Evolution: A Warlock's Rise To Power

Chapter 226: Lunch With The Beneils

"He, he, it seems like you are getting along well with Brax."  Mrs. Beneil said while going up to her husband.

"Pah, this stupid face is just tiresome to argue with.  Ignore his silly words."

"What, Father-in-law, that hurts.  You were the one who brought up me marrying your daughter."

Holly tried to hide her laughter while Jenna's cheeks we painted in a rose color as she shyly hid her face.

"Why don't you both stop with the name calling."  Jenna said softly while keeping her head down.

Since it was Jenna's request, Brax wasn't going to keep calling Mr. Beneil father-in-law, and Mr. Beneil wasn't one to purposely upset his daughter.

""Fine.""  They said at the same time.

"Since that is settled why don't we sit down for lunch."  Mrs. Beneil said.  She then lead them to the dining room.

After taking a seat at the table the dishes were quickly served by a maid who wheeled a cart out of the kitchen.  Then Mrs. Beneil turned to Brax.

"My husband seems quite interested in the investment opportunity that you proposed to him.  Do you mind telling us about it, or is the matter still a secret?"

"Come on dear, you don't want to hear about the work I am collaborating with Stupid Face."  Mr. Beneil said.

"Normally I don't like it when you talk about work at home, but this concerns your Son-In-law, so I am interested."

Holly laughed as her mother joined in teasing her father.

"Ah, it is no secret at all."  Brax said.  "There is this company called InvinoTech that is working on a product, but they ran out of funding.  They originally contact my company and several others to look for funding, but I made them a counteroffer to take over their company."

"Why would they come to you?  Your company is brand new and not very well know.  Are you sure it isn't a scam?"  Holly asked while picking at her food.

"I thought the same at first."  Brax answered.  "And your father also looked into the company.  The are a legitimate operation.  After digging around I found that the companies they contacted all have one thing in company.  They made a lot of money in Evolution."

"Oh, does their product have something to do with that game?"  Mrs. Beneil asked.

Brax set down his fork after swallowing his food and answered.  "Yes, you are correct.  They are making a new full dive system and intending to put it on the market."

"Oh really.  Are they making something that is even more immersive than the new gaming capsules?"  Asked holly.

"No, this product isn't targeting the hardcore gamers.  It is for well off casual players and businesspeople who are entering the game.  It is bedding set that lets you enter the game without any other equipment."

Mr. Beneil spoke up.  "It is a good idea.  Its connection is better than the helmets but not quite as good as the capsules.  It only requires you to use special sheets, pillowcases, and requires you to put a mat underneath your mattress.  After that you just have to click a remote to enter the game. It has most of the advantages of the capsules like the muscle stimulation effects.  That way you won't feel sore and fatigues when you log out and won't suffer any harm from laying in be for so long."

"Sound's interesting."  Jenna said.

"I think there are a lot of people who will buy the system.  My aunt always complains when my uncle shares a bed with her while wearing that clunky gaming helmet, but she doesn't want him to go to a capsule and leave her alone in bed overnight.  I don't believe he is the only one with this problem."

Mr. Beneil nodded.  "From my estimation, I think at least 20% of the current games population is in similar situations and can afford the product.  It seems to be a good investment."

"Sounds neat.  Make sure to gift me one when they are ready to hit the market."  Holly said.

"Me too."  Jenna added.

Mrs. Beneil turned to her daughter.  "Why do you need one when you can go and use Brax's?"

"Mom!"

"Emma!"

Both Jenna and Mr. Beneil exclaimed at the same time.

"What?  They are both adults.  Do you really think that our daughter will stay at home forever and never share a bed with our Son-In-Law?"  She said to her husband.

"Don't call Stupid Face our Son-in-law.  If you give that punk an inch, he will take a mile.  Besides I don't want to think about one of my precious treasures sharing a bed with a man."

"Fine, fine, I won't talk about them sharing a bed together, but you should prepare yourself.  The two have been together for a while in that game and now they are even getting married inside.  You know that we have never seen Jenna get this excited and assertive about something before.  It is only a matter of time before they get married in real life."

Mr. Beneil grumbled while eating his food and casting glares at Brax.

"Oh come on, be nice.  Is it really so bad?  You are going into business with the young man and I spend time with his aunt at least once every two days.  His family isn't bad and he isn't some playboy young master.  Even last night in bed you said he reminds you of yourself when you were youn-."

"Hey, don't share our pillow talk with others.  Look at how embarrassed our daughter is."  Mr. Beneil said trying to quickly change the topic while pointing at Jenna's whose whole face resemble a ripe tomato.

"Yeah, I am sure that is the reason she is embarrassed."  Said Holly while rolling her eyes.  Holly who normally did the most talking at the meals was enjoying watching the show today.  She found it very entertaining.

Jenna interjected to get the attention off of her and onto something else.  "Mom, I thought aunt Helen was going to be joining us for lunch."

"She was planning on it, but she got caught up in something or another.  You know how Helen is."

"Don't worry, Helen said she plans on staying for a while so you will be able to introduce her to Brax eventually."  Mr. Beneil added.

After lunch the table was cleared by the maid and tea was served.  They continued to chat for another twenty minutes.  They talked about nothing important but Brax enjoyed himself all the same.

"Hey Jenna, what do you think about breaking out one of the jigsaw puzzles that we used to do when you were little.  I thought it would be fun."  Mr. Beneil said.

"Umm, sorry dad, but I told Brax that would spend the afternoon with him.  But that sounds fun.  Would you want to do it tomorrow?"

"Oh… That is fine.  But make sure you don't stay out to late."

"Stop trying to split them Up."  Mrs. Beneil said, bickering with her husband.  "That is fine dear, we can do a puzzle tomorrow as a family.  You don't need to come back tonight."

Mr. Beneil grumbled and ran off to the den.

"He, he, don't mind him."  Mrs. Beneil said to Brax and Jenna.

Not much later, Jenna and Brax were in his car and heading back to his place.

"Looks like you are staying the night with me."

"Geeze, my mom was pretty much selling me off to you.  You know the other day, I walked into the living room while your aunt was over, and I heard them both talking about grandkids.  It was so scary that I quickly fled."

"Ha, ha, it seems that your mother is quite supportive of our relationship."

"Yeah, and as much as my dad complains, I think he likes you.  At least he treats you a thousand times better than any of the guys who came over to take Holly out."

Brax opened the door to let Jenna into his place.  "We have about four hours till we need to log in, what do you want to do?"  He said with while eyeing her long legs that were exposed in her short skirt.

Jenna purposefully turned her head away from him and spoke in a soft whisper, but Brax could still hear her.  "I don't mind if we have some fun."
