Exploring Technology in a Wizard World

Chapter 781 Meeting

The following evening.

In the reception room of Wizard Shamman's residence, a meeting was underway.

The parties involved in the meeting were Shamman, along with Richard and Bobbobovic.

After the three seated themselves and chatted for a while, Shamman was the first to speak, cutting to the chase with a polite tone as he looked at Richard and Bobbobovic, "The reason I've invited you both here is related to the items you've consigned in my store."

"Is there a problem with the consigned goods, Wizard Shamman?" Richard asked, eyeing Shamman, "I've heard that your store has always conducted consignment business with a rather good reputation, which is why I decided to consign my goods there.

Of course, if there really is a problem, and it's inconvenient to continue the consignment, then let's forget about it. We've arranged consignments with five or six other stores in the city, so missing one won't make much of a difference, though it is slightly regrettable."

"No, no, no," Shamman hastened to wave his hands, "Lord Richard the Wizard, you misunderstand me. I did not invite you here to refuse consignment; on the contrary, I welcome it.

In fact, I have some personal expertise in appraisal and have already roughly determined that the items you've consigned are very rare casting materials for Undead Magic. If we can find the right customers, they can definitely sell for a high price."

"However," Shamman paused, "However, Lord Richard the Wizard, you must know that nowadays, the practice of Undead Magic is extremely rare, much like Space and Time Magic.

Therefore, finding suitable customers is not so easy. For this reason, I'm curious as to why you would consign such casting materials. Did you make them yourselves, or did you come across them by chance?"

"Materials for casting Undead Magic, huh." Richard spoke as if he was just learning this information, and then he turned to Shamman, "There's nothing worth hiding about the source of the casting materials, it's all quite straightforward.

You see, we come from Jialan City, a rather barren place where precious resources are scarce, let alone rare casting materials. It was a fortunate chance that we discovered them in an inconspicuous cave.

At first, we thought ourselves rather knowledgeable, but it turned out we didn't recognize any of the various casting materials in the cave. To avoid wasting what might be valuable and to gain sufficient benefit, we decided to try our luck in Delan. If this doesn't work, we will consider going to the Soma Alliance."

"I see." Shamman nodded and then leaned in slightly, "Lord Richard the Wizard, you mentioned finding various casting materials in the cave, and you've only consigned one type. Does this mean you have other casting materials that you haven't brought out?"

"Indeed." Richard didn't deny it, answering, "Because we didn't recognize the materials in the cave, to avoid being deceived, we only took out the lowest-grade material for consignment. Our plan was to wait until we found someone who really knows their stuff before bringing out better casting materials to trade."

"That makes sense, very sensible," Shamman nodded again and again, his eyes growing brighter. The next moment, rubbing his hands together, he tentatively asked Richard, "Then, Lord Richard the Wizard, I wonder… if I might have the honor of seeing your other casting materials?"

"Well…" Richard hesitated, exchanging a glance with Bobbobovic before looking at Shamman, "It is possible, but Wizard Shamman, if you were to see the items, how would that help with our consignment? You know, the first item we've consigned in your shop hasn't sold yet."

"This—" Shamman's face turned somewhat red, but then he quickly regained his composure and looked at Richard, "Lord Richard, it's true that I won't be personally purchasing your casting materials. However, I do know someone who would be interested in them. I guarantee that if you have more advanced casting materials, I will definitely find a buyer."

"Then…" Richard hesitated for a few seconds before pulling out a small iron box from his chest, opening it to reveal the pure black crystal powder inside.

Richard said, "The rest of the materials, I didn't bring all of them with me, as that would be too much trouble, only this medium-grade casting material. If Wizard Shamman can really help us sell this kind of casting material, we would naturally offer up the rest. Of course, we would also provide a reward as thanks for Wizard Shamman's assistance."

After finishing his speech, Richard pulled out a money bag and placed it on the table.

Shamman, who was initially focused on the black crystal powder in the little iron box, suddenly had his attention seized by the sight of Richard's money bag. The sound it made as it hit the table was distinct and crisp, much like the sound of gold coins.

With a smile, Shamman slowly opened the money bag and glanced inside, his face instantly lighting up with a brilliant smile.

Just as he had anticipated, the bag contained not gold coins, but Wizard Crystal Coins.

Indeed, his choice had been right. By enduring the temptation of short-term pleasures and investing his energy into this matter, he had immediately reaped a handsome reward.

And this was only the beginning.

As long as he could successfully implement this, the profits would surely be even greater.

Besides, from the organization, he would receive another share of the profits.

Thinking of these things, Shamman's eyes narrowed into slits with a gleeful smile as he assured Richard, "Lord Richard the Wizard, since you trust me so much, I definitely won't let you down. I promise, within three days at most, or one day at least, I can give you a satisfactory answer."

"Then I'll await the good news from Wizard Shamman."

"Easy to say, easy to say…"

Several minutes later, the meeting ended.

Shamman stepped forward and personally saw Richard and Bobbobovic out the door. He watched as Richard and Bobbobovic walked away, then returned to the courtyard.

Standing in the courtyard, Shamman thought for a moment and then turned his head to shout, "Shar, Has!"

"Tap tap tap…"

Hearing the call, two youths, one tall and one short, quickly ran to Shamman's side.

"Master, what are your orders?" Has asked.

"Master, I've gotten the carriage ready, you can leave at any time," Shar added, going a step further as he was very aware of what Shamman now intended to do.

Hmm—" Shamman pursed his lips, glanced at Shar, and seemed tempted by the suggestion, but ultimately, he restrained himself.

Thinking of the substantial profit he had just made, he wasn't stingy and unfastened a heavy purple money bag from his waist, tossing it to Shar with instructions, "Shar, give this money to Caroline and tell her I'm taking care of her for this entire month. However… I cannot be certain which day I'll go, just let her wait patiently for me."

Shar caught the heavy money bag, paused briefly, and after hearing Shamman's words, knowing his mind was set, dared not talk back, and spoke softly, "Yes, I'll tell Miss Caroline right away."

Having said that, he turned and walked out of the courtyard, disappearing into the night.

But he didn't go far, just turning a corner on the street when he stopped.

He cautiously looked around, making sure no one was there, and checked his trail to confirm the annoying Has hadn't followed him. Shar took a deep breath, carefully opened the money bag, and seeing the gold and silver coins inside, his breath hitched.

Almost instinctively, his hand reached in, grabbing a handful, about to stuff them into his pocket.

But then he suddenly stopped, his expression struggling for a moment before he put most of the gold and silver coins back into the money bag, slipping only a single gold coin into his pocket with care.

After doing all this, Shar once again checked his surroundings, ensuring that no one had witnessed his actions, then walked away with the money bag toward the distance.
