to take your bone spear head-on but also have the ability to destroy it. How about it, accepting reality now! Your defeat is inevitable, old man. You really are old and can never be a match for me!" Cheka declared.

Upon hearing this, the Witch Demon Elder's gaze dimmed.
