Chapter 46: Chapter 45 – The Request of a God
The figure remained kneeling, their head bowed in humility.
Frank lazily rested his chin on his hand, golden eyes observing the so-called god before him. He wasn't particularly interested in their plea, but he had to admit—this was a first.
A god begging for mercy?
He smirked. "And why should I care about the heavens?"
The figure flinched, their divine aura flickering slightly. It was clear they were struggling to remain composed.
"Because if the heavens fall, so does the balance of existence."** Their voice trembled. "Millions—no, countless lives depend on it."**
Frank yawned. "Not my problem."
The god clenched their fists. "Please… you have already shown your strength. There is no need to—"
"Do you think I care about proving myself?" Frank cut in, his voice still calm but carrying an undeniable weight.
The god immediately shut their mouth.
Frank set his book down and stretched. "I never asked for this. I never sought to be feared. But your kind kept provoking me." His golden eyes narrowed slightly. "I don't like being disturbed."
A suffocating silence filled the room.
The god swallowed hard, trying to steady their nerves. "Then… what would it take for you to spare the heavens?"
Frank sighed, rubbing his temples.
"Fine. I'll make a deal."
The god's eyes widened with hope.
Frank pointed a finger lazily toward them. "If you can give me something interesting… I'll consider leaving the heavens alone."
The god hesitated. "Something… interesting?"
Frank smirked. "Surprise me."
The god didn't know whether to feel relieved or terrified.
Because if they failed—the heavens would cease to exist.
