Chapter 91: Florencia

Everyone was stunned by the sight. The guy might've been arrogant and foolish, but he was still an intermediate mage.

The other nine students from Florencia University adopted cautious battle stances.

Ben grinned and started bouncing like a boxer, waiting for their attacks.

One guy rushed at Ben, throwing two punches in quick succession. Ben swayed left and right, dodging the blows with ease.

He countered with a kick that sent the guy flying. He thought it'd knock him out of the arena, but a wall of earth shot up behind the kid, blocking his exit.

A fierce gust of wind suddenly lifted Ben off the ground, hoisting him several meters into the air.

A spear of fire followed, striking him mid-flight. Ben gritted his teeth as he felt the heat and cursed himself for realizing he couldn't pull off the same stunts as the Dragon Raider.

He spun through the air and landed on the ground with relative calm. Part of his chest was scorched, but it healed quickly, leaving his skin untouched.

He clenched his teeth and pulled his hands out of his pockets.

He stomped the ground, cracking part of the arena floor, and charged toward the guy he'd kicked earlier.

The kid had just recovered and gotten to his feet when Ben pounced on him.

The guy raised his hands in defense, but Ben drove a punch into his stomach, knocking the wind out of him.

He followed with an uppercut that left the kid dazed and tried to send him flying again with a kick, but several ice knives appeared at his side out of nowhere, forcing him to halt the attack.

Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a guy raising his hands, forming various ice weapons.

The ground beneath Ben shifted, and suddenly a section of the floor rose, leaving him towering above the others.

A tall, muscular guy leapt into the air, appearing above Ben, and threw a punch that sent him flying.

Ben skidded across the ground for a few seconds before managing to regain his footing and stabilize himself.

He stared at the nine students glaring back at him with serious expressions.

He'd already forgotten his attempt to look cool by mimicking the Dragon Raider. Now he was in full battle mode, his heart pounding with excitement at the challenge.

Elemental mages were just slightly stronger humans with weak magic. They could barely do anything to him—only intermediate mages could give him a fight.

Even then, not all intermediate mages could. These were the best of their generation, the nation's future.

Though not as strong or deranged as N2, they were a good training ground.

Ben started twisting his body, producing small cracking sounds as his muscles stretched.

He planned to use all nine of them to practice his martial arts, without relying on any of his elements.

He massaged his fists and charged at the nine guys. The one who'd thrown the punch came to meet him, unleashing a flurry of blows.

Ben dodged some and deflected the rest. He grabbed the guy's hand and used leverage to slam him to the ground. Several ice knives appeared at his back, and his body twisted like a corkscrew to dodge them.

His body snapped back to its original shape, carrying the momentum for extra force.

Both legs spread wide, sending two guys who were approaching from his sides flying.

The move left him defenseless in the air for a brief moment.

But that was all it took.

*[Impulse]*

A guy with long brown hair appeared beside him, brimming with wind element energy.

Ben's eyes clearly saw the guy's figure vanish in a flash of speed and reappear in front of him.

His eyes widened, and he tried to move his body to dodge, but even with his sharp reflexes, he couldn't see when the guy unleashed a barrage of punches across his body.

All he could feel was the pain that came with them. For several seconds, Ben hung in the air, battered, before being sent crashing to the other side of the arena.

The stadium fell silent for a moment, expectant.

What seemed like a boring, routine match had turned into one of the most thrilling so far.

A second after hitting the ground, Ben sprang up with a leap, looking completely fine.

The wounds and bruises that might've been inflicted healed rapidly beneath his disguise.

"That hurt!" Ben cracked his neck and let out a small laugh.

"He's a tough bastard," the Florencia captain muttered, nursing a headache.

Though their university wasn't considered among the best, they'd always ranked between the top 20, even 15.

This year, they'd come in optimistic, boasting two strong intermediate mages and great team coordination.

Their goal was the top 11, but now this weird guy had gotten in their way.

"Guys, we can't hold back," the captain shouted firmly. "Give it everything!"

His hands touched the ground, and it began trembling instantly.

"So you're the one who stopped that kid from being eliminated," Ben said with a grin, unfazed by the shaking ground.

The guy who'd stayed back, protected by his teammates until now, stepped forward to fight, ice knives swirling around him.

The guy Ben had slammed to the ground got up as if nothing had happened. His back was torn, and blood dripped from his fists, forming a red energy around them.

"What's that?" Ben raised an eyebrow.

A gust of wind ruffled his hair, and a chill ran down his spine.

On instinct, he sidestepped and saw the guy who'd beaten him earlier appear beside him.

"Your speed's insane!"

Ben got distracted for a second, and that was all it took.

*[Ice Time]*

Ice flooded the entire stadium, leaving Ben completely immobilized, trapped like a giant ice statue.

His heart raced as he sensed the danger and tried to break free, but his body wouldn't respond.

Whether it was his arms or legs, everything was frozen—his muscles, bones, even his thoughts seemed slower.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the guy with the glowing red fists charging at him fast.

Unable to dodge, he had to take the hit.

The punch turned his world upside down. His mind went blank for a second, disoriented.

Then came the second, third, and fourth punches.

Like a ragdoll, he was sent crashing to the ground, creating a massive crater.

The captain acted instantly.

*[Earth Prison]*

Several stone walls formed around Ben, and a second later, they crushed him like a pancake.

*Ohhh!*

*Ahhh!*

The crowd gasped and flinched at the scene, while many others were thrilled by Florencia's impressive display.

Everyone sighed in relief, seeing no further movement from Ben.

"Florencia's team is one to watch," said a Drakthar professor. "Their teamwork makes them dangerous."

The professor glanced at a girl who'd been gathering magic for a sneak attack from behind. If Ben hadn't been trapped, she would've unleashed that powerful spell.

"Phew." The captain let out a restrained sigh. "Take care of the rest," he said, looking at the nine students who'd stood frozen, watching Ben.

Several of them wanted to help Ben, but with their pathetic strength, all they'd have managed was to get in the way.

They didn't resist when two of Florencia's guys kicked them out of the arena.

They didn't resist… except for Diana.

When one of Florencia's guys shoved her, Diana spun around, grabbed him by the shirt, and hurled herself out of the arena, dragging him down with her.

Macaryo and Ned's eyes lit up as they seized the moment of shock to toss the other guy out too.

Rubicon's entire team was eliminated, and five of Florencia's team were gone.

"Look at those idiots," the girl who'd been preparing the magic snapped, clicking her tongue in annoyance.

The captain slapped his forehead and shook his head.

On the stage, only the captain, the girl, the wind-element guy, the red-fist guy, and one last guy who hadn't acted yet remained.

"Good thing we already won," the wind-element guy said with a grin, touching the captain's stone walls.

"Y-" the captain started to nod when one of the walls shattered. A bloodied hand burst out, grabbed the guy by the head, and slammed him against the wall.

Slowly, Ben emerged from within, drenched in his own blood. He seized the guy by the neck and hurled him out of the arena.

Silence fell over the stadium as Ben reappeared.

"Alright." Ben walked slowly. "Now you've pissed me off."

In a blink, he appeared in front of the guy with the red fists and threw three punches.

Punches the guy managed to dodge, even landing a counterattack. But Ben slammed his legs, knocking him to the ground.

With two more punches, he left him unconscious.

"Bastard!" The girl raised her hands, trying to cast her spell.

A fierce heat began to sweep through the stadium as a massive amount of magic gathered.
