Eternal Heavenly Emperor

Chapter 517: War God's Favor

The back hills had only a few scattered structures, but each one seemed enshrouded in auspicious clouds, radiating an endless majesty like the palaces of emperors, invoking a sense of admiration in those who beheld them.

That was the abode of the War God.

Which one was it?

Chu Hao came to a stop, only one War God had spoken, but he had no idea which residence belonged to whom. Was he supposed to knock on each door to inquire?

"Senior Brother Chu!" Just then, he saw a young boy riding a sword to him, saying, "My master awaits, please follow me."

He appeared to be only fifteen or sixteen, yet he already possessed the cultivation of a War General. Disciples of a War God indeed were extraordinary.

Chu Hao jumped up and followed the boy, quickly arriving in front of a courtyard.

Although they could have flown directly inside, the boy respectfully put away his Flying Treasure Artifact, pushed open the gate, turned to Chu Hao and said, "Senior Brother Chu, please."

Chu Hao walked in and found himself in a vast courtyard, where the flowers, grass, and trees grew much more luxuriantly than in the outside world, as if he had stepped into a sea of blossoms. The exotic fragrance was heady, refreshing both mind and spirit.

"This is a War God who has grasped fragments of Wood Series Laws," Fat Cat conveyed to Chu Hao through Divine Sense.

Chu Hao nodded. Although a Star Master could only master Five-level Laws, it wasn't strictly correct to say that a War God had fully grasped the Laws. However, even a fragmentary grasp of them was formidable enough to sweep across the world and even influence other creatures.

Deep in the garden, a silhouette sat cross-legged on the ground, his face slightly uplifted as he gazed at the sky.

Chu Hao looked carefully and was startled because at first glance, the figure was only a hundred meters away. But upon a second look, he seemed as distant as a thousand miles, unreachable.

This feeling was extremely uncomfortable for him. If he were to fight such a powerful figure, how could his attacks have any effect? He couldn't even pinpoint the opponent's location.

"Come over here," the figure spoke, glancing at Fat Cat and causing the cat to involuntarily bristle, its tail standing on end.

The person's face was shrouded in mist, unrecognizable. If it weren't for the masculine tone of his voice when he spoke, one couldn't even discern his gender.

Chu Hao steadied his mind and strode forward toward the figure.

His pace was not fast, and given the size of the courtyard, it surely wouldn't take more than a minute to reach the figure. However, as Chu Hao walked, he found that instead of decreasing, the distance between them was increasing.

What was happening?

Chu Hao stopped walking; the War God, however, wasn't in a hurry and had turned his head once more, lifting it at a forty-five-degree angle to look at the starry sky.

Such posturing!

Chu Hao thought to himself, realizing it was a test from the War God.

If he didn't even qualify to approach the War God, how could he be worthy of his teachings?

Chu Hao had an urge to use his golden pupil eye, but for one, the figure before him was a War God, so the golden pupil eye might not be effective, and secondly, this was a challenge for him. If he used the golden pupil eye to succeed, how could that be considered his own skill?

His body was like a sword, and his gaze swept the surroundings while his brain ran at high speed.

This couldn't possibly be an unwinnable situation; otherwise, it would be too deceitful. If there were a loophole, he only needed to find it.

Nowadays, his Divine Soul had grown tremendously, and his Derivation skills had reached new heights, far surpassing the computing power of all the computers on Earth combined. In just an instant, he memorized every detail of his surroundings, then took a step forward, to the left, and to the right, comparing the differences.

So that's how it is!

A smile spread across Chu Hao's face as he walked forward.

The distance between him and the War God was quickly closing, and after a few dozen steps, he stood behind the War God. He bowed respectfully and said, "Chu Hao pays his respects to the senior."

"I am Yue Wu Jian," said the War God, his voice calm yet filled with a might that would make even a War Emperor involuntarily bow his head.

Nine States' premier War God!

A maelstrom of Chaos played out in Chu Hao's Sea of Consciousness as he stood tall, unafraid.

Learners have no seniority; the accomplished shall be the master. He was respectful to Yue Wu Jian as a senior; such courtesy was only fitting. Yet in his heart, he would not fear anyone, even the Eternal Heavenly Emperor!

"Not bad, high perception, abundant Qi Luck, and most importantly, a heart in pursuit of strength," Yue Wu Jian said with a laugh, his smile obscured by the swirling fog around him.

"Senior flatters me," Chu Hao replied evenly, "May I ask why the senior has summoned me?"

Yue Wu Jian couldn't help but laugh. Anyone else invited by him would be overjoyed, longing to stay by his side for as long as possible. Yet Chu Hao, having just walked up to him, seemed impatient. This young man's pride was indeed too lofty.

"I had thought to cultivate you, for you showed some potential, but it seems you lack patience. So never mind, I won't waste more of your time," he said.

Chu Hao hastily broke into a smile and said, "How could a junior like me be impatient? Senior, you can cultivate me as much as you please. I assure you, I have plenty of time."

Yue Wu Jian immediately felt a sense of speechlessness. This kid had just been arrogantly overbearing, yet how had he, in the blink of an eye, become so shrewd and calculating that even Yue, a War God used to seeing all kinds of people, was somewhat at a loss?

But what Yue didn't know was that Chu Hao learned this from Fat Cat. As the saying goes, "You are whom you associate with." Having spent time with Fat Cat, who wouldn't pick up some shameless tendencies?

Yue Wu Jian helplessly shook his head but wasn't angry. After all, his purpose in summoning Chu Hao was to cultivate the young man, and Chu Hao had flawlessly passed the tests he had set before him, kindling a desire to cherish such a talent.

Unfortunately, the young man was a descendant of the He Family—not just an ordinary person but the next Family Head. It wouldn't be right for Yue to take him on as a disciple.

——The He Family possessed a supremely strong position among the Gu Clans. The War Emperor would probably have to use both hands to count them all. When these entities jointly wielded Ancestral Artifacts, it was enough to threaten a War God.

With such a powerful force, how could they possibly allow their Family Head to be apprenticed to anyone?

"Great calamities could descend at any moment. The more talents we cultivate now, the more hope we have for the future," Yue Wu Jian said. "Which type of Elemental Power do you primarily cultivate?"

This...

Chu Hao let out a sly laugh and said, "I have dabbled a bit in everything; I cultivate both the Five Elements and the Thunder Series."

Even Yue Wu Jian, a War God himself, felt a sense of frustration upon hearing this.

Who do you think you are, cultivating all five elements? No, no, no, it's not just the Five Elements; it's the Five Elements plus the Thunder Series. It's as if apart from his natural Spatial Physique, he had cultivated all Elemental Powers there were to be cultivated.

Being greedy gets you nowhere!

Yue Wu Jian couldn't help shaking his head, but this explained why Chu Hao's Combat Power was so astonishing. Combining the Elemental Powers of the Five Elements with the Thunder Element, who would be impressive if not him?

In fact, Chu Hao had only partially comprehended the Elemental Powers of water, fire, and thunder. For gold, earth, and wood, he was just getting started. However, given that a War God had offered to cultivate him, it would have been foolish not to take advantage of this opportunity.

Fat Cat gave a big thumbs-up behind Chu Hao's head, signaling "Well done, kid. You haven't wasted your time following this deity. Your ability to seize the moment is truly remarkable."

"I'm asking you, did you fuse the Three Great Life Springs into one?" Yue Wu Jian asked.

Chu Hao paused briefly before replying, "Yes." The other party was a War God, and it would probably not be difficult for him to scan Chu Hao's Dantian space with his Divine Sense. It was better to be upfront.

Hisss!

Even as a War God, Yue Wu Jian couldn't help but inhale sharply because such a feat was unprecedented in history.

"A Unique Life Spring that can absorb all kinds of power?" he inquired.

"Yes, as long as it doesn't exceed the limit," Chu Hao replied. He paused, then added, "Actually, it's not just me who has created a Unique Life Spring; I have a friend named Su Wanyue who has done the same."

Pfft!

Yue Wu Jian suddenly burst out, coughing continuously. If Chu Hao could see through the veil covering Yue's face, he would surely have seen his look of utter astonishment.

A Unique Life Spring, something unheard of throughout history, yet now there were two of them. Since when had miracles become so easy to come by, like a buy one get one free deal?

"Truthfully, if it had been just either of us alone, neither could have created a Unique Life Spring. It was only because Su Wanyue and I have compatible physiques and helped each other that we were able to cultivate it," Chu Hao explained.

Yue Wu Jian was silent for a long time before finally saying, "You truly have astonishing Qi Luck."

Not only had the heavens allowed these two people to exist in the same era, but they also lived under the same sky, had similar levels of Cultivation, and had become friends who would die for each other. Without any one of these conditions, they would never have been able to create a Unique Life Spring.

Wasn't that a stroke of Qi Luck that shocked the heavens?

To become a strong figure, Qi Luck was a tremendously important factor.

In simplest terms, those War Gods born on Sky Martial Star a million years ago were extremely unlucky with their Qi Luck. No matter how amazing their talents were, they could never cross the threshold to become Star Masters.

The conditions of heaven and earth didn't allow it!

To be born in such an era signaled Terrible Qi Luck, didn't it?

"You go and call Su Wanyue over. I'll call a few old fellows as well, and we will work together to cultivate you both. If you two can become War Gods before the calamity strikes, we will have more hope for the future," Yue Wu Jian spoke his last words filled with a magnanimous heart that empathized with the plight of all mortals.

Chu Hao obediently left. After he reached the bottom of the mountain, he said to Fat Cat, "Listen to that, there's the difference. You, a dead cat, only think about your own well-being."

"Pah! That old fool has no idea how many powerhouses are eying the relics of the Great Emperor. They think at most a few Star Masters will come along with the rest being War Gods. Naturally, becoming the most formidable War God would give one considerable influence," scoffed Fat Cat.

It paused and then added, "That old fool definitely doesn't know just how potent a Star Master really is. Controlling a complete Five-level Laws, that's not something that numbers can make up for. Even if thousands of War Gods were to attack together, they would only get instantly annihilated!"

"Hao, don't get all hot-headed just because of what that old fool says. When these heavens and earth reopen, we must skedaddle. Not doing so spells certain death!" (To be continued.
