Chapter 69: jail
With the door down, Ben stood staring at the messy, unkempt living room.
There were beer bottles and old pizza boxes scattered on the floor. The place looked more like a dump than a home.
He closed his eyes for a second to focus on the connection he had with his summon and felt it below him.
In a moment of madness and desperation, Ben raised his fist, charged with his four types of magic, and punched the ground.
The energy of the four magics didn't mix and even seemed unstable.
That unstable combination made his punch even more destructive—both for the floor, which collapsed from the impact, and for his own arm, which deformed horribly as chaotic energies surged from it.
But he didn't care.
He fell with the rubble and stared at the man who was pulling down his pants.
Shen Huiliang's eyes shone with happiness and hope when she saw Ben arrive.
Ben's face was twisted with rage.
"Who the hell are you?" the man asked, his pants down and his penis exposed.
"Your doom!" Ben destroyed the basement floor as he put too much force into his foot and shot toward the man.
Shen Huiliang watched with wide eyes as Ben's left fist connected with the man's face. Maybe it was because she was full of adrenaline or some other circumstance, but Shen Huiliang saw everything in slow motion.
Ben's fist connecting with the man's face. His expression twisting and sinking, bones breaking, and blood gushing out.
Shen Huiliang never expected that watching such a bloody scene would fill her with so much satisfaction and joy.
The man flew back and was embedded in the wall.
Dante and Ryuji entered shortly after, hearing all the noise.
Dante's face turned pale as he approached the unconscious Judy on the floor.
His hands trembled as he tried to touch her but seemed unable to. Tears began to stream down his face as he saw the beautiful and innocent girl reduced to a bloody mess.
Even with trembling hands, Dante forced himself to pick her up from the floor.
Ryuji untied Shen Huiliang, who, as soon as she was free, ran to Cerberus and held him in her arms.
Cerberus had fought to keep them safe, even at the cost of his own well-being.
Unfortunately, he was still a puppy and was seriously injured.
"Get out of here," Ben said without taking his eyes off the man in the wall. "Take them to a hospital. I'll cover all the expenses. Just make sure they get the best treatment."
Ryuji nodded and helped Shen Huiliang, who was bruised, to walk.
Dante carried Judy in his arms and paused for a moment before leaving, looking at the bloodied Judy.
"Ben," his voice was almost a whisper, as if he was struggling to say the words, but Ben heard him. "Make it hurt."
Ben clenched both fists and nodded.
"He'll never touch another girl again!"
Dante nodded and left.
He hadn't even left the basement when he heard the clear sounds of punches and cries, but his expression hardened, and he continued walking.
As he left the house, Dante noticed that the police had started arriving.
"Oh, great timing!" he thought sarcastically.
When the police entered the basement, all they found was Ben covered in blood and the killer's body parts scattered everywhere.
Ben was taken out of the house in handcuffs, under the disbelieving eyes of Shen Huiliang.
"Are you crazy?! He saved us!!"
The paramedic from the ambulance stopped her from running toward the patrol car where Ben was being held.
Dante let the paramedics tend to Judy and stared intently at Ben in the patrol car.
Ben felt his gaze and smiled at him. He was covered in blood, and his smile looked a bit macabre, but all Dante felt was sadness.
Ben kept smiling as if nothing had happened and moved his lips deliberately so Dante could read them.
"You have to know how to do evil when it's needed."
Dante smiled.
He didn't know what would happen to Ben after being arrested. But it wasn't uncommon for people to be released due to lack of evidence, corruption, or even reduced sentences.
Dante felt that none of those punishments were enough for that disgusting man.
The fraternity guys quickly heard the news and joined them.
The case quickly caught the attention of the neighbors and passersby.
And the news spread fast.

"Back here again," Ben sat in the interrogation room with an ironic smile on his face.
He broke the handcuffs and held them up innocently.
"I don't like handcuffs," he said, placing his hands on the table.
He knew interrogation rooms were constantly monitored.
He was right.
In a separate room, several police officers were surprised to see him easily destroy the handcuffs.
But they didn't do anything to stop him.
Ben waited for about 10 minutes before a police officer entered the room.
He looked old and serious.
He placed a folder with a few photos of the basement, where various parts of the killer's body were scattered.
The head was separated from the rest of the body, and the expression of terror on the man's face sent a shiver down the old officer's spine.
"You killed him, didn't you?!"
Ben looked at the photos and raised an eyebrow without responding.
The old officer slammed his fist on the desk.
"Talk!! Did you do this to this man?"
"Does it matter?" Ben replied. "The guy was a killer and a rapist. I don't know why you're bothering to investigate his death. You should just be happy that such trash is no longer with us."
Ben wasn't stupid—he wasn't going to admit anything without his lawyer present.
The old officer clenched his teeth.
"You're a cruel killer, and I won't hesitate to throw you in jail," the old officer pointed at him.
"What are you talking about?" Ben put on his best innocent face. "I'm just a 16-year-old boy who found himself in a very dangerous situation."
Ben wanted to deliver a great performance and even shed a tear.
The old officer looked very agitated.
"So you're not going to confess?!"
"Confess to what? I'm an innocent boy!" Ben almost laughed when he said this but held it in. "You don't have any evidence or witnesses against me. The real question is: Why are you holding me?"
"I'm done with you," the old officer signaled, and two younger officers entered and took him away.
Ben let himself be led by the two officers without resistance.
They took him to a cell shared by several large, tattooed men.
"Let's see if you'll stay silent after this," the old officer smiled sinisterly and locked him in the cell with the other men.
On top of that, he told the supervising officers to take a short break.
The old officer looked at several of the inmates and smiled meaningfully—his intention was clear.
But Ben was all smiles. As he entered the cell, he dusted off his clothes and spoke to the men who were already approaching.
"Nothing personal, guys," Ben stretched and cracked a few bones. "It's just for the points."
None of them understood his words, but words weren't needed for what followed.
The beating of their lives.
When the old officer returned to the cell to check on Ben's beating, he was surprised to see Ben sitting on top of the largest of the criminals.
Another inmate served as a footrest, and several others were giving Ben massages with forced smiles on their faces.
Ben smiled at the old officer and waved.
"What's going on here?" the officer asked, frowning.
He looked specifically at several of the inmates, who could only lower their heads.
They didn't want to be on the officer's bad side... but more than anything, they didn't want to be on Ben's bad side.
They could recognize a killer when they saw one.
The cruelty with which Ben fought wasn't that of a child.
Even though the old officer could make their lives very difficult here or even after they got out.
Ben wouldn't make their lives difficult... he'd end them outright.
No matter what the old officer promised them, they didn't want to help him... not this time.
Ben smiled with satisfaction as he saw this and patted the shoulders of the men, who trembled at his touch.
The old officer was shaking with anger but couldn't do anything about it.
"Sir, the defendant's lawyer has arrived," an officer informed him, which only made his face turn green.
The old officer stared at Ben and signaled the officer to take Ben back to the interrogation room.
On the way to the hall, Ben didn't stop staring at the old policeman and giving him a mocking look.
Ben even went as far as flipping him off with a smile.

With the next chapter, the promised five chapters would be complete, but by mistake, I forgot that I had changed the privilege settings.
But don't worry, I'll try to make up for it.
