EVIL SYSTEM

Chapter 67: Accomplice

"Of course it's me, you idiot," Dante kicked a small trash can. "We were supposed to be eating burgers, and now we have to get rid of a body in the middle of the city."

"Hahaha, sweet, good, and innocent Dante helping me hide a corpse," Ben mocked as he grabbed the broken arms of the corpse.

Dante grabbed the legs of the corpse, and as he tried to lift it, part of the intestines spilled out.

Dante immediately dropped the legs and ran to vomit in a corner.

Ben smirked mockingly.

"Stop laughing, you idiot," Dante's eyes were red from vomiting.

Ben just laughed and raised an eyebrow, cautiously observing a shadow.

He signaled to Dante, who also noticed it.

The shadow began to approach, and the hearts of both Dante and Ben raced.

The shadow came closer and closer, and just as Ben was preparing to attack, he realized the shape the shadow was taking.

He raised an eyebrow with a smile.

A dog!

Indeed, when the shadow was close enough, they could see where it was coming from.

But it wasn't just any dog... It was little Cerberus, looking at them both curiously.

With his little nose, he began to sniff and reached the side of the corpse, licking the blood.

"Cerberus, don't be so gross, that's human blood," Ben scolded, and the little dog looked at him with his big eyes.

What's wrong with this stupid dog?

Before Ben could stop him, the dog opened his mouth and bit one of the corpse's hands.

The sound of chewing and bones breaking made Dante vomit a second time.

Ben watched with his mouth wide open as Cerberus started with the hand but slowly moved up to the arm.

The dog wasn't satisfied with just that. He also began eating the other arm and the legs.

Slowly, his size began to increase, helping him eat more efficiently.

In a matter of minutes, there was no corpse left, just a bloodstain on the ground that Cerberus was also licking.

The size of Cerberus, which was once just the size of a palm, had grown to more than three times his original size.

"So this is how you grow?" Ben picked up the little dog and started touching his teeth. "You've got a strong bite. You better never try to bite anyone without me telling you to. You could really hurt someone."

Woof!!

The little dog barked and nodded as if he understood.

Ben put him back on the ground and kicked him. "Now get out of here."

[Evil Points +10]

Ben smiled as he saw the resentful look on the little dog's face, who lifted his head proudly and walked away with firm steps.

"Stop vomiting already," Ben patted Dante's back with a smile. "We don't have to worry about getting rid of the body anymore."

"Of course!" Dante replied sarcastically, covering his mouth. "All thanks to your summon, who's just as weird as his summoner."

Ben just laughed and dragged him to find a fast-food place.

There, he ordered a pizza for himself and five burgers for Dante.

Ben began eating with delight while taking a good sip of his drink.

"How can you eat like nothing happened?" Dante asked, his stomach still churning.

"I'm hungry," Ben replied. "Though I'm surprised."

Ben stared at Dante. "I've always thought of you as someone too good for this twisted world."

"I thought your first reaction to seeing me like that would be fear and disgust," Ben took a bite of his pizza. "I really never expected that the first thing you'd think of would be helping me hide the body and becoming my accomplice."

Dante frowned in disgust.

"We're friends," Dante pointed at him. "Friends help each other in good times and bad."

"Now I know who to call if I need to hide a body," Ben joked.

"No! Don't call me for that kind of stuff," Dante grabbed a burger and took a bite. "The truth is, I've gotten to know you pretty well in the short time we've known each other."

Ben raised an eyebrow.

"You're really strong, seriously strong," Dante stared into space as if remembering something. "Back in school, the guys with that much power would bully others and flaunt their strength."

"But you don't do that," Dante looked at him. "You're in love with Judy, and even though you're so strong, I know it's never crossed your mind to force yourself on her or take her by force."

Ben frowned in disgust.

Dante laughed in a strange way. "You might not know this, but this kind of thing isn't uncommon. My cousin was once raped by an intermediate mage, and the police did nothing about it."

Ben stared at him intently.

"No one could do anything. Her parents weren't strong or influential," Dante clenched his fist. "We were even ridiculed for it. My cousin couldn't handle the teasing and harassment..."

Dante stared at the ground for a few seconds and then looked back at Ben.

"What I'm trying to say is that you're not someone who abuses their power or thinks they're superior to others because of it," Dante glanced to the side. "That's why I know that if you did that to that man, he deserved it."

Dante's words silenced the conversation for a long time, until Ben looked at Dante and told him a bit of his story.

He told him how he was always bullied by the powerful kids and how he started gaining power.

He explained how he was kidnapped and sold at an illegal auction.

And that was why he was now on the other side of the country, trying to get back home.

He explained that Victor was that effeminate man who grabbed his genitals when he was being sold.

Dante stayed silent for a long time and sighed.

"We live in a very dangerous and cruel world."

"Yeah," Ben nodded with a smile. "You have to do good when you can. But you also have to know how to do evil when it's needed."

Ben looked seriously at Dante. "I didn't leave that place begging them to let me go..."

Ben didn't say anything else, but it was implied what he had to do to escape.

The two ate in silence before heading to the rooms the guys had booked for them.

Ben had already talked to Fan Mo and given him 10,000 argens. Although he initially refused, Ben convinced him it was for the best.

Thanks to that, they didn't have to stay in hostels and share rooms. Ben had his own room, and when he walked toward it, he was surprised by what he saw.

The girl they had rescued on the road was standing by his door.

Ben looked at her, confused.

"Do you need something?"

The girl didn't respond but kept staring at him.

The atmosphere was very awkward, and Ben didn't want to stay there.

With his key card, he prepared to enter his room, but the girl stepped in front of him.

"What?!" Ben asked, not understanding her behavior.

The girl looked very hesitant.

From under her shirt, she pulled out a cylindrical package and handed it to Ben.

"Those who possess one of the treasures are destined to encounter horrors."

Ben's eyes widened as he heard the girl's voice.

It was the first time she had spoken since they found her. They didn't even know her name.

And the first words out of her mouth were so unsettling.

"They are desperately searching for the key," the girl's hands were trembling. "For the love of all that's holy, don't let them find it."

Ben couldn't understand what was happening. Before he could ask her what she meant, she ran off.

Ben stared at the cylindrical object in his hands, bewildered.

He opened the door to his room, placed the object on the nightstand, and lay down on his bed.

He planned to ask the girl what she meant tomorrow when he found her.

Right now, he was too emotionally drained to chase after a disturbed girl.

He stared at the ceiling and scolded himself.

"Idiot!"

Thinking clearly and without anger, he realized he had missed a valuable opportunity to find clues about the organization that had kidnapped and sold him.

If instead of killing Victor right away, he had tortured him for information...

Ben shook his head. There was no point crying over spilled milk.

He couldn't turn back time.

The small cylindrical object shook a little and then settled.

Although he couldn't get information from Victor, he knew someone who could give him the information he needed.

Those guys who had kidnapped him in the first place in his hometown.

One of the things he had to do when he got back to his hometown was find that group and force the information out of them.

Thinking about this, Ben went to sleep.

The next day, he tried to find the girl they had rescued and who had given him the cylindrical object, but he couldn't find her anywhere.

No one had seen her since yesterday, and she seemed to have disappeared as suddenly as she had appeared.
