Exploring Technology in a Wizard World

Chapter 838: Huh?!

Looking at Richard, the potion in Bobbobovic's mouth was forgotten to be swallowed, and he instinctively wanted to take a deep breath to calm himself down. As a result, the potion flowed into his windpipe, almost choking him to death.

"Cough cough cough!"

"Cough cough cough cough cough cough!"

Bobobovic coughed violently, restored normalcy after a while, glared at Richard, and almost roared: "Richard! You... you came to my room in the middle of the night, scared me to death! Don't tell me you're just visiting!"

In the aftermath of the air missile-induced whirlwind, a bronze lamp base blew towards Richard. Richard caught it with one hand, looked around, and placed it on the only windowsill where items could be placed.

After finishing, he turned his head to look at Bobbobovic, seriously answering: "Actually, I really am here to visit you."

"Hiss—"

Bobbobovic bared his teeth, his mouth twitching unnaturally, staring at Richard for a long time with a very unfriendly expression. It seemed as if he was about to beat Richard up but, realizing he was no match for him, unwillingly gave up.

But he still had some temper, with the temples bulging and the cyan blood vessels on his forehead throbbing "bang bang." Bobbobovic said to Richard with irritation: "You really know how to pick a time, don't you? Visiting me in the middle of the night?"

"Honestly, I didn't notice the time because the matter is quite urgent, if not handled properly, it might expose our identities to the Truth Society. So, I came to find you directly after I thought of it," Richard explained.

"Then you could've knocked or called me a couple of times," said Bobbobovic. "Every time I visit you, I always have your servant Jia Lie notify you."

"I called you, but there was no response. You also didn't have any servants guarding the door," Richard continued calmly. "Most importantly, I didn't sense your life presence; it was as if you were dead. Out of caution, I had to enter your room to investigate the situation."

At this point, Richard paused, giving Bobbobovic a deep look and asked, "Why don't you have a life presence when you're sleeping? As far as I know, this doesn't seem typical for Potion Wizards, right? Could it be, you have other secrets?"

"Hiss—"

Bobbobovic bared his teeth again, like a rabbit that had been stepped on, jumping and shouting: "Why do you care so much! Can't I sleep deeply? Besides, who doesn't have secrets. There are so many of your secrets I don't know, why should I tell you all of mine?"

"Alright, alright, I won't probe into your secrets; I just want to discuss the current situation," Richard said solemnly.

"Alright, then tell me." Bobbobovic also understood the importance of the matter, and his gaze became serious, adjusting the bed that had been blown askew by the wind, sitting on it. He muttered softly, "Hope what you have to say is really important, or I wasted several bottles of potion, quite a loss."

Richard began to speak: "Currently, I suspect that the Truth Society might be investigating me, perhaps I'm being sensitive, but to be safe, we need to make some responses. Specifically..."

As Richard continuously recounted, Bobbobovic listened with his expression becoming more serious. After a moment, he took a deep breath and said: "So tricky? Well then..."

The night deepened.

...

The outside world and Eden are completely disconnected.

As the night color became intense outside, within Eden, under the operation of the lighting system, it still retained the brightness of early night — this was the state Richard adjusted last time.

At this moment, in the brightness of the early night, the research room in the Mechanical Processing Sector in Eden stirred as Richard left.

"Buzz buzz buzz!"

The Witch Demon Life Box casually tossed by Richard onto the iron frame vibrated a few times, black smoke billowing out, and the Witch Demon Elder appeared.

After the Witch Demon Elder appeared, he looked around but did not find Richard's figure, emitting a heavy nasal sound.

"Humph, he's gone!"

"Very good, very good, this time he didn't throw me into the box again, so I can continue to find a way to leave this coffin room," the Witch Demon Elder muttered to himself, continually encouraging himself, "Once I leave this room, I'll be free, then I can go wherever I like.

If there's a chance, I must find a boy — one who's easily deceived. That way, I can easily attach to him, help him grow step by step, then guide him to resurrect me.

Once I'm truly resurrected, I can properly enjoy life in this world, hahaha!"

In his laughter, the Witch Demon Elder continued to check every corner of the room, searching for possible gaps.

But... there was none, really none!

After more than half an hour.

"Ah! Damn it!" The Witch Demon Elder was somewhat agitated, pacing violently in front of the research room's door, losing his temper. But no matter what, he truly couldn't find a gap, he couldn't leave this room.

Then there's no hope of resurrection unless he really collaborates with that obviously too smart guy.

But he wasn't completely sure if the other party, after using him, wouldn't kick him away.

Alas, he's now just a lonely soul, cautious can't be helped.

What to do? What to do?

The Witch Demon Elder was quite conflicted, just about to return to the Life Box to calm down, suddenly as if he saw something, the smoke-formed body turned sharply, and his gaze fell onto a corpse on the room's table.

"Whoosh!"

The Witch Demon Elder dashed over with lightning speed like an old dog seeing a bone, sniffing around the corpse incessantly, his expression became extremely excited.

"This is... this is..." The Witch Demon Elder spoke incoherently, "This is... a dead person? Yes, it's a dead person, a soul with only a partial remaining spirit. My soul might not necessarily match this body well, but at this moment, I can give it a try. If successful, it will break the room's shackles and attain freedom!"

The outside sunshine! The outside flowers! The outside birds and insects!

A little imagination, and the Witch Demon Elder got excited.

But soon, the Witch Demon Elder frowned.

He admitted that the corpse in front of him offered him the chance for resurrection. Only, he had lost quite a lot of memory now, using such a casually found body for resurrection, if errors occurred, it might lead to significant drawbacks.

Should he take advantage of this good opportunity while that clever guy isn't around and attempt resurrection?

The Witch Demon Elder became conflicted.

After struggling for a long time, the Witch Demon Elder suddenly gritted his teeth, with smoke-formed hands reaching towards the corpse on the table.

...

Meanwhile, in another room inside Eden.

Pandora, sleeping on the bed, smacked her lips and slowly opened her eyes.

Upon awakening, Pandora stretched heavily, her gaze clear and curious, looking around — she had finally awoken from a nap.

"Swoosh!"

Pandora sat up, took a look around, but saw no one, scratched her head somewhat puzzledly, tentatively murmuring: "Richard?"

"Thud!"

Just then, a muffled sound came from outside the room.

Pandora instantly became vigilant.

"Ah?!"

She called out habitually.
