Chapter 13: CHAPTER THIRTEEN: VULNERABLE MOMENT

Jocosa's tears are left behind being frozen by the wintry winds as her feet carry her until she collapses tiredly.

Curling up near a close hollow, dark tree covered in the fallen snow, Jocosa finally has a moment to catch up on everything.

It is almost unnerving for her not to be able to remember where she was before she was found lying in the plushy snow.

Does she have a family back wherever struck with worry waiting for her or is she all alone like when she was found?

She desperately grasps at her hair trying to remember something. Something, anything to help.

But nothing.

Nothing.

Nothing comes to her.

Letting her near-frozen fists repeatedly strike the tree near her, she finally lets her frustrated cries out to be heard by anyone near. She curls into a ball and leans on the tree for support as she wallows in self-pity.

Hearing a rather random noise Jocosa looks up and scans the vast white area around her. Soon she dismisses the thought thinking she is being paranoid. Reasoning it with the fact that she is in the forest and there are other animals around her.

Letting her thoughts run back on their original track, she feels as if she is that one duck that got lost from its mother and siblings and is left all alone. She has nowhere to go except to the nice girl's house, but it seems as if her brother isn't that fond of her stay.

He has vocalized it before, so it only makes her lingering doubts concrete and makes her feel like an unwanted burden. All these feelings feel as if someone is choking her from the inside, as her brain and heart began to hurt from all these emotions and thinking.

All she can do is helplessly cuddle herself against the hollow, frosted wood.

Once again she hears a noise, but this time it is more distinctive, like a snapping twig. She glances up only to lock eyes with the blonde stranger from earlier on.

Feeling confused, her mouth gapes open to question him but he suddenly charges straight for her.
