Eternal Holy Emperor

Chapter 781 Perils Abound

Roar——

A colossal shadow suddenly appeared before his eyes, leaping directly out of the pitch-black ocean below.

A closer look revealed a humanoid creature, yet far more ferocious and terrifying. Its entire body was covered in thick scale armor with large, spiky protrusions, standing a towering ten feet tall, exuding a terrifying aura.

As soon as this horrifying creature appeared, it slapped down with a hand teeming with thousands of upturned spikes, wrapped in a dark black radiance, emanating a dreadful sense of threat.

Ye Chen's expression changed slightly, knowing well that any creature appearing in the depths of the Sea of Chaos was extraordinary and not to be underestimated.

Without a second thought, he raised his Holy Fist and struck across, surrounded by the surging Holy Body Golden Radiance, charging boldly.

Boom——

The collision between the two generated a massive air wave shock, temporarily dispelling all the Wind Blades, lightning, and Yin Evil Qi in this area.

The grotesque creature was thrown entirely, with its spiky scale armor shattered, spilling black blood, yet Ye Chen's Dao Body staggered back more than a dozen steps before coming to a stop.

Though part of it was due to Ye Chen's Dao Body not being at its peak, it was clear that this monstrous humanoid creature was powerful enough, otherwise, it wouldn't have caused Ye Chen to retreat.

Ye Chen's eyes narrowed slightly, a glint of cold light flashing by; the humanoid creature before him was indeed powerful, and he suspected that there were definitely more than just one in the Sea of Chaos. Encountering a group would be the biggest hassle.

Thus, a swift and decisive battle was necessary to resolve this source of trouble.

Immediately, killing intent surged within Ye Chen; without hesitation, his entire being coalesced into a golden light, soaring skywards, and he wielded the Heaven and Earth Creation Fist, gallantly slashing forward.

Boom——

The grotesque humanoid creature exploded completely, shattered to pieces, leaving only its enormous head enveloped in a gentle glow of Ye Chen's light, tattered but not broken, with bits of Divine Sense shimmering brilliantly within.

However, the Divine Sense Sea of this Holy-grade creature was shattered and in tatters.

Ye Chen's Dao Body immediately extended a trace of Divine Sense into it, hoping to find useful information about the Sea of Chaos. Unfortunately, nothing useful was discovered; the remnant Divine Sense Sea of the Holy-grade humanoid creature was a chaotic mess, filled with endless resentment and murderous intent, devoid of any spiritual intelligence, and resembled more a purely bestial creature.

This made Ye Chen's brows furrow slightly, for once a creature attained the Demigod level, even demon beasts would awaken from their primal instincts, exhibiting intelligence. Even Fierce Beasts in the Divinity Transformation stage would show such traits, but this Holy-grade remained beast-like, which was extraordinary and uncommon.

Evidently, the Sea of Chaos was far more perilous and mysterious than imagined.

With a punch, the humanoid Holy-grade creature's head was shattered, its Divine Sense utterly annihilated, leaving behind a Divine Crystal, which contained immense Supreme power, clearly the power source of the humanoid Holy-grade creature, akin to a Demon Core of a demon beast, a manifestation of Dao Fruit.

Ye Chen directly absorbed and transformed it, acquiring a substantial amount of power, which flowed throughout his limbs and bones, restoring much of his Divine Power.

Then the Dao Body continued deeper into the Sea of Chaos, deliberately minimizing the expenditure of his Dao Body's Divine Power, demonstrating exceptional skill, and delving a further five thousand miles.

Along the way, the only threats were the increasingly dense and fierce natural forces of Wind Blades, Yin Evil Qi, and lightning. Nevertheless, a humanoid Holy-grade creature as enormous as ten feet never appeared again.

Yet, the deeper into the Sea of Chaos he went, the more frightening the consumption of Divine Power became, especially as an inexplicable barrier prevented its transmission, leaving the Dao Body with only Heroic Lord level power.

While this level could dominate the Ancient God Continent, it was insufficient here.

Moreover, the nature's spiritual energy here was extremely violent, making absorption difficult, which was incredibly vexing.

Fortunately, the Dao Body was supported by a surge of Holy Body Blood Qi, augmented by the humanoid Holy-grade creature's power, allowing further advancement.

Thus, delving another eleven thousand miles, reaching a total depth of twenty thousand miles into the Sea of Chaos, where the chaotic forces had grown tremendously terrifying and myriad times denser, greatly hindering Ye Chen's progress.

At this juncture, despite Ye Chen's overwhelming strength, he started experiencing headaches.

Even as strong as he was, trying to reduce Divine Power output as much as possible, the constant depletion remained substantial. More crucially, the violent nature's spiritual energy in the Sea of Chaos was unimaginably difficult to absorb, even for him, making it challenging to withstand the relentless bombardment of lightning, Yin Evil Qi, and Wind Blades.

Finally, he understood why throughout history, crossing the Sea of Chaos from the Ancient God Continent had been so difficult. Just these black storms and lightning had thwarted countless people, with even Saint Master level cultivators struggling to cross.

Ye Chen was deeply aware that more terrible obstructions lay ahead, or the Heavenly Kings of the Ancient God Continent wouldn't have been unable to traverse it.

Whoosh——

Ye Chen's Dao Body ventured swiftly into the Sea of Chaos once more.

Suddenly, he came to a halt, as a large island emerged unexpectedly in the Sea of Chaos ahead, barren and desolate. But that wasn't the main focus; the multitude of terrifying black shadows densely flitting around the island's sky were.

Seeing clearly, Ye Chen couldn't help but gasp.

For those shadows weren't anything else; they were identical humanoid creatures to the Holy-grade one encountered before, albeit mostly much smaller, equivalent to Human Clan size, yet numbering in the thousands, even more, making one's skin crawl.

Not all these humanoid creatures could be Holy-grade, the weakest were of Demigod Realm, and in the Sea of Chaos, they feared nothing; lightning, Wind Blades, and Yin Evil Qi couldn't harm them. Over endless ages, they've evidently evolved an immunity.

More importantly, he saw around a dozen enormous creatures identical to the previously encountered one on the island, some even larger, exuding terrifying auras.

Without hesitation, Ye Chen decided to strategically avoid and bypass this dreadful tribe.

In the Sea of Chaos, every bit of Divine Power was crucial and indispensable.

Rumble——

After delving twenty-five thousand miles into the Sea of Chaos, a mysterious giant ship appeared.
