Eternal Heavenly Emperor

Chapter 466 Ironclad Sword Dragon

After a series of uncompromising negotiations, both sides finally reached a consensus.

The two tribe's High Priests swore an oath in the name of the holy war that they certainly wouldn't resort to any tricks. This was the highest oath, and no one dared betray it, or even their own tribesmen would rise in revolt.

Both sides went back to rest and adjusted themselves to peak condition, for a bloody battle awaited them tomorrow. Perhaps many would be buried here as a result.

Chu Hao did not practice his swordsmanship again. After completing Dual Cultivation with Su Wanyue, he began to adjust his state.

The opponents for tomorrow numbered only a few, but the battle would undoubtedly be life-threatening. One could not afford to be careless.

On the second day, all War Venerate level combat power assembled, and both armies were ready, poised to strike at a moment's notice.

Following the previously devised tactics, eight Sixth Tier War Venerates and above were responsible for directly engaging the Ironclad Sword Dragon, while the remaining War Venerates feigned attacks on the flanks to distract the attention of this Tyrant.

The main assault, however, was to be carried out by the outsider army.

Using War Chariots to store energy, they planned to launch a terrifying strike.

Thus, more than two hundred War Chariots were spread out on both sides of the valley, one side belonging to the Copper Valley tribe, and the other to the Three Flames Tribe. Once the tribe's War Venerates lured out the Ironclad Sword Dragon, they would seize the opportunity to strike.

Originally, there should have been a total of three hundred and twenty War Chariots from both sides combined, but many had been severely damaged in previous battles and could no longer join the fight. In addition, some War Chariots were being used by War Generals and couldn't unleash the power of a War Venerate level, so naturally, there was no point in expending effort in vain.

"Roar—" A thunderous roar erupted from the valley, rumbling across the land, which immediately quaked. Countless rocks tumbled down, as if a catastrophe of apocalyptic proportions had descended.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The heavy footsteps grew louder, and an enormous beast appeared before everyone's eyes.

It resembled a rhino and was incredibly huge, with a length of several kilometers and a height of three to four kilometers. It stood there like a continuous mountain range, obscuring the sky and striking terror into all who saw it.

Its body was pitch black, and it was covered in spikes, each hundreds of meters long, even on its underside—it was hard to imagine how it had crawled on the ground before.

Ironclad Sword Dragon!

The High Priests and others had already begun their assault on this Tyrant, but their figures seemed extremely tiny, like flies buzzing around it. Moreover, because they couldn't fly, their attacks lacked dimension.

"Ready!" A War Venerate took charge of directing, pointing at the massive beast, "Attack with me in unison, we must concentrate all attacks together to maximize damage."

Chu Hao and the others responded affirmatively. Now was not the time for individual heroics, for this beastly Tyrant deserved their utmost effort.

They began to gather strength, and bright auras appeared on each War Chariot.

"Attack!" The guiding War Venerate shouted, and whoosh whoosh whoosh, over a hundred War Chariots unleashed their full-power strikes in unison, creating a tremendous column of light in the sky that converged on the neck of the Ironclad Sword Dragon.

Bang!

A loud boom rang out as the giant creature roared in anger, but its body involuntarily tilted to one side.

After all, this was equivalent to the combined strike of over a hundred War Venerates, and they had unleashed it with all the energy they had gathered—a terrifyingly powerful blow.

Before the Ironclad Sword Dragon could fall, another huge column of light struck its right underside. With a bang, it tipped to the left.

The two forces tore at it. Such power could tear apart an Eighth Tier War Venerate like the High Priest, yet the Ironclad Sword Dragon was astonishingly resilient. With a crash, it fell heavily to the ground, landing head-first, followed by its limbs, which spun in the air before also crashing down.

It was just so heavy. Su Wanyue could evoke the Xuanyin Sword to create sword qi as heavy as mountains, and when the creature as heavy as a mountain itself fell, the ground trembled wildly as if a shaking carpet was rolling incessantly.

Boom boom boom, tents in the distance collapsed en masse.

"Did we kill it?" Everyone asked excitedly.

But their excitement quickly turned to disappointment as the giant beast immediately got back up. More horrifyingly, no wound could be seen on its neck or underside!

—A combined assault from a hundred War Chariots with War Venerate level power wasn't even sufficient to breach its defenses!

The Ironclad Sword Dragon's name was well deserved indeed.

"Continue charging, prepare for the second attack!" the War Venerate directing the attack said in a deep voice. Although he also wished to bring down this giant creature with a single strike, he knew it was unrealistic, so he wasn't too disappointed.

The people continued to pour their strength into the War Chariots, ready for a second focused assault.

But the Ironclad Sword Dragon, now enraged, made the first move towards Chu Hao and his compatriots. It was so massive that with just one step forward, its huge head loomed above them.

With a thunderous sound, it opened its mouth, and a black light sprayed out, turning into innumerable Sharp Swords that swept downwards.

"Activate defenses, hold on!" The guiding War Venerate quickly changed tactics.

Humming buzzing noises erupted as all War Chariots formed protective shields.

The War Chariot was prepared for both attack and defense; however, when compared, its defensive power was stronger because the shield it formed could completely drain a Martial Artist's Star Force, resulting in the defensive power far surpassing the offensive power.

The Sharp Sword swept down, striking the shield and producing muffled puffs, much like raindrops hitting an umbrella.

Everyone's expression changed, as they all discovered their body's Star Force draining uncontrollably, as if floodgates had been opened. At this rate, their Star Force would soon be completely depleted.

Luckily, another War Chariot launched a second attack, and the High Priest and his group also initiated a fierce assault. Under the bombardment of terrifying power, the giant beast was flipped over once again.

Chu Hao and his party quickly steered their War Chariot away, popping Pills to recover their Star Force as they fled. Some were even directly nibbling on Spirit Grass and Spirit Fruit. They knew they wouldn't be able to withstand even a light strike from the beast if their Star Force was drained.

The Ironclad Sword Dragon quickly got back on its feet. Although it had taken several heavy blows, its defensive power was so tremendously strong that these hits were trivial, failing to even break its skin.

Ferocious beasts essentially follow the path of Body Cultivation, but even among those at the War Venerate tier, there are different levels of strength. This creature was definitely of the strongest tier, completely unfazed by the collective attacks from hundreds of War Venerates.

How are we supposed to deal with this?

Everyone was speechless. In the past, a Body Cultivated War Emperor couldn't even kill a War God, and they were only of the same tier as the Ironclad Sword Dragon, and even weaker. So, what chance did they have to shake it?

Could they only lure it out of the valley and let the army pass through while it was distracted?

"Luckily, the Laws of heaven and earth are incomplete here; otherwise, just a breath from that Ironclad Sword Dragon would have been the end of you all," Fat Cat suddenly appeared on the War Chariot, observing the enormous creature.

"What do you mean?" Chu Hao asked.

"What do you think a War Venerate is?" Fat Cat retorted, but without waiting for Chu Hao to respond, it continued, "A War Venerate cultivates Divine Sense and their control over the elements is beyond your imagination. Had we been in the outside world, with just one breath from that big guy, the iron element would have completely transformed into real metal, piercing you all full of holes!"

"Damn it, can you not be so vulgar!" Chu Hao scolded, but immediately nodded in agreement. He had witnessed the battle between He Luo and Elder Tian, a true clash between War Venerates, where the flames they unleashed were fully materialized, with astonishing power.

Indeed, the Ironclad Sword Dragon had reached Great Perfection of the Tenth Tier in terms of defense, but it hadn't reached such a height in attack—strength wasn't lacking, but the Laws were incomplete.

"Even so, this big guy is not someone you can stand up against. Hurry up and pass through. Lingering here is pointless. A ferocious beast's stamina is remarkable, and you will definitely not outlast it. Instead, you will be slaughtered!" Fat Cat said.

This obstacle could only be sneaked past, not truly overcome?

Chu Hao frowned, pondering for a moment before suddenly coming up with an idea. "What if we use the Corrosive Fluid of the fire cockroach to deal with this Ironclad Sword Dragon? Could it corrode its defense?"

"Huh?" Fat Cat was taken aback. "You really have some wild ideas! But... it's worth a try."

"Ha!" With a loud shout, Chu Hao turned the chariot and began to retreat, but not before he transmitted a message to Su Wanyue, "I'm going for reinforcements. You all must hold this big guy off until I get back!"

Whoosh, the Fire Phoenix moved incredibly fast, and with the blink of an eye, the War Chariot sped across the sky, disappearing into the horizon.

"Coward!" Lin Wunian and Lu Youxing immediately cursed.

This provoked a wave of agreement from many others, but there were also quite a few people who disagreed—after all, Chu Hao had ventured into the lair of the fire cockroach with two War Venerates before, which demonstrated remarkable courage. How could he possibly flee without fighting?

"He went for reinforcements," Su Wanyue spoke indifferently, her faith in Chu Hao unwavering.

"Bullshit, everyone is here, where would he go for reinforcements?" Lin Wunian scoffed coldly. He had not yet seen Su Wanyue's true appearance; otherwise, he would never have cursed in front of such a stunning beauty.

A cold light flashed in Su Wanyue's beautiful eyes as she pointed her sword at Lin Wunian and said, "After the holy war ends, I will challenge you!"

Lin Wunian was startled. Su Wanyue had stood on the high platform and had become one of the Ten Kings, possessing incredibly strong combat power. Although he too had his fortunate encounters and his strength had improved since entering, if he could improve, couldn't she?

But with everyone watching, he certainly would not show weakness and merely snorted, "Deserters are deserters, no excuses can change that!"

"Exactly," Lu Youxing agreed, naturally siding with Lin Wunian in the same trench.

Boom!

At that moment, the Ironclad Sword Dragon launched another attack on them, its ferocity shaking the heavens.

"Everyone retreat, we absolutely can't beat this Beast Venerate!" someone yelled. Now that someone had taken the lead in "running," he didn't mind voicing his opinion.

"Exactly!" Many people echoed in agreement. The outsiders didn't feel any sense of honor or disgrace regarding this sacred battle, as it wasn't their war to fight.

"No way!" Su Wanyue immediately retorted, "Chu Hao said he's bringing reinforcements, we must hold on until he returns!"

"Pfft, you believe that?"

"Exactly, he's clearly just using that as an excuse to flee."

"Let's retreat quickly!"

More and more people began to shout. (To be continued. If you like this work, please come to Qidian (qidian.com) to vote for recommendation tickets and monthly tickets. Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users please go to m.qidian.com to read.)
