Eternal Heavenly Emperor

Chapter 576: Settling Down

Chu Hao and the others left Taihe City and, following the map's guidance, headed toward the nearest Human Race village.

In this continent, the Human Race had no rights to own cities and could only reside in the mountains and forests. They relied on frail wooden walls and stone houses to fend off attacks from ferocious beasts, leading to a shockingly high number of deaths each year.

However, the strength of the Human Race lay in their resilience; they managed to endure such conditions and, pushing forward, even produced Martial Artists, a fact that was truly astonishing.

The development of martial arts was a process of inheriting from the past and guiding the future. No matter how clever and outstanding one was, it was impossible to achieve the level of War God or Star Master from scratch. The Human Race here had never received systematic guidance in martial arts; thus, they had to slowly grope their way forward, emulating ferocious beasts and the Blue Crystal Clan, among others, to enhance their martial arts levels.

In this journey, the Human Race also constantly suffered from the oppression of the three major clans, especially the Red Camel Clan and the Earth Snake Clan, which preyed on the Human Race, particularly savoring Martial Artists for their cultivated Star Force, which was quite nourishing.

Consequently, it was natural that the Human Race seldom produced powerful figures. Any who stood out were mercilessly suppressed by the two clans.

In the mainland, even War Gods could not tear through space to travel and had to rely on physical flight, which naturally wasn't very fast. However, Chu Hao was different since he had mastered the Space Law, allowing him to Teleport anywhere, anytime.

So, after determining the direction and distance, Chu Hao led his companions through a group Teleportation, arriving amidst a forest where colossal trees abounded. Among them, a mother tree stood ten thousand zhang tall, piercing the heavens, a sight truly marvelous to behold.

"So tall!" Everyone exclaimed, it almost seemed like the World Tree.

"A real World Tree would be many times larger than this," Chu Hao said with a smile. "Think about it, the fruits of the World Tree are planets. How could a planet possibly grow a World Tree?"

Everyone laughed, yet the mother tree was indeed magnificent.

"According to the map, this great tree is called the 'Relic Buddha Tree', formed after a Buddha power reincarnated," Chu Hao said as he studied the map, suddenly amazed; there were indeed powerful individuals in the Buddha path.

Unfortunately, none of them were natives, so they didn't know what Cultivation level this Buddha power had achieved in the past.

"Ah!"

Just then, screams erupted, and dozens of Human Race individuals ran out of the dense forest, each with a face full of panic, as if a ferocious beast was chasing them. Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh, followed by the sounds of several arrows flying through the air, thwack, thwack, thwack, thwack, instantly, six people fell to the ground.

The remaining people didn't even have time to glance at their companions as they continued their desperate escape.

Chu Hao immediately looked furious, and so did those around him. Those fleeing were at best a few Martial Disciples, and most were ordinary people, yet they were slaughtered like this, which was utterly deranged.

Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh, another volley of arrows came flying. This time, everyone was ready and wouldn't allow the massacre to continue. Su Wanyue was the first to leap forward, grabbing the arrows with her hands, effectively neutralizing the crisis for the others.

"Eh!" A surprised voice came from within the dense forest, followed by seven "beings" stepping out. These "beings" looked somewhat human with each standing about two zhang tall. Their backs were hunched; otherwise, they would be even taller.

They were covered in red, having facial features similar to the Human Race, but their mouths were disproportionately large, and given their enormous bodies, one could guess they could swallow a person in a single bite.

Red Camel Clan.

No introductions needed; Chu Hao and his companions could guess these creatures were from the Red Camel Clan, quite fitting to their name.

"Hey, there's a female Human Race warrior!"

"She looks tender-skinned, probably delicious!"

"She seems to have some Cultivation. Even tastier."

"Mine!"

"Mine!"

The seven members of the Red Camel Clan were all clamoring, each making a grab for Su Wanyue. In their view, the Human Race was weak; even though Su Wanyue demonstrated strong power, they still didn't take her seriously.

"Be careful, Miss!" the rescued Human Race people shouted loudly.

"No worries." Su Wanyue said indifferently, flipping her hand, bang, bang, bang, all those Red Camel Clan members were slammed to the ground, unable to fight back. She had advanced to War Emperor and even reached Ninth Tier, a very formidable level of strength in the Guangyuan Continent.

Seeing this, the Human Race people were stunned. Seven members of the Red Camel Clan were suppressed just like that? It seemed impossible as many among those Camels were martial masters. But soon, they cheered, firstly because they were alive, and secondly for having suppressed the arrogant Red Camel Clan.

Chu Hao and others went over as well. Su Wanyue turned her head and asked, "How should we deal with them?"

"Kill them, of course!" Luo Qingyan snorted, patting the War Elephant's head, and said, "Go, eat them!"

Xiang Wushuang couldn't help but feel depressed. Although he didn't abstain from meat, he wasn't used to eating living creatures. But when the Witch spoke, how could he not comply? After ten years as a Ninth Tier War Emperor, he still couldn't argue; New Continent really wasn't suitable for Cultivation. How could he resist with such Cultivation?

The War Elephant curled its trunk, sweeping up the members of the Red Camel Clan and devouring them, its mouth dripping with blood, a somewhat frightening sight.

The rescued members of the Human Race were all shocked. Who were these people who dared to kill and even eat members of the Red Camel Clan, and looked as beautiful as Heavenly Immortals, leaving them all dumbfounded?

"Let's take a look at your village," Chu Hao said.

"Yes! Yes!" The people were stunned for a moment before they recovered and hurriedly led the way.

The village was nearby, but it was completely devastated.

Previously, those seven Red Camel Clansmen had come hunting and treated the entire village as a beast den, ruthlessly slaughtering at will. The village had around a hundred people, with the strongest only being a seventh-tier Martial Disciple, so it was immediately overrun.

The villagers fled in all directions and were pursued as prey, leading to the scene that Chu Hao and his group had earlier witnessed.

Now, the village was also badly damaged, with hardly a few intact houses left.

Chu Hao smiled and asked, "You don't mind us staying here for a while, do you?"

"Not at all! Not at all!" the villagers said, displaying a sense of relief. With Chu Hao and his group around, the safety of the village would likely improve significantly.

"However, saviors, aren't you afraid of the Red Camel Clan's retaliation?" someone worriedly asked.

"It should be fine. They were just a few thugs from Cloud Watching Town. Their disappearance won't raise any suspicions," someone shook their head.

The villagers could only think this way, for if the Red Camel Clan's experts sought revenge, even the presence of Chu Hao and his group wouldn't be enough. It was known that the strongest experts of the Human Race were only at the Martial Sect level, and the Red Camel Clan could suppress them with just a few Warriors.

They hoped not to alarm the Red Camel Clan.

As they rebuilt the wasteland, Chu Hao and his companions also helped. Each of them was an expert, and physical labor was simple for them. They quickly reconstructed the stone houses and even built a stone wall.

This excited the villagers, who had only ever used wooden walls before. Ordinary ferocious beasts were manageable, but against stronger beasts, those were utterly insufficient and would get smashed easily.

With the stone wall, the defense was naturally much stronger.

The environment here was nice, and Chu Hao planned to settle down here. Once the conditions were ripe, he intended to bring people from New Continent here as well, since staying there was only a temporary solution that hardly allowed for Cultivation.

Since they had plans for long-term residence, Xiaocao proceeded to plant the seeds she had brought, although the current lack of fertilizer meant it was impossible to turn them into medicinal herbs anytime soon.

Chu Hao, Su Wanyue, and others began teaching martial arts to the villagers. Just being strong themselves was useless; the entire race needed to rise, becoming strong as dragons.

However, there were no martial arts prodigies in the village and even with Chu Hao's dedicated teaching, it might take decades before they could form a combat force at the Warrior level. Future matters would be addressed in the future; for now, Chu Hao simply aimed to spread the seeds of martial arts. After all, the Human Race was still the fourth major race of the Guangyuan Continent. Could it really lack geniuses?

Time would tell.

Su Wanye, Gu Qingcheng, and Luo Qingyan were naturally the most popular. Even though Su and Gu already had sons, people still came forward to play matchmaker, which made Chu Hao both laugh and cry. He had just saved these people, and now they were trying to steal his corner?

Xiaocao, Fu Xue, and Yun Cai were also very popular, though not as much as the other three women, and Chu Hao and Gu Fei ended up being the less welcomed ones—after all, Chu Hao was the man of both Gu and Su.

But the villagers were simple-hearted; after a few days, they wholeheartedly accepted Chu Hao and his group, especially since Chu Hao was teaching martial arts, which was desperately needed by the villagers, naturally earning their affection.

The peaceful life did not last long. The disappearance of the several Red Camel Clansmen eventually caught the attention of Cloud Watching Town, and a troop came with great hostility.

"Audacious Human Race, how dare you detain our people! Hand them over immediately!" the leader of the Red Camel Clan, riding on a massive beast resembling a wild bull five zhang long and two zhang tall, looked like a small hill.

"Mr. He Jun!" the villager guarding the entrance immediately fell to the ground, trembling as he spoke.

"Stop your nonsense. Didn't you hear what I just said? Pah, to think I have to talk so much with a lowly human. Are you seeking death?" He Jun coldly said.

Not all members of the Red Camel Clan enjoyed eating human flesh, but like the Blue Crystal Clan, they all looked down on the Human Race.

"My lord, those clansmen of yours wanted to eat us. After we fought them off, they disappeared without a trace," the villager said, unable to admit that it was they who had killed the seven Red Camel Clansmen, lest the village suffer annihilation.

"What, you were able to drive away a martial master?" Of course, He Jun didn't believe that and his eyes hardened as he demanded, "What exactly happened?"

The villager was so terrified that he trembled and couldn't speak.

Enraged, He Jun immediately lashed out with his whip. However, just as the whip was about to hit, it suddenly tightened, having been grabbed by someone. He looked up in shock, his mouth agape, for it was a handsome young boy who had grabbed it.

Not just one, but two; one was grinning and holding the whip, while the other had his arms crossed over his chest in a very cocky manner. (To be continued.
