Evil MC's NTR Harem

Chapter 838 Distraction

Lois' mind raced. The knock came again — slower, heavier, more insistent.

She felt a chill creep up her spine, a cold knot of dread tightening in her gut.

Hands trembling, Lois stood and crept toward the door, each step quieter than the last.

The muffled sounds from the street outside seemed to fade as all her focus narrowed on the figure beyond the door — whoever it was, they weren't making this visit for pleasantries.

Her fingers hovered over the lock, hesitation flooding her.

Should she look through the peephole?

Call the police? Or simply ignore it and pretend she wasn't home?

But something deeper inside told her — this was a moment she couldn't run from.

A shadow moved just beyond the frosted glass. A tall silhouette that felt far too familiar.

Lois's heart hammered wildly as she quietly slid the door open, the dim hallway light spilling over the visitor's face — and the cold smile that greeted her confirmed her worst fears.

"It's you! What are you doing here?" Lois's voice cracked, sharp with anger and disbelief, as she pressed herself against the edge of the doorframe, her fingers curling tightly around the wood.

Her heart hammered against her ribs, a wild beat she couldn't control.

She couldn't believe Ross Oakley was standing here, in her small apartment, at this hour—uninvited, unannounced.

Ross smiled, an unsettling calmness in his eyes.

"I'm just here to visit a friend. Thought I'd drop by with some drinks." Ross smiled, an unsettling calm radiating from him, his eyes dark and unreadable as they slowly scanned her figure.

The dim light from the streetlamps filtered through the thin curtains, casting soft shadows across the curve of her hips and the delicate lace of the nightwear clinging to her body.

His gaze lingered on the swell of her breasts, where the fabric outlined the shape of her hard nipples, betraying the tension she tried desperately to hide.

Lois felt heat rise to her cheeks, burning hot and raw.

She swallowed hard and took a step back, trying to gather what little courage she had left.

"Are you insane? What do you want here? Go back to your mansion and fuck your dozens of wives. I have a boyfriend—a real man. Someone who respects me. He's ten times better than you could ever be."

She braced herself against the door with trembling hands, the cold wood grounding her in a moment of defiance.

But inside, a storm raged—fear, frustration, and something dangerously close to helplessness.

Ross was a force of nature.

The world bent to his will, and she was painfully aware of how small she was in his orbit.

Ross's smile deepened into a smirk, his voice low and smooth like silk laced with venom. "Fine. If that's your wish, I'll respect it… for now." His eyes glinted with a strange amusement, like a predator toying with its prey.

"But if I can't have you, then I suppose I'll have to settle for a close substitute."

He took a slow step back, giving her enough space to breathe but not enough to feel safe.

"I hear you have a twin sister. A twin, Lois. Imagine that. If she's anything like you… well, seeing her naked would be almost the same as seeing you."

The words cut deeper than any insult could. Lois's throat tightened.

She opened her mouth to reply, but no words came.

Instead, her mind raced with images she desperately wanted to block—her sister, innocent and unaware, caught in the crossfire of Ross's twisted game.

Ross chuckled darkly, a sound that echoed in the quiet hallway like a threat.

"Farewell, Lois. The next time you see me, you might want to start calling me brother-in-law."

His laughter lingered, mocking and cruel, before he turned sharply and walked away, leaving the door swinging slightly in the breeze.

Lois stood frozen, her chest heaving with ragged breaths.

The echo of his footsteps faded into the night, but the chill of his presence remained, sinking into her bones.

For a long moment, she simply stood there, the silence of her apartment pressing down on her like a weight.

Then, with trembling hands, she closed the door and locked it, pressing her back against the cold wood as tears stung her eyes.

She wasn't sure whether she was more terrified of Ross or of what the future now held.

The next morning, Lois woke with a pounding headache and a knot in her stomach.

She had barely slept; every time she closed her eyes, she heard Ross's mocking laugh echoing in the hallway outside her apartment.

Those last words—The next time you see me, you'll have to call me brother-in-law—felt like a death sentence, not just for her peace of mind, but for her sister's safety.

She sat on the edge of her bed, staring at her phone.

She didn't even need to look up the number.

She had known it by heart since they were little girls.

Taking a deep breath, she hit "Call" and pressed the phone to her ear, her heart thudding.

After three rings, a warm and familiar voice answered.

"Hey, sis! You called. What's up?" A woman answered and sounded cheerful, as if the world was perfectly fine.

Lois swallowed hard. "Laura… has Ross Oakley contacted you recently?" Her voice was tight, cautious, but laced with urgency.

There was a beat of silence.

Then Laura laughed softly, as though Lois had just guessed the ending of a surprise story.

"Ahhh, how did you know? Mr. Oakley actually reached out last week. Said he's interested in buying my art in bulk—apparently he's decorating some new mansion and wants exclusive, unique pieces. We've been emailing back and forth and… well…" She hesitated, then continued with a trace of excitement, "I'm meeting him in person next week to go over the deal."

Lois's pulse spiked. "Laura, listen to me—cancel the meeting. Cancel everything."

Her sister's tone shifted instantly from playful to puzzled after hearing the unexpected words from her sister Lois.

"Why?"
