Chapter 74: monster
"Now." N2 wiped his blood-covered fists with a black handkerchief and stared at Suzanne with a smile. "What should we do with you?"
The phone in Suzanne's hand trembled, and fear coursed through her body.
Cerberus and Wolfy approached the girl, growling threateningly.
N2 laughed and made a gesture with his hand.
Two of N2's trusted men approached Suzanne.
Cerberus and Wolfy growled as they crouched, clearly intending to defend Suzanne.
Their size had grown significantly since their summoning, and now they easily reached Suzanne's knee height.
"Kill the dogs." N2 didn't give the men a second glance and kept his eyes on Ben's unconscious body.
His chest was caved in, with severe burns covering his body. Despite everything and with great difficulty, Ben was still breathing. The mask still covered his face, and N2 couldn't help but feel a bit of curiosity.
He stepped closer, intending to remove the mask from Ben's face.
"Arrrgghh!!"
N2 was startled by the scream of pain and turned around with a frown.
One of his trusted men was on the ground, screaming in pain while clutching his leg.
A chunk of the man's leg was missing. Blood gushed out, staining the floor.
Meanwhile, the other man was in an even worse situation.
Cerberus had his jaws firmly clamped around the man's neck. Blood poured from the man's throat as he struggled violently against the dog, even stabbing it, but the dog only bit down harder.
With red eyes, Cerberus tore out the man's throat and savored the blood in his snout.
Wolfy pounced as well, ripping off a part of the man's hand.
The man couldn't even scream due to his missing throat and collapsed on the floor, clutching his neck and bleeding out.
After finishing with the first man, the dogs didn't hesitate to attack the one on the ground screaming in pain.
Both dogs lunged at the man's face, and within seconds, accompanied by his screams of agony, they tore it apart.
The wounds on Cerberus's body began to heal as he consumed more flesh.
N2 frowned.
"Those aren't ordinary dogs." His heart skipped a beat as he considered the possibility. "Summons."
Slowly, he turned around in disbelief to see the shadow of a man standing behind him.
Before he could get a good look, a punch to the face sent him flying across the room.
Ben's wounds began to heal rapidly. His burns disappeared quickly, and his chest returned to normal in mere seconds.
Stretching, Ben heard his bones crack, which oddly brought him satisfaction.
"Now that we've warmed up," Ben said, looking at N2 lying on the ground. "How about we get serious?"
N2 got up from the floor and wiped the blood from his mouth.
He gave Ben a cold, deadly glare. The playful attitude from earlier was gone.
Flames began to erupt from his body.
Before he could fully stand, Ben suddenly disappeared.
N2's eyes widened in disbelief. This wasn't a matter of speed.
One moment, Ben was standing a few meters away, and the next, he was gone. N2's eyes couldn't even catch a blur.
His mind went blank in shock as a fist emerged from his own shadow.
The punch was so fast, strong, and unexpected that all N2 could do was take it head-on.
The punch hit his chin and sent him flying into the air with such force that he even hit the warehouse ceiling.
Ben disappeared into his shadow again and reappeared in the shadow N2 cast on the ceiling.
Ben appeared upside down, which disoriented him for a moment, but he quickly adjusted.
He grabbed N2 by one of his legs and, spinning several times in the air, hurled him toward the ground.
N2's body hit the floor like a missile, creating a massive crater, but Ben wasn't done.
He used his Shadow Jump again to appear in his own shadow on the ceiling. He slammed his feet against the ceiling with tremendous force and propelled himself toward N2.
Ben carried so much force and speed that he damaged part of the ceiling with his leap.
N2 was buried in the ground, several of his ribs broken, his vision blurry, and pain tormenting his entire body.
He couldn't move a single muscle, but he could see Ben reappear on the ceiling and launch himself downward.
In Ben's right hand, a massive amount of curse and darkness magic swirled uncontrollably.
N2's heart raced as he felt the shadow of death looming over him. Adrenaline surged through his body.
In a final desperate attempt, he used all the magic he had for his most powerful spell.
**[Fire Dragon]**
Several dragons made of fire erupted from his body and flew through the air, foretelling destruction and calamity.
"Argggggg!!"
His face twisted in rage and desperation as he watched the masked man falling from the ceiling.
Ben was oblivious to N2's thoughts but was genuinely surprised by the man's strength.
It was the first time since acquiring his evil system that someone had given him a good fight.
His heart raced with excitement. The feeling of going all out without holding back was incredibly satisfying.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!"
His laughter echoed through the warehouse as he fell at high speed, ignoring the fire dragons heading his way.
He tore through them like an unstoppable missile and landed on top of N2, delivering a punch that not only shook the abandoned warehouse but the entire street.
Suzanne's legs wouldn't stop trembling as she watched the destruction the two men had caused.
They were no longer on the same level as ordinary people with a bit of magic.
They were superhuman. Now Suzanne understood why intermediate mages were held in such high regard.
And if this was the destructive power of two intermediate mages, she couldn't imagine what advanced mages were capable of.
The smoke cleared, and Suzanne could clearly see Ben standing over N2, his arm piercing the latter's lifeless body.
Ben's entire body was burned and charred. Parts of his skin had peeled away, giving him a horrifying appearance.
A small part of the mask had cracked, allowing Suzanne to see part of Ben's smile.
Ben's smile looked grotesque due to the melted flesh and missing skin.
"Yes, I only have brute strength," Ben whispered to the corpse in his hands. "But when brute strength is great enough, it can destroy any obstacle by force."
Ben pulled his mangled arm out of N2's body and slowly approached Suzanne, who was still recording.
His steps were slow and deliberate, partly due to the pain and partly because Ben wanted it that way.
The smile on his face disappeared as he approached, staring directly into Suzanne's phone.
When he was close enough, he spoke.
"Those who harm others—murderers, rapists, sadists, the deranged—will come to know me very well."
"N2 is dead," Ben said, pointing at the camera. "And you're next."

What did you think of the battle?
Do I write fight scenes well or not?
I'd like to think so, since I write them exactly as I imagine them.
