Chapter 35: A Man's Tears
Feng Biao's mouth opened, and he spat out a mouthful of fresh blood.
His body slumped weakly and he fainted.
The high kick from Yang Fei just then had broken three of his ribs.
Three hooligans, each holding a club or steel bar, still stood there, trembling.
Although Feng Biao was of a gloomy disposition, this guy had genuine kung fu skills.
One very important reason Wu Wei could dominate the SC district was the deterrence of Feng Biao.
It was a legend in Shun City's underworld that Feng Biao even exchanged hands with the chief bodyguard of the Provincial City's Golden Buddha, Old Jin, Yan Wuxin.
Although Feng Biao only managed to last three moves before he was defeated, he did not die from his injuries.
That alone was enough for him to strut around Yannan City.
No one had expected that the notorious Feng Biao, in the hands of Yang Fei, wouldn't even have the strength to fight back.
When Yang Fei hit him, it was like disciplining a grandchild.
Such a person was terrifying.
Clang!
A hooligan named Chong Ba dropped his iron rod and ran for his life.
The other two hooligans also turned and fled.
Just then, a streak of cold light, swift as a shooting star, flashed through the air.
The three ruffians only felt blinding light bloom before their eyes, scaring them into closing their eyes, none daring to move.
A chilling sharpness moved all over their bodies.
That icy feeling made every hair on their bodies stand on end, their souls almost leaping out in terror.
At the gate of the iron door, there was now a man.
His complexion was exceptionally pale, as if he had just recovered from a serious illness. His facial features were striking and well-defined, with eyes like cold stars.
This man seemed as though he had been fished out of an ice cave, his whole being exuding a bone-piercing chill.
A small knife, like a snake, retracted back into his sleeve as if it had its own spirituality.
Looking at the three hooligans standing upright, all the hair on their bodies, from their head and beards to their eyebrows and even body hair, were shaved clean.
Scared out of their wits, the three stood frozen in place like statues.
The man slowly raised his head to look at Yang Fei, a hint of a smile in his eyes.
His cold eyes, however, felt incredibly warm, "Brother Fei, I've finally mastered the 'Spirit Snake Slash' you taught me."
From the moment the man appeared, Yang Fei's face went through a series of remarkable changes.
Surprise, disbelief, and excitement alternated on his face.
He stood still as if turned to stone, not moving an inch.
Finally, Yang Fei burst into a loud, hearty laugh and rushed forward.
He embraced the man tightly, thumping his chest, "Damn it, I knew you wouldn't die that easily."
"My brother, each of us has nine lives, haha, hahaha!"
Yang Fei laughed wildly as if he had won a grand prize.
He stepped back two paces, examined the man closely, and then gave him another tight bear hug.
At the same time, hot tears spilled from Yang Fei's eyes, "Seeing you alive is just amazing."
"Damn those rotten brush pens that won't bloom, it's about time heavens finally opened their eyes."
Although the handsome man's face was a mask of ice, big hot tears rolled down from his eyes.
His lips trembled incessantly, unable to calm down.
The friendship between men was like a pot of scalding Burning Knife Liquor, hot and fiery, yet so very warm.
This kind of emotion was like the lava rolling behind rocks, seemingly cold but actually burning intensely.
Since Lin Xueyi had known Yang Fei, she had never seen him so emotionally out of control.
The guy always had an 'I am number one in the world' attitude, carefree as if it would never change.
However, seeing his tears now, Lin Xueyi's heart suddenly became as light and soft as egg whites.
Feng Cai'er also opened her mouth in surprise.
In her eyes, Yang Fei, as enigmatic as he was explosively powerful, was shameless to the point of having no bottom line.
```
Why would this bastard cry like this?
It must be said that seeing two grown men in tears tugged at the heartstrings of both Lin Xueyi and Feng Cai'er.
Only after Yang Fei and the man's emotional moment did they finally calm down.
Once he calmed down, Yang Fei felt puzzled, "Fan Yi, how the hell did you find this place?"
The man named Fan Yi glanced at Lin Xueyi and Feng Cai'er.
He smiled faintly, "Ever since that incident, I knew that if you were still alive, you would definitely be here."
"So right after I returned to the country, I headed straight to Yannan City, then learned about Sister Lin's trouble, followed the trail, and here I am."
Saying that, the two men burst into laughter.
Yang Fei looked at the three small-time hoods, soul-shattered, and Feng Biao who was seriously injured and unconscious, feeling this wasn't a good place for a chat.
He arranged a time and place to talk with Fan Yi, then sent Fan Yi on his way first.
Fan Yi nodded to Feng Cai'er and Lin Xueyi and then turned to leave.
Though curious, Feng Cai'er and Lin Xueyi also felt it inappropriate to inquire into Yang Fei's private affairs.
Feng Cai'er, a martial artist herself, had never seen anyone use a knife with such speed, precision, and ruthlessness.
But at the thought of Yang Fei, her mind eased.
With this guy being so devastatingly powerful, it seemed only normal for his friends to be somewhat monstrous.
However, just who exactly are these people?
Little Police Flower Feng Cai'er found her interest in Yang Fei growing even stronger.
Next, Little Police Flower made a police report, and in less than twenty minutes, the Criminal Investigation Division of SC District sent someone to take the prisoners away.
Feng Biao and the other three thugs were caught red-handed by Little Police Flower for kidnapping, extortion, and assaulting an officer.
With ironclad evidence against them, no matter how the four tried to argue, they were all facing at least ten years of imprisonment.
It was foreseeable that the rising star of the SC District police force, Feng Cai'er, had earned yet another merit for her record.
Feng Cai'er realized that ever since she met this bastard Yang Fei, despite always being taken advantage of by his teasing, her career had been smooth sailing.
That could be considered a form of compensation.
Concerned for Fan Yi, Yang Fei took Lin Xueyi back to the hotel and then rushed to the prearranged Pinghu Park.
Pinghu Park was the largest leisure park in Yannan City, with willows gracefully framing the scenery and a gentle breeze in the air.
Many visitors had rented small wooden boats to row in the lake, creating a charming atmosphere.
When Yang Fei arrived, Fan Yi had already rented a flat boat.
He had purchased some soy sauce duck feet, roast chicken, cold beef slices, and other dishes, and had filled a military flask with a full bottle of spirits, inviting Yang Fei to join him on the boat.
Boating on the lake was not just for leisurely enjoyment; its greatest benefit was to avoid eavesdroppers.
Yang Fei and Fan Yi rowed the boat to the center of the lake.
Fan Yi knew what was on Yang Fei's mind and didn't wait for him to ask, sighing with a smile, "Thinking back to that bloody battle by the Amazon River, it really feels like a lifetime ago."
Yang Fei nodded and asked, "I've always thought you had perished. How on earth did you survive?"
Fan Yi let out a sigh, "That night, I was struck by a palm from Poseidon, severely injured and unconscious, and I fell into the river depths."
"Then, downstream, I was rescued by a kind-hearted indigenous resident."
"During my recovery, I tried to make contact with the higher-ups repeatedly, but I couldn't get through."
"After returning to the country, I learned that all of us brothers had been declared dead."
"Furthermore, our positions were dissolved by the higher-ups, and I was even listed among the fallen."
"Hearing the official report, yet I firmly believed Brother Fei was still okay, and only recently remembered Sister Xueyi's predicament and came looking for her."
Yang Fei sighed deeply, his expression turning somber, "Lin Zi sacrificed himself to cover for me."
"With his dying breath, he said the only person he was worried about was his only family member, which is Sister Xueyi."
"Heh, Lin Zi died for me, so I've got to live on for him, and that's why I came to Yannan City."
After a while, Fan Yi suddenly remembered something and his expression turned serious, "Right, I met your mentor Shou Jing Gong."
"He asked me to give you this package. He said he left you a note with all his instructions in it."
"What, my mentor left something for me?"
Yang Fei was immediately taken aback.
