Chapter 80 Script Evaluation

Chapter 80 Script Evaluation
"Ring ring ring ring..."

Awakened by the alarm clock set 3 hours ago, Ronald felt as if he was still floating in mid-air.

The mental tension in the past two days and the lack of sleep last night made me a little out of shape.

Taking a bath with scalding hot water, Ronald regained his spirits, and today will be a day of continuous fighting.

Last night, too late to get on the phone with casting director Julia Taylor, Ronald drove to the casting studio early this morning. After greeting the big black security guard, Ronald waited at the front desk for Julia to appear.

"She's been busy with the casting of the new film for the past two days, so she might not have time to talk to you." Seeing him coming to the company so early, the front desk couldn't help reminding Ronald.

"When will she come today, I only need 20 minutes, not 10 minutes is enough." In addition to the two versions of the script, Ronald also specially extracted the part of Doris's plot, in case Julia didn't have extra time to read.

"Then just wait." The receptionist said angrily.

"This is a gift for you." Ronald took out a box of exquisitely packaged chocolates and handed it over. This was bought temporarily when he left in the morning, just to make the front desk happy.

"Oh, is this from Belgium? I like it very much." The receptionist happily swept the chocolate into the drawer under the table.

"Let me tell you quietly, Julia has encountered some problems in casting the past two days, and she is not in a good mood. Don't refute her, but follow her."

"Got it, thank you."

Ronald waited at the front desk and chatted with the receptionist.

"Good morning, Julia." The receptionist sat down suddenly, smiling like a standard working girl.

"Morning. Ronald, are you here too?" Julia walked quickly, and was about to go to the conference room after saying hello.

"Julia, I have something to ask you..." The front desk pulled him gently under the table.

"...I want to ask you for help."Regardless of so much, Ronald must speak out.

"I'm busy, wait for me for a while." Julia pushed the door and walked in. From the moment the door opened, Ronald saw that there were already actors waiting inside.

"You started auditioning so early?"

"You have to wait. It's been like this for the past two days. Let them play as soon as you go in. Every time there is no one hour to finish the show." The receptionist whispered to Ronald.

Ronald looked up at his watch, he didn't have much time to waste in the morning.

"Julia, I only need 10 minutes..."

"Julia, Julia, my business is urgent, can you...?"

Two hours had passed, and Ronald hadn't stopped Julia. The second time he already wanted to hold her forcibly, but Julia's stern eyes stopped him, after all, he had to ask her for help.

If he still can't find the time, Ronald will have to try Erin at the Stella Adler Center for the Performing Arts.I don't know if it's too late, I have to find a place to call.

Ronald, who was running around in a hurry outside the meeting room, let out a long sigh of "hey", he still has no contacts, he leaned on the wall, lightly touched his head against the wall twice, and then leaned against the wall.

"Boy, you hit the wall so well."

Ronald raised his head, he was the same strange man wearing black-rimmed glasses last time, explaining to himself what emotional memory was.

"Eh..." Ronald was speechless in embarrassment.

"Are you here to peek at the audition too?" the man said softly to him, "Don't make too much noise, or they'll hear it from inside."

"Peek?" Ronald followed the strange man's gaze. It turned out that there was a small door on the wall of the audition room, and the top was transparent glass. That strange man, just behind the door, observed the audition actors from a distance.

"Why are you peeking here?"

"You know, I'm not good at dealing with people. I'll be nervous when I face them, so I'll sneak a peek here during the audition. I'll write down the right ones and talk to Julia later." Strange. The man lowered his voice and explained to Ronald.

So he was the director of the new film that Julia was working for?Ronald thought to himself.

"But you seem to be talking to me normally, you don't look like an introvert at all."

"Yeah, yeah, I talk non-stop when I meet the right people, but I get scared when I meet strangers. Last time you hit the wall very well, I just talked to you, and I feel like we are the same Humanoids are the kind of people with strong observation skills.”

"Are you the director?"

"Yes, I'm the director. And a well-known clarinetist in Manhattan."

"Can you look at my script for me and give me some advice?"

Ronald handed over his rewritten Doris scene. It just so happens that he is also the director, let's see if he can get an evaluation from this guy.

"Why not? It happens that this group of actors is very boring."

The director and clarinetist straightened his glasses, picked up the two versions of the plot of Doris before and after Ronald's revision, walked to the light and began to watch.

"Yeah, that's great. I'm not wrong, you have a strong sense of observation. I've seen a lot of shy performers in the orchestra, but I haven't seen a shy singer."

"It's also great here. Watching the exploitation films at the midnight show, the psychological barrier was opened by the enthusiasm. Are these made up by you or is it true? Do they really watch movies like this at the midnight show and act themselves?"

"Oh yes. They have a fan club, most have seen The Rocky Horror Show over 150 times."

"More than 150 times? If only someone liked my movie so much. My fans haven't watched it so many times. Even film critics only watch it once. I really envy this director in this regard, although He shoots garbage."

"I really hope that my films can also get such a high evaluation from the public, but most of my audience are intellectuals, and the general public don't like to watch it."

The director and clarinetist started talking to himself again.

Has a film critic reviewed his films? It seems that his movies are good, maybe Alan Parker will recognize his evaluation?
"If it's convenient for you, can you give me some written comments on the script? For some reason, I need an authoritative third-party opinion, sir?"

"Do you still have other parts of the script? Sometimes the fragments of the script may not represent the real level."

Ronald hurriedly handed over the final version of the script he got from Antonia, and the parts he wrote on it were all marked with post-it notes.

"Well, this paragraph is very good, very good. Your brushwork is very good, and your observation of life is also very detailed. I just said that we are the same kind of people."

"Huh? How did you write this conversation about girls robbing men? The darker the blackberry, the sweeter the taste. It's a very interesting wording. I think you have a talent for writing comedies, why don't you try to change the script for me next time? "

"By the way, you can call me Woody, Woody Allen."

"Thank you, Mr. Woody Allen. My name is Ronald Lee." Shaking Woody Allen's hand, "Can you give me a third-party opinion?"

At this time, Julia heard the movement outside, and after stopping the audition, she came out and saw that it was Ronald pestering Woody Allen, "Ronald, don't disturb Woody. We are still auditioning."

"It's okay, Julia, Ronald is great, I'm reading his script, it's great."

"I'm not satisfied with this group of actors, Julia. Why not try Ronald? I think he hits the wall very well, maybe he has talent as an actor."

"Are you serious?" Julia looked at Ronald, not quite understanding what it meant to hit the wall well.

"Of course, he is a very natural performer, and he hits naturally. He is a hundred times better than those artificial actors."

As Woody Allen spoke, he wrote a review of Ronald's script.

"Ronald Lee's modification made this script better. It made the role of Doris from mediocre to excellent. I hope he can modify the lines of my script."

Then after thinking about it, he added a sentence, "Also: Ronald's acting skills are also very natural, and he can be considered for the role of the guy who hit his head against the wall after failing the admission interview. Signed - Woody Allen."

Tear the evaluation out of the notebook, put it in the script and hand it back to Ronald.

"Ronald, when do you want to audition my new film? Julia will arrange it."

"Um, I still have important things to do today, so I don't have time to audition."

"It's okay, I know how to find you, Ronald." Woody Allen winked at him.

"Julia, I apologize for interrupting your audition, but I have something very important to interrupt you."

Ronald briefly described his predicament to Julia, hoping that she would give her script a neutral evaluation.

"Ronnie, you're so funny, you already have Woody's evaluation, that's enough." But Julia still took the script and scanned it quickly.

Ronald looked at Woody, and then at Julia. Is this man some kind of big shot?
"You don't know Woody, do you? He is the most powerful director in New York. In 1977, he directed and starred in 'Annie Hall', beating George Lucas and winning the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay, and the most Two awards for best director."

"Don't talk about it, George is just not liked by the judges." Woody looked a little shy when he heard others praised him.

Ronald looked at Woody in surprise. The little man had won two Oscars. His evaluation of his script is definitely strong enough.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Allen, I don't know who you are. In high school, I was so busy making money that I didn't have much time to watch movies."

"Don't worry about it, keep writing scripts, and you will succeed one day. Remember to come to the bar of the Carlyle Hotel to see me play when you are free. I will cooperate with the New Orleans Jazz Band there every Monday night." Woody Allen said again He blinks.

Ronald apologized to Julia again, and hugged her goodbye. He took the script and went straight out the door.

He rushed to the telephone booth, stuffed a few coins, and dialed the number of Robert Donnell Law Firm.

Lindsay must never go to court.

Ah, it worked.

"Is it Rebecca? This is Ronald, I'm looking for Miss Lindsay Dole, please ask her to answer the phone."

"Lindsay, it's Ronald. I got a key testimony. I can try to negotiate again. Are you in the firm? I'll go find you."
