Eternal Heavenly Emperor

Chapter 614: Heart of Water

Feng Qian was dominant, and as he swung his fist, Level Four Laws swirled, immediately forcing the Ice Ape to retreat step by step.

Starting with the War God, Martial Artists did not actually engage in battles beyond their rank because combat power was fully reflected in the comprehension of Laws. If you understood three Laws, you were stronger than someone who understood two—it was that simple and clear.

Therefore, Chu Hao's ability to fight across realms had become so incredible!

Generally speaking, no one pursued the cultivation of other Laws just to be invincible within their tier, for that would be putting the cart before the horse. And to achieve victory in higher-tier battles, how many Laws would need to be comprehended?

Billions, tens of billions!

If one could comprehend that many Laws, wouldn't I have advanced already, without the need for battling across tiers?

Thus, with Feng Qian mastering twelve Laws, he naturally overpowered the Ice Ape with ease—the disparity was obvious. However, this Ice Ape, being a manifestation of Laws and unlike ordinary ferocious beasts, did not place survival first; it was exceptionally belligerent, engaging fervently in battle with Feng Qian even when clearly outmatched.

But this only led to its quicker demise.

In just tens of moves, Feng Qian had utterly defeated the Ice Ape. Its massive body collapsed with a thunderous crash, breaking into countless pieces of ice.

Since it wasn't a real creature, it naturally had no Origin. Being killed once meant its true end. Within the ice remains, there was a blue, crystal-like object emitting a soft glow.

"This is... the Heart of Water!" Feng Qian picked up the crystal and suddenly exclaimed after looking at it for a while.

The Heart of Water, condensed by the Water Laws, could enhance the comprehension of Laws. But unlike Heavenly True Water, which could enhance the comprehension of all Laws, the Heart of Water could only target the Water Series Laws.

Yet for those who cultivated Water Series Laws, its value was no less than that of Heavenly True Water.

"This can fetch a good price."

"Indeed, it can also be traded for other treasures."

"Congratulations, Taoist Brother Feng."

Everyone said one after another. Since Feng Qian had single-handedly defeated the beast, the Heart of Water naturally belonged to him, as had been previously agreed upon by the group.

"Are there any more creatures like these? I'd like to make some money too."

"Yeah, bring on more, my hands are itching."

Several Kings of Stars spoke like this. The Heart of Water was indeed a treasure. Even if they couldn't use it themselves, they could trade it for treasured items they needed, making it a genuine Heavenly Material and Earthly Treasure.

Boom, boom, boom, a rumbling sound came from a distance. In just a moment, several hundred huge creatures emerged, all Ice Apes. And from even further away, more thunderous footsteps sounded, clearly indicating that more of these creatures were approaching.

"How did so many come!" Everyone's faces turned pale.

If a few Ice Apes had come, they could have managed to fight back, but several hundred, even thousands of them—this could lead to a massive disaster!

No wonder this place was deemed dangerous. Even Low Tier Domain Lords had previously dared not enter, and for good reason.

Fortunately, they had Chu Hao!

Remembering the monstrously talented individual beside them, everyone found great reassurance in their hearts. Unless a High Tier Domain Lord appeared among the Ice Apes, they didn't need to worry about the danger of falling in battle.

Bang, bang, bang, a few hundred Ice Apes had already charged over, varying in size.

The smaller ones were only about a dozen zhang in size, but the larger ones were several hundred zhang tall. The size correlated with their strength—the small ones were merely at the Star Master level, while the big ones had reached the realm of the Kings of Stars.

"Kill!" With newfound confidence, everyone fearlessly charged into battle, engaging in a fierce fight.

Chu Hao stood still, his Divine Sense unfurling, enveloping the entire scene, and taking everyone's movements into his control. If anyone faced danger, he would throw a punch and directly obliterate an Ice Ape.

More and more Ice Apes attacked, ranging from Star Masters to Kings of Stars. Chu Hao didn't strike too often, allowing everyone to get sufficient practice. But there were just too many Ice Apes, and he found himself intervening more and more. Almost eighty percent of the Ice Apes on the field were annihilated by him.

"Roar!" Amidst a roar, a thousand-zhang tall Ice Ape appeared. Those with poor Eyesight standing under it couldn't even see its head.

"This is bad; it's at the Domain Lord level, the Ape King!" Feng Qian and the others exclaimed in shock.

Chu Hao fixed his gaze. The Ice Ape's body was interwoven with over a hundred Third Tier Laws. He smiled faintly and said, "No worries, you all step back and stick together. I'll go meet it. Feng Qian, Zhi Qishui, look after the others."

"Yes!" The Kings of Stars quickly nodded, as if obeying a decree.

Chu Hao raised his eyebrows, bounced on his feet, and charged towards the Ice Ape. His right hand turned into a pointing gesture, aiming at the Ice Ape.

In fact, the Ice Ape King wasn't too strong; Chu Hao simply didn't want everyone to develop a dependency on him, so he intentionally pretended to be evenly matched with the ferocious ape.

However, there weren't many Ice Apes left, and they were entirely within the range that everyone could handle.

The great battle erupted, and the Power of Laws surged forth, resplendent and magnificent.

The Ice Ape King roared, its claws dancing, densely covered with Third-Tier Laws, exuding a majestic Heavenly might. The closer one gets to the Dao, the more oppressive the power becomes. A Domain Lord, having mastered Third-Tier Laws, is naturally getting even closer to the Origin, especially such pure existences of Laws, which are closer to the Dao, thus forming that Heavenly might.

Chu Hao simply flicked his finger, creating Sword Diagrams one after another. Fourth-Level Laws collided and exploded, forming powerful Taoism.

As they locked horns, the others also engaged in fierce battles with the Ice Apes.

Chu Hao observed from the sidelines. These people were indeed worthy disciples of the Ancient Academy; they were extremely skilled in utilizing the Laws, unleashing their full combat power. Understanding the Laws was one thing, how to apply them was another; this could indeed influence the combat power to a certain extent. Otherwise, there would be no need to fight if everyone just pulled out their Laws to count and measure them.

But if there is a gap of more than ten Laws, it would exceed the level of application and allow one to completely overwhelm the other by sheer numbers.

Therefore, comprehending the Laws is the true path to power.

Nonetheless, there were disparities in the strengths of the individuals. Some emerged victorious rather quickly, but others fell into disadvantage, facing danger repeatedly. Yet with the intervention of several King of Stars like Zhi Qishui, they managed to ensure that no lives were in danger.

After a few hours, all the Little Ice Apes were exterminated. Seeing this, Chu Hao also struck out with a palm, pressing it onto the head of the Ice Ape King, unleashing the Infinite Chaos, and with a bang, the Ice Ape King instantly turned into ice crystals.

"We won!" Everyone cheered; it was truly an exhilarating victory, and they could hardly believe that they were able to defeat such a daunting army. It was nothing short of miraculous.

Of course, this was mainly because of Chu Hao's presence. Most of the Ice Apes were taken down by him alone.

They began to collect the spoils of war, which were all Hearts of Water. Due to the different levels of the Ice Apes, these Hearts of Water naturally varied in rank. After piling all the spoils together, the distribution began.

No one grabbed haphazardly, reaching their level, their memories were naturally exceptionally clear; it was not possible for them to have made a mistake.

In front of Chu Hao, Hearts of Water stacked up like a small mountain. He had killed so many Ice Apes, and the Heart of Water from the Ice Ape King was the size of a calf, emitting a crystal-clear luster.

Chu Hao wasn't going to be overly generous and distribute these Hearts of Water to everyone; he had his own people to look after, like Su Wanyue, Gu Qingcheng, Xiaocao, and his two sons who were soon to grow into strong young men. The Hearts of Water could be exchanged for cultivation resources they needed.

He stored all the Hearts of Water in the Star Sea. For the King of Stars, the space within the Star Sea was vast beyond measure, so accommodating these items hardly occupied any space at all.

The group continued to move forward, each person in high spirits. They had all gained something, no matter how big or small, and acquiring even one Heart of Water was a huge gain, yet each of them obtained at least five.

Days went by, and the weather conditions worsened. Goose-feather-like snow began to fall from the sky; the ground beneath their feet was no longer solid glacial terrain but had turned into a snowy field. One step into it and half of one's body would sink in.

If it were ordinary snow, they would not have cared, but the problem was that these snowflakes were entwined with Laws, with Level Five, Level Four, Third-Tier, and even Second-Level and First-Level Laws!

Although these Laws were not lethal, they made going exceedingly difficult, even for Chu Hao. He could combat Third-Tier Laws, but only to a limited extent, let alone the presence of Second-Level and First-Level Laws here.

Everyone walked through the snow field with great difficulty, as if they were ordinary people, moving at an unbearably slow pace.

Even Immortal Emperors would be reduced to this state if they were here.

They moved slowly, every step requiring their utmost effort.

This region was absurdly vast, and their pace was no different from that of commoners. It was hard to imagine when they would be able to leave this area.

It was far too slow, and they had to rest shortly after walking, not for long. While the Laws did not cause harm, they exerted the pressure one would expect, making progress here arduous and slow.

One month, two months, half a year went by rapidly. They had come a great distance, but the glacier turned out to be much larger than they had imagined. Half a year had passed, and they were still struggling against the Laws.

Of course, during this half year, no one wasted any time. For them, it was entirely possible to multitask, moving forward while contemplating the Laws. They spent their whole time combating the Laws, deepening their understanding, and actually making faster progress as a result.

Every few days, Chu Hao also communicated with his family; although this was a secret realm, it did not affect the use of the Communication Stone.

Yet, this journey lasted far beyond Chu Hao's expectations.

One year, three years, ten years went by, time passed quickly, and in the blink of an eye, a hundred years had elapsed.

Chu Hao had thought about giving up, but this was about whether he could become the Eternal Heavenly Emperor. Being apart from his family now was for the sake of eternal companionship later.

So, he persisted.

People like Zhi Qishui, Feng Qian, and Lan Ran also persevered, but there were some who couldn't endure such a test and gave up halfway, returning back the way they came. (To be continued.
