Eternal Emperor's Path to Ascension

Chapter 293: Striving For Survival

"Visit me in the Eternal Peak as soon as you can."

These were the exact same words he had left behind before departing.

Although Tian Yongheng's true intentions remained unknown to her, Yao Qiuyue already had some guesses in her mind.

Perhaps, he had already known about her being a transmigrator...

Tian Yongheng, Tian Yongheng... Tian..

An unusual light flickered in her eyes as the figure of an elegant but weary woman, with beautiful yet tired crimson eyes and a countenance that seemed to have been through a lot.

She was perhaps one of the few people Yao Qiuyue really cared about in her previous life on earth.

She didn't know how that person had been living now since hundreds of years had passed since her reincarnation, but she only hoped that the other party had successfully reached a higher realm and extended her lifespan.

Yao Qiuyue's mind then shifted back to Tian Yongheng, more precisely, his appearance.

Crimson red eyes, breathtakingly handsome, long black hair... Similar.

As soon as this thought took root in her mind, she immediately decided that she had to visit the Eternal Peak as soon as possible.

...

At that moment, in the Eternal Peak.

Tian Yongheng hovered above the main peak, holding the unconscious Tian Jinchen in by his collar as his gaze fell on a figure not far from him.

It was Tian Yunchen.

His eyes were wide with disbelief before it turned into shock.

"Tian... Jinchen?"

He could barely utter these two words before Tian Yongheng threw Tian Jinchen down towards him.

Tian Yunchen's Spiritual Energy wrapped around him, making him float midair as Tian Jinchen's eyes widened even more.

"His cultivation... It's gone?"

He couldn't help but ask, his hands trembling and gaze fixated on Tian Jinchen, not even looking up at Tian Yongheng.

"Yes. He's the same guy who snatched away your Constitution, right?"

Tian Yongheng asked casually as he descended down to the same level as Tian Yunchen.

"How...did you..?"

Tian Yunchen's voice trembled as he managed to speak out, the depth in his eyes incomprehensible and his emotions tumultuous.

"There won't be a need to wait a thousand years anymore. I'll end the Tian and Qin families in less than a hundred years."

Tian Yongheng waved his hand dismissively before explaining the events that took place on the Isle of Heavenly Demons.

Tian Yunchen's expression morphed into one of solemnity and shock as he continued to listen.

He knew that Tian Yongheng was extremely powerful, but he didn't expect that even those old Human Immortals of the Tian Family were no match for him. Not only did he defeat a real Immortal Deity, but also took away Tian Jinchen before the eyes of all Tian Family members present at the scene.

He even killed an elder of the Tian Family!

However, what was even more shocking was the fact that the Upper Realm was secretly involved in all of this, helping the demonic forces.

"Did you figure out what was their purpose?"

Tian Yunchen finally asked, not about Tian Jinchen or the Tian Family, but about the Upper Realm.

Tian Yongheng's mind stirred at this question.

He indeed knew something. From what the information of those people from the Upper Realm told him, none of them, even Hong Xuanchen, actually knew their true purpose in doing all of this.

As expected, it was a huge conspiracy by the powerful forces of the Upper Realm.

He only knew that the Ancestral Heavenly Family was involved in it at the very least. That illustrious power behind the Tian Family, a top tier force in the Second Great Immortal World.

However, in the end, he could only shake his head slightly, indicated that he did not know about their purpose.

He couldn't reveal anything, at least not right now.

There were simply too many risks involved in revealing information about the Upper Realm.

Then, Tian Yunchen's attention finally turned to Tian Jinchen.

He had long since regained his composure and was no longer as flustered as when he first saw the other party.

"What do you plan on doing with him?"

Hearing his question, Tian Yongheng's gaze also shifted to Tian Jinchen before speaking, "Lock him up in the base of the main peak, he won't die with the abundant Spirit Qi here even with his cultivation base destroyed. Monitor him at all times, and do whatever you want with him."

He paused for a moment before continuing, "He's the one who wronged you, after all."

Tian Yunchen clenched his fists at this before releasing them, a heavy weight lifted from his heart, as if all of his Heart Demons tied to the past had dissipated in an instant.

Had he not been over a thousand years old already and knew how to control his emotions, his eyes would have already moistened.

This younger brother whom he had not seen grow up and knew nothing about always seemed to bring him inexplicable surprises.

He had already come to accept that he could never repay this younger brother in his entire lifetime, even after attaining immortality.

The opportunities he had granted, the favors he had bestowed, every single one of them was life-changing.

Now, with this thorn in his heart removed, he wouldn't experience Heart Demons or bottlenecks at all before reaching the Immortal Ascension Realm at the very least if nothing unexpected happened.

"I do not harbor grudges anymore. You have already taken revenge for me. I just wish that you can avenge our family as well."

Tian Yunchen spoke calmly, just as he always had since coming to the Eternal Peak.

As if remembering something, he couldn't help but remind.

"However, there is no need for you to take unnecessary risks. You can always ascend ahead of us if any great danger arises in the Lower Realm. You don't need to worry about me or anyone else, everyone has their own fortune and misfortune, after all.

We only have eachother as our family left in this world. I don't wish for you to bring harm upon yourself for anyone else, we have already lost enough."

Just as Tian Yongheng was about to leave, he stopped in his tracks and turned around to look at Tian Yunchen, giving him a faint nod.

Yet, deep emotions flickered in his eyes, and his heart warmed at the familial concern. Perhaps this was the first time in over 600 years anyone had genuinely cared for him.

Since awakening his past life memories and the system, he has always been alone. Despite having disciples and subordinate, these were all people who either feared him or revered him.

They were all relying on him, they saw him as their backer, their ultimate protection, their greatest ally. However, Tian Yongheng, on the other hand, had no one to rely on except for the system and himself.

He couldn't act brazenly because he knew that no one would cover up for him. He had no great background whatsoever.

He was only 18 at the time of his death in his past life, and he didn't have the arrogance and confidence of someone who had once reached the time because he was not the reincarnation of some world shattering expert.

In the end, he was just a survivor in this vast world of Immortal Cultivation, striving for immortality, just like countless others.

The only difference between him and those bottom tier rogue Immortal Cultivators living in small cities on rent, risking their lives every day for some Low-Grade Spirit Stones and hoping to alter their fate was that he still had the system, something which could be called his greatest support.

He would have died as a mortal had it not been for that.

But even the system was merely a support item. He could still die if he acted like those reckless second generations.

He had to shoulder the burden of countless people, including his disciples, subordinates, friends, and many other members of the Eternal Peak.

This, along with his own desire to enhance his strength and ascend to immortality as soon as possible, pushed him to cultivate so fervently. He seemed to have almost never left seclusion in over 600 years of his present life.

These 600 years somehow felt shorter than his initial dozens of years in this world and the 18 years of his past life.

And now, after so long, there was still someone who actually cared about him. Even though Tian Yunchen couldn't really back him up, just that much alone was enough.

He was, after all, his last remaining blood relative still alive in this world.

The Tian Family didn't count.

Tian Yongheng went back to his cave abode, leaving Tian Jinchen for Tian Yunchen to deal with.

The reason he did not directly take action against the Tian and Qin families was because he believed that since the Sword Venerable could still remain in the Mortal World by relying on a secret formation, then there was a chance the old Immortal Gods of these two major factions were still hiding somewhere.

It was nothing more than extra caution. A what if possibility.

He wanted to at least reach the Half Immortal Realm before taking action.

At that time, he would be able to fully control the Primal Dao Sword and perhaps even obtain another Dharma Fusion Stone from the system, elevating it to a higher level.

Even Perfected Vagrant Immortals would be unable to withstand his strike then.
