Even Zombies Have Fandoms

Chapter 24

Chapter 24

“I guess that person didn’t say I was dead.”

After all, he wouldn’t have left a note for a dead person. Even though it was a situation where a human would have been 100% dead.

The joy of receiving Seokjae’s concern was short-lived as the anger that had briefly subsided surged up again. Next time they meet, he absolutely shouldn’t help him.

“So that’s why I only smelled human blood.”

One or two zombies can be easily blocked by closing the door. For the entrance to become such a mess due to zombies, there would need to be many. Then naturally, there should be more than one zombie dealt with, but there was no smell of rotten blood at the entrance.

Instead, there was the smell of human blood, leading to the conclusion that humans had attacked this place. It was surprising that he only now realized such an obvious fact.

“Wait. Does that mean it became dangerous because of me?”

Seokjae is quite strong, so all the blood smell he detected might not be his. That was fortunate, but when he realized that the person he had saved had tried to harm Seokjae, his heart sank.

The truth was that the man had companions, and it was someone else in that group who had hurt Seokjae. But not knowing this, Muyoung felt it was all his fault that Seokjae was hurt.

“How, how badly is he hurt?”

Muyoung, frightened, hurriedly tried to find Seokjae again. He clung pathetically to the window, not minding that his face was pressed against the glass, from forehead to cheeks.

‘…’

And Seokjae, whom Muyoung was so desperately searching for, was watching him from a much closer place than he thought.

“Hyuuung… where are you…”

Near the wall next to the window. From this angle, it was a perfect spot to watch Muyoung’s whimpering face through the gap in the curtain.

If Muyoung had carefully looked left and right, he would have met Seokjae’s eyes watching him. But currently, his vision was narrowed due to worry, and he was focusing his gaze straight ahead to see deep inside the house.

‘He looks like a rice cake.’

The face he finally saw up close was as gentle as he remembered, and cuter than he remembered. Seokjae pressed the back of his hand against his mouth to suppress the laughter that burst out like a chuckle.

He had written those words on the paper knowing it would surprise him, annoyed that he had gone to some trash instead of himself. It was no different from urging him to come out on his own, since he had already noticed everything.

‘Seems he still doesn’t intend to come in.’

Yet he only clung to the glass window, whispering his name, without thinking of opening the window and coming in directly. Even though he had approached that guy right away.

It was vexing that he discriminated between others and himself, but seeing him cry so cutely made him feel better.

‘I was just going to grab him… Should I let him off a bit?’

In fact, Seokjae had intended to open the window and grab him by the scruff of his neck. If Muyoung had acted even slightly less cute, he would have done so. But with him being so adorable, he hesitated to scare him.

In the end, Seokjae gave up on the hard approach. Instead, he decided to persuade him gently.

When he removed the towel pressing on his wound, blood gushed out as if it had never been stopped in the first place.

‘Fortunately, it hasn’t stopped.’

Seokjae never intended to stop the bleeding from the beginning. The more serious it looked when Muyoung arrived, the better. It was a wound he had deliberately made, and pressing the towel was just an act for Kyungho and Junwoo’s fuss.

Tae Seokjae was someone who could easily defeat four men. Moreover, the opponents were flailing in surprise after being hit with fire extinguisher powder. It would be laughable to even get grazed.

But Seokjae had concluded that Muyoung left him to save another guy because he wasn’t interesting enough, so he offered his arm to the knife wielded by the tattooed man. If he liked high protection difficulty, he could just raise it himself.

Although it was just a slight cut due to careful distance calculation, the length of the wound made it bleed a lot. In summary, it wasn’t a severe wound, but it looked serious on the outside. Just the degree he was aiming for.

Immediately after getting wounded, Seokjae literally beat the now unnecessary group into unconsciousness. And to prevent Muyoung from being shocked by their ugly faces, he threw them somewhere else, thus destroying evidence.

He left them where there were no zombies, but who knows if it would stay that way until they woke up. Well, it wasn’t his concern what happened to those who survived by sacrificing others.

After watching Muyoung for a moment, Seokjae moved away, suppressing any signs of his presence. He walked past the gap in the curtain, looking straight ahead as if he had just walked out of the kitchen adjacent to the living room.

‘How will he react?’

The voice desperately calling for him suddenly stopped. No, if you listened closely, you could hear faint hiccuping sounds. Seokjae, laughing inwardly, sat on the sofa facing the window and exposed his bleeding forearm.

Given his nature of never being able to ignore someone in need of help, he surely wouldn’t be able to stay still. Moreover, since Kyungho and Junwoo had gone out to find medical supplies, regardless of the truth, Muyoung was now the only one who could help Seokjae.

Seokjae decided to even show the consideration of averting his gaze to allow him to prepare mentally.

As if dizzy from excessive blood loss, he suddenly tilted his head back to look at the ceiling. The corners of his mouth turned up slightly.

‘Come in obediently while I’m being lenient.’

Not knowing that he was like a carnivore wagging its tail while waiting for its prey, Muyoung let out a silent scream, just as Seokjae had intended.

“W-what should I do?”

Muyoung, who had jumped back swallowing his breath when Seokjae appeared from an unexpected direction, immediately pressed himself against the window again upon seeing the stream of blood flowing down his arm.

“He’s bleeding so much!”

Even in his shock, he muttered in a low voice, afraid Seokjae might hear.

Although he couldn’t see clearly from a distance, the bleeding arm and the half-bloodstained towel in his hand were enough to tell that the wound was serious.

“I think I need to help him right away…”

Of course, when there’s a lot of bleeding, it needs to be stopped, but he seemed too out of it to do so. He was just lying there lifelessly, staring at the ceiling.

Could he be dizzy from losing too much blood? Unfortunately, in this situation, both Kyungho and Junwoo were absent, so there was no one who could help him immediately.

“I should have come back a little faster…”

The reason the two had rushed out was clear. They needed medical supplies to treat the injury.

If he had returned at the right time, he could have handed over the first aid kit before they left. Then they would have treated him right away. He had wasted time washing up and missed the chance to reduce Seokjae’s suffering.

‘I’m an idiot.’

Feeling upset, Muyoung gave himself a knock on the head and finally made up his mind.

He hurriedly took out the heavy first aid kit from his bag. Then he opened the first aid kit and scanned the items inside. Frowning as he pondered, Muyoung grabbed a few noticeable items in one hand.

‘This should be enough to not hurt, right?’

After briefly looking down at the items in his hand with a tense face, Muyoung, remembering the urgency of the situation, reached out towards the window. Not to cling to it, but to open it and go in.

‘But isn’t it locked? Maybe I should use the door after all…’

Just before opening the window, he worried it might be locked, but before he could finish the thought, it slid open with a smooth sound. There wasn’t even the slightest resistance.

‘They didn’t lock this?’

Muyoung’s eyes widened. Thanks to it being unlocked, he could go right in, but… if the intruder had been a bad person instead of him, a very dangerous situation could have occurred. Especially since Seokjae was currently in a state where he couldn’t respond properly, being more careful would have been appropriate.

It was strange that they hadn’t properly secured the door after such a big fight that resulted in injuries. It wasn’t like Seokjae, who was meticulous about safety, to act this way.

‘…Is he in too much pain to think about such things?’

Certainly, with an injury bleeding that much, it would be understandable. If it were him, he would have been bawling and rolling on the ground long ago.

‘Maybe it’s because it’s Seokjae hyung that he’s so calm. He’s really cool.’

Muyoung, who praised Seokjae as naturally as breathing even in this situation, gripped the window that was open just a finger’s width.

‘Hello, I’m the person who’s been exchanging notes with you. Hello, I’m…’

Muyoung repeatedly muttered to himself the answer he would give when Seokjae asked who he was. He needed to reveal his identity right away, if nothing else, because Seokjae might not use medication given by a stranger.

And so, extremely tense, he opened the window the rest of the way.
