Chapter 25: A Chest Without a Valley, What Use is the Bowing?

A simple request, yet it was a height that Miss Yuan could only look up to but never reach. Just from this point alone, Liu Rushuang could indeed be counted as her lifelong rival.

When Lin Mo returned, Mrs. Jiang had already changed out of her equestrian attire and was quietly sitting in an outdoor resting area.

“Xiao Lin, you came back just in time. We’ll be eating soon. Where’s Yuanyuan?”

He dismounted the horse neatly, and staff members immediately came forward to lead the horse away.

“Sister Yuan ran into an acquaintance and said she wanted to go another round.” Lin Mo truthfully explained.

Mrs. Jiang, upon hearing this, said: “So you ran into Rushuang. Ah, I don’t know what’s wrong with Yuanyuan. Every time she sees Rushuang, she always has complaints. Rushuang is such a good child.

On the contrary, Yuanyuan has grown wilder and wilder these past few years.”

Perhaps because Lin Mo was an outsider present, Mrs. Jiang didn’t say much more, just voiced a simple complaint.

Between the lines, it wasn’t hard to tell that she was quite fond of Liu Rushuang.

Lin Mo listened from the side, feeling quite helpless. With such an attitude from her mother, how could Yuan Meng not harbor resentment toward Liu Rushuang?

If anything, this would only make her more rebellious. Children feared nothing more than comparisons.

“I think Sister Yuan is quite good—generous, righteous, and back at the company, she stood up for me many times when others targeted me. As for President Liu, she’s quite excellent too.” Lin Mo spoke with compliments from the side.

As for others, he didn’t care. He only needed to praise his own God of Wealth.

Hearing Lin Mo compliment her daughter, Mrs. Jiang couldn’t help but reveal a smile: “Is that so? Yuanyuan never told me that. Xiao Lin, are you unhappy at the company? Do you want to change to another place?”

Lin Mo shook his head: “No need, Auntie. My internship period will be finished after a few more days next week. Besides, with Sister Yuan around, what unhappiness could there be?”

Soon, Liu Rushuang and Yuan Meng returned on horseback. Only, Liu Rushuang’s eyes were full of laughter, while Yuan Meng’s little face was puffed up like a bun. Clearly, in this round, she had once again fallen into a disadvantage.

“You’re back. Tired?” Mrs. Jiang rose and took Liu Rushuang’s hand.

“Not tired, Auntie Jiang. I was just warming up.” Liu Rushuang smiled, not a single bead of sweat on her face.

On the other hand, Miss Yuan’s forehead was damp with sweat, and she didn’t even receive her mother’s concern. She immediately pouted and cast a glance at Lin Mo, her gaze speaking:

‘See? Now tell me, shouldn’t I dislike her?’

Lin Mo felt awkward, giving a helpless smile. He really couldn’t comment on this, he could only remain polite.

“Alright, since everyone’s here, hurry and get changed. I’ve asked the staff to prepare the dishes. The scenery here is nice, just think of it as a little relaxation.” Mrs. Jiang said to the group.

They all nodded, and soon staff led them to fitting rooms to change clothes. Lin Mo even took a shower.

It had to be said, this truly was a high-class venue—not only were the facilities complete, but even the decorations were refined and upscale.

When the three of them returned, the table was already filled with food. The riding grounds employed professional chefs, and the ingredients were fresh.

“Come, come, sit down, especially Xiao Lin. Don’t be reserved. We’re all family here. Auntie loves being around you young people the most—it lifts my spirits.” Mrs. Jiang, noticing Lin Mo’s slight unease, quickly reassured him.

Lin Mo nodded and sat down beside Miss Yuan.

By now, the three of them had changed clothes and showered, since they had all sweated.

It was well known that the most handsome moment for a man was right after a shower. Lin Mo was no exception—after showering, his skin looked even better, clean and fresh, like a pure young man.

Since Yuan Meng had also used his facial cleanser, her complexion was quite good as well. On the contrary, Liu Rushuang appeared slightly less radiant compared to the two.

After washing, her light makeup was removed, leaving her complexion a bit pale. Still, she was fairer than most girls.

Seeing this, Yuan Meng raised her eyebrows at Lin Mo, clearly in a very good mood.

Liu Rushuang naturally noticed their little exchange, but she wasn’t anxious. Speaking up now would seem too deliberate.

So, during the meal, Liu Rushuang occasionally glanced at Lin Mo. Today, she wore a cinched-waist dress, the neckline slightly low.

Sometimes she deliberately propped her chin on her hand, speaking while gazing at Lin Mo, her chest pressing against the table on purpose. It left the college student somewhat parched.

Throughout the meal, Mrs. Jiang was delighted: “Rushuang, I heard you’ve been busy with company matters lately. If you ever need help, just speak up.”

“Don’t worry, Auntie Jiang. It’s nothing serious, I can handle it. If there’s ever real trouble, I’ll definitely speak up. How’s Uncle doing lately? My dad was just saying not long ago that he wanted to have tea with him, catch up a bit.” Liu Rushuang said with a smile.

“Him? Still the same. Too many things at the company, he can’t get away. Speaking of tea, Xiao Lin makes excellent tea. I’ve tried it at home, and none of mine tasted as good as his. Since we’re almost done eating, why don’t we have some tea and try Xiao Lin’s skills?” Mrs. Jiang suggested.

Hearing this, Lin Mo nodded. It wasn’t a big deal.

But Liu Rushuang gave him a surprised glance. For Mrs. Jiang to give such praise—it truly wasn’t ordinary.

Soon, the staff brought tea leaves and utensils. Though the tea wasn’t as fine as that of a tea house or Yuan Meng’s home, it was still of decent quality.

Lin Mo washed his hands, then skillfully boiled water and brewed tea. His movements were smooth and natural—such a clean-cut boy brewing tea quietly was a pleasing sight to the eyes.

As per custom, the first brew was discarded. With him controlling the water temperature and brewing sequence, as the leaves slowly unfurled, the fragrance of tea wafted through the air.

Throughout the process, no one spoke. They all simply watched, as if there was a certain magic in Lin Mo’s tea-brewing that drew in their gaze.

“Alright, it’s ready to drink.”

At his words, the three snapped out of their daze, feeling a bit incredulous.

“Xiao Mo, I didn’t expect you to have this skill. You looked really good just now.” Liu Rushuang truly felt amazed. She took a small sip.

Sweet and refreshing, rich in fragrance. Though the tea itself wasn’t of high grade, the flavor was layered and full, as if the hands brewing it carried some miraculous power to turn the ordinary into extraordinary.

“Ah~~ delicious.” Miss Yuan gave the most straightforward review.

Beside them, Mrs. Jiang narrowed her eyes slightly in enjoyment. Perhaps it was the comfort of tea after a meal, or maybe simply her good mood.

Lin Mo poured tea for the three, then drank two cups himself.

By the fourth brew, they finally stopped, watching the sunset at the horizon, the evening breeze blowing, enjoying a rare moment of tranquility.

Time slipped by, and by five-thirty in the afternoon, at the riding ground’s parking lot—

“Xiao Mo, really not getting into sister’s car?” Liu Rushuang leaned out of her Mercedes, her ample chest squashed against the car window, misshapen.

“Pfft! Talking is one thing, what’s with pressing your chest like that? It’s not like no one else has one.” Yuan Meng bent down, tugging hard at her own neckline.

At this, Liu Rushuang sneered: “A chest without a valley, what use is the bowing?”

Yuan Meng: w(゚Д゚)w

Lin Mo: …
