Chapter 53 Famous Four Seas

Chapter 53
Take the big bags and go back to the artist's apartment.Just happened to meet a Jewish violinist walking up the apartment stairs.

He seemed to have just come back from street busking, and he still had a violin case in his hand.Seeing that the two of them had purchased a lot of things, they offered to help Ronald and Meg carry a few things upstairs.

"This is sausage, your ethnicity seems to be..." Ronald quickly stopped.

"It doesn't matter. I am an immigrant from the Souville Union. The Jews there eat sausages. The taste of your sausage reminds me of my hometown. Is it from a Ukrainian restaurant?" the violinist said.

After opening the apartments, Ronald asked the Jew to wait for a while, went into the kitchen and distributed a piece of sausage, wrapped it up and gave it to him.

"Thank you for helping us, this is a gift for you."

"Thank you, my friend, and may the Lord bless you."

……

After tidying up the room and laying out the newly bought tablecloths and napkins, Meg divided the deli takeaways from the Ukrainian restaurant into white china cutlery from Chinatown.

"boom!"

Ronald opened a bottle of red wine and poured two glasses.

"May your dreams come true and be famous all over the world, Meg."

"May your dreams come true too, Ronnie."

Ronald did not turn on the light, but lit a candle, and Meg gave him a sweet look, pleased with the little surprise.

In the dim candlelight, Ronnie and Meg clinked glasses and slowly tasted the red wine.

The deli takeaway bought in Ukrainian restaurant tastes good.Meg fed Ronald like a child.

"Open your mouth, Ronnie." Meg took a piece of sausage with her hands, dipped it in the dipping sauce, and fed him.

"Ahh..." Ronald ate the sausage and pretended to bite Meg's finger.

Meg shrank back with a giggle.

Ronald grabbed his hand abruptly and ate the sauce.

Meg did not expect this move, and a cloud crept up her cheek.

After a while, Meg pulled her stiff fingers out of Ronald's hand. She rubbed her hands together uneasily, as if to keep the sauce from sticking to her fingers for too long.

Ronald took out his handkerchief, soaked some water from the glass, took Meg's hand, and wiped his fingers carefully one by one.

The two seemed to be speechless for a while.

Meg's face seemed to turn redder, like a rainbow covering the setting sun.I don't know if it's the reflection of the candlelight or the reaction of the red wine. Under the dim candlelight, Ronald can't figure it out either.

Ronald just stared, unblinking, into Meg's eyes, the only thing clear in the candlelight.

He was intoxicated by her gentle gaze.

There was a faint sound of a violin outside the wall. It was the Jewish violinist upstairs playing the "Meditation" by Jules Massenet.

With a "huh", Ronald blew out the candle.

……

An hour passed.

Turn on the floor-to-ceiling bedside lamp in the bedroom, and the lampshade reveals warm light.

Ronald got up and made a pot of black tea bought from Chinatown. He finally got rid of the cheap taste of teabags.

Pour the Chinese black tea into two warm and delicate white porcelain cups, put them on a tray, and bring them into the bedroom.

The thick tea has a little red reflection, and the warm and restrained fragrance is not the kind of gaudy artificial essence, but the natural tea fragrance.

The tea leaves are picked from tea trees less than 20 years old, and are specially selected from the tender and alive buds before the Grain Rain, carefully baked and fermented.

Not the kind Ronald drank in Los Angeles, cheap old Darjeeling tea, tea bags made from mixed tea stems, can be compared.

The taste of nature is completely different.

The introverted tea fragrance, paired with warm tea, after drinking, the stomach will be warmed up.It seems that the whole person is full of vitality and full of youthful strength.

Meg ordered another glass.

Meg adjusted her posture and leaned into Ronald's arms, wrapping Ronald's arms around her neck as a cushion.

"I feel safe, Ronnie."

"Me too."

After lying down for a while, Meg was a little shy, but still refused to stay in Ronald's apartment, and insisted on going back to the apartment she shared in the next block to sleep.

Ronald had no choice but to send her to the place and then go home by himself.

Reminiscing about all the things he had with Meg on the bed, Ronald went to sleep contentedly.

……

"Today I borrowed an amazing movie and came back to watch it." A strange male voice spoke in Chinese.

"What movie?"

"I don't know, that bastard refused to say, only that the girls from the drama school cried."

With a bang, a tape was eaten into the video recorder, the snowflakes on the TV receded, and red letters on a black background appeared again, with familiar subtitles:

"FBI Warning"

After the copyright notice, a lion appeared on the TV screen, and it was MGM's lion roaring.

This time it's an MGM movie, Ronald said to himself while he was half asleep.

On the black screen, the title of the film appeared:

"FAME"

The subtitles below also show the Chinese translation, in four large characters:

"famous all over the world"

By the way, Meg's dream is to become famous (Fame).

A loud sound came from the poor-quality TV stereo, many people were talking, making a lot of noise.

A cafeteria scene appeared on the screen, which was somewhat similar to the high school cafeteria I had studied in, small and lively.

A student started to make neat jazz drum beats on the table with a drumstick, then a tambourine, then a piano, then a saxophone, then a violin, a cello...

Various musical instruments belonging to different musical styles joined the ensemble one after another, but they were surprisingly harmonious.

Ballet dancers, jazz dancers, modern dancers... one by one began to twist their bodies.

The dancers became more and more excited, jumped on the piano, and danced with the dining table.

The cafeteria aunt also began to dance to the rhythm.

Then a black girl, sitting next to the pianist, began to sing with a strong metallic voice:
"Macaroni and salmon,
Our favorite dish.

She got a hot lunch,

This is true for all.

......"

"Hot Lunch?" The name is so familiar.

After a while of confusion, Ronald saw another dance scene:
To be precise, it is a practice scene.

A group of ballet girls are doing daily homework such as leg pressing in the practice room.

"Circle around, bend down, and return to the right position!" The teacher was shouting the password.

The two girls at the front of the camera are practicing and talking.

"Hi, I'm Lisa Monroe."

"Hilary Van Dole."

"I like your exercise uniform, I saw it in the window of Bandol Department Store."

"My stepmother bought it for me."

"Really? I don't mind having a stepmother like that."

"She didn't buy it for me, she wanted my dad to think she cared about me, and she loved shopping herself. Every time she did, she felt so good."

"Sounds good, I think I like your stepmother."

"Hmph, I can give her to you"

"Pay attention, pay attention, why aren't you sweating? Use some snacks!" The teacher began to verbally remind one of the girls.

The movements of the girls are very graceful.

Hey, the one behind her, the girl in the green exercise suit and the sky blue skirt, looks like Meg Tilly.

No, she is Meg, and Ronald saw the girl's face clearly in the camera.

Could it be that she also participated in this movie called "Famous"?It looks like it's still a group show.

Another bout of drowsiness, half asleep, Ronald was on the verge of falling asleep.

Suddenly, a burst of disco music broke out on the TV.

A man who looked a bit like the big-headed taxi driver he met at the airport drove a yellow taxi of the same model and stopped at the school gate.

On the roof of his taxi, two large horns were installed. The driver turned on the power and turned up the volume. The disco music came from the two loudspeakers.

"Baby, look at me...

tell me what did you see
You haven't seen the best of me yet.

give me some time
I'll make you forget everything..."

The taxi driver started yelling:
"This song was written by my son, Bruno Martelli."

"Play it on 46th Street today, and hold a concert at Madison Square Garden tomorrow, hahaha..."

All the students, after hearing this moving song, rushed out of the school one by one,

Jazz dance, ballet, modern dance, ... all started dancing.

They made the street their stage, and began to dance,
They occupy the streets, block the traffic, dance non-stop,
They even stood on the top of the car and danced on the roof of the car. The driver honked the horn wildly, but they couldn't suppress the dancing rhythm.

Even Ronald wanted to jump up,
The disco rhythm in 4/4 time is very easy to step on, twist the waist, and send the hips...

"Ah..." Ronald fell off the bed again.
