Exploring Immortality Cultivation

Chapter 19 Preparation, Little Yin, Demon Beast Tide

The lock in Ai Changyuan's hand was an active magic device designed by Wang Qi.

Its material made use of spirit fruits containing powerful spiritual power.

Thanks to the continuous advancements in cultivation technology by the Immortal Alliance, Vermilion Fruits that would normally require sixty years to bear fruit could be cultivated in ten years, and they could be mass-produced at a very low cost. Wang Qi and Ai Changyuan simply purchased over ten varieties of spirit fruits, acquiring about three of each kind.

After purchasing the spirit fruits, they methodically used the Spirit Rhinoceros Bottle on hand to convert the fruits into magic artifacts resembling Golden Cores.

Each time "Golden Core Formation" occurred, a Golden Core Phenomenon resembling a defective product would be triggered. But what really made Golden Core Phenomena frequent was another one of Wang Qi's inventions.

A belt.

Based on low-level calculators and inspired by Wang Qi's "Cultivation Digitalization," it treated the Golden Core-type active magic artifact like a CPU processing the body's mana, acting as a hub. This was also a direction in Wang Qi's path.

Wang Qi hadn't expected that this would also create Omens!

Not only Omens, but a diminished version of the small thunderbolt also came along. If a cultivator at the Foundation Establishment Stage used this extrinsic Golden Core, the moment they activated the core, a small imbalance of spiritual power would occur both inside and outside their body. The experience of experiencing the mini-thunderbolt with choked energy was not pleasant.

Luckily, Wang Qi knew he wouldn't die, so he risked his life to complete these experiments himself.

However, the Golden Core acted differently as a hub located outside the body compared to within. Wang Qi's set of devices could temporarily change the flow of mana inside the user's body and lend the user its formidable spiritual power, but in the end, the user was only at Foundation Establishment -- their strength could increase by a factor of one at most, and triggering a qualitative change like a normal Golden Core would be impossible.

In fact, it was closer to the Ancient Method, resembling a "False Core Cultivator" at Foundation Establishment Perfection. These cultivators, trapped in the Late-Stage Foundation Establishment with no hope for Golden Core, boldly sacrifice that small chance of advancement in exchange for powerful combat capabilities. However, Wang Qi's extrinsic Golden Core not only increases combat capabilities but also significantly aids in ascension.

Moreover, even if it's just a doubling, it depends on whose doubling it is. Wang Qi could already exchange blows with Nascent Soul Stage Cultivators, and with the enhancement of this pseudo Golden Core, he had surpassed the vast majority of Nascent Soul Cultivators. Although he wasn't at the level where he could fight a Divine Separation Cultivator as he had during the battle at Divine Capital, he was more than capable of keeping himself safe in the hands of a Divine Separation Stage Cultivator.

The lock in Ai Changyuan's hand was a bit different. Other extrinsic Golden Cores, including the secondary Mendel peas sprouted from the Seeking Dao seeds in Wang Qi's hands and the most versatile Vermilion Fruit, could only enhance combat power by about twice. But this one could bring about a true qualitative change.

"After all, this is a design for a Golden Core in the Gravity Domain. To promote it to other Golden Cores, we need more people involved," Wang Qi said, not surprised by the result. The fruit borne by the Enlightenment Tree of the Yuanli Master, although it ripened once a year, had wonders far surpassing a hundred-year-old spirit fruit.

Wang Qi picked up another lock and weighed it: "With these, I'll have something to rely on for survival overseas. Old Ai, how's the contact with the ship going?"

Heaven Creation would maintain a spatial expansion for a period of time. For Wang Qi, this period was two hours. For Wang Qi's enemies, it was only a matter of seconds.

As Wang Qi's own mana increased or as the Ghost Soldiers grew, he could even proudly say—"No living thing can keep up with my speed!"

Under these circumstances, Sea Demons capable of threatening him had become few. And Transformation Demon Beasts could already have a say overseas; Feng Luoyi could certainly reveal herself and make connections with the Dragon Clan through them.

"As for the Spirit Boat, I borrowed one from an uncle. I found a distant cousin at home, we played together as kids, a Low-Level Primordial Spirit," Ai Changyuan replied. "But can we wait another month or so?"

Wang Qi frowned, "Waiting is fine, and we're not in a rush. But, do you have something going on?"

"In a few days, Qianqian will arrive here, and I want to take her home for a visit."

Wang Qi was shocked.

"Old Wang, what's wrong?"

Wang Qi grabbed Ai Changyuan tightly, "Old Ai, are you serious?"

Ai Changyuan widened his eyes, "What?"

"You should know, getting married is the grave of love affairs! You're still young, why the despair?"

Ai Changyuan's eyes widened: "Old Wang, you definitely don't understand... Oh, I forgot you're a disciple of the Wanfa Sect, sorry sorry. You really don't understand this..."

"Why does everyone like to say that! I have a girl! I have a lover!"

Since Ai Changyuan had urgent matters to attend to, Wang Qi had no choice but to wait. After all, the other party's reasons were quite compelling.

He wasn't idle while waiting, though. After completing the first proof of the Artificial Golden Core, Wang Qi submitted the design to the Immortal Alliance to prove his patent rights on this field. Three days later, he wrote a thesis on the "Cultivation Digitalization," which he did not submit immediately, but first sent to Ai Qinglan for discussion. Chen Youjia received the same content as well.

As for Chen Feng, Wang Qi believed that if Ai Qinglan could see it, so could he, so there was no need to send a separate copy.

That evening, Ai Qinglan replied, but there was no word from Chen Youjia.

It was quite a sad story. After Chen Youjia returned home, she suddenly became ambitious, reported to be studying with a great master within Wanfa Sect. Previously, she was only passively following her father's arrangements and was not very diligent. But this time, she had changed her attitude—she no longer contacted Wang Qi frequently. She claimed she had learned to face herself, completed Refining Heart, and was now preparing for Core Formation.

"Core Formation... I hope I can return from overseas by then," Wang Qi shook his head and began to read the replies from Ai Qinglan and Chen Feng.

Choosing to stay in Divine Capital was a wise decision for both of them. They both knew the true nature of the Heart Demon Curse and the Divine Plague Curse Technique and weren't bound by the same restrictions as Wang Qi; within the permissible rules, they were free to experiment and had mastered things Wang Qi didn't know about.

Wang Qi's "Cultivation Digitalization" was based on the Heavenly Calculation Atlas, but it also drew on the Divine Plague Curse and the personality of Human Dao Divine Spirits, as well as ideas about genetic coding—a cross-discipline. Wang Qi, Chen Feng, and Ai Qinglan, standing from different perspectives, could inspire each other.

With the progress of Cultivation Digitalization, Wang Qi's combat power increased by the day. At the same time, he was also working on digitalizing his Core Formation Method and prepared a special Spirit Rhinoceros Bottle, to be ready for extreme situations where AI Jarvis could complete Core Formation on his behalf.

This process was much smoother than Wang Qi had anticipated. He accomplished it in just half a month.

The special Spirit Rhinoceros Bottle took up to one thousand three hundred and thirty-seven.

During this half-month, Wang Qi received several Cargo Flying Swords from Ai Qinglan, all filled with high-tech gadgets, including medications to interfere with bloodline expression, and reverse transcriptase viruses implanted in the bloodline, paired with papers she sent to give Wang Qi a clearer understanding of her points.

After completing the digitalization of his Cultivation, Wang Qi then invited Wu Shiqin to develop the next Artificial Golden Core together, hoping to explore a universal method.

About half a month later, Wu Shiqin also acquired her External Golden Core, made from a Thunder Essence Peach, designed with the expertise Wang Qi and Wu Shiqin both had on Heavenly Song.

Following this event, Wang Qi once again streamlined the "Golden Core installation package." The package designed by Ai Changyuan for the Gravity Golden Core was reduced from three hundred ninety-nine special Spirit Rhinoceros Bottles to three hundred seventeen; and his own "Dual Golden Core" went from one thousand three hundred thirty-seven to one thousand one hundred fifty-nine. However, it was still far from the "one-click Core Formation" that Wang Qi hoped for.

"Core Formation can be done casually now... Immortal Dao indeed..." Zhen Chan was emerging less and less frequently these days. In his time, an ancient Great Power could sleep for thousands of years and still become prominent upon awakening. But now, the pace of the era was too fast, and he could hardly adapt.

"Old man, you better keep on taking lessons. Let me tell you, I've hit it big recently; your day of breaking free is not far. Just don't be unprepared with a new physical body when I'm ready for you to change your Cultivation Method."

Zhen Chan felt indifferent to Wang Qi's warning: "If Foundation Establishment can be packaged and Golden Core formed instantly, what's the point of my Cultivation?"

Despite his words, he obediently retreated into the depths of the ring, leafing through the data Wang Qi had opened up to him.

Wang Qi, on the other hand, took out the massive jade he had snatched from Zhao Qingfeng half a year ago—the Immortal Dao Burning Book List. The jade had been re-refined by the Immortal Alliance's personnel to take the form of a stele without altering its nature or damaging the information within. Wang Qi tapped on the stele and called, "Little Yin!"

A strange girl's phantom appeared on the stele. She looked to be about fourteen years old, with silver hair and green eyes, and her robe embroidered with complex patterns in gold thread. However, this phantom was only a foot tall, resembling a delicate doll. This was a "search engine" or "reader" compiled by Wang Qi on the basis of Jarvis, serving as a "directory" to handle the vast data in the Immortal Dao Burning Book List.

Since it was based on Jarvis's consciousness, which in turn was based on Wang Qi's, this "directory" also exhibited some personalization problems...

"Admit it, you've handcrafted a female version of yourself," Zhen Chan said in a timely manner. "And you've modeled her after Chen Youjia, that girl. What's the deal? Going to have a romance with a female version of yourself..."

Wang Qi silently removed the ring, tossing the increasingly snarky Zhen Chan into the Storage Bag. Then, he addressed the "directory," "Little Yin, I need to query."

The Artifact Spirit, code-named "Little Yin" and officially named "Huang Shuyin," opened her arms, her eyes devoid of life: "Please provide the keywords."

"Golden Core, Divine Tao."

He planned to continue writing the Golden Core program to reach the realm of one-click Core Formation as soon as possible.

But just as Wang Qi finished transcribing the Cultivation, put away Little Yin, Feng Luoyi's voice suddenly appeared.

"Wang Qi, prepare for battle. The Demon Beast Tide is coming." (To be continued. If you like this work, welcome to Qidian (qidian.com) to vote for recommendation tickets, monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users, please read on m.qidian.com.)
