Eternal Elysium

Ch132 Saturated feelings

In absolute darkness, someone sat alone.

His figure remained still, his gaze fixed on the wall. Not even the sound of his breath could be heard—he seemed to have silenced it by sheer force of will.

A small lamp in the corner of the bed cast a dim, flickering light, just enough to reveal his silver eyes.

They were lifeless—motionless and stripped of emotion.

Yet, something stirred within those silver pupils—a flicker of rage, raw and profound, barely hidden behind eyes reddened and dried from tears long shed.

It was a contradiction.

How could someone appear so hollow, so dead inside, and yet harbor a storm of such violent, unfiltered hatred?

Where was this hatred even moving…?

The sole figure in this room, who had remained silent for days finally opened his mouth. He hesitated as if his words were stuck in his throat forgetting how to come out by themselves.

Then in a hoarse voice, a small whisper finally came out.

"I… what should… I do?"

After a moment of silence, he sighed deeply as his gaze flickered down.

"... Should I kill them?" He once again asked himself.

As the silence became heavier, he found his heart beat even louder than before.

His blood boiled at the thought of them being alive.

Why should they be alive, when all others were dead?

This didn't make any sense to the boy who felt finality to be the answer for his misery.

Swoosh!

As the door slid open a beam of light followed after, making the boy squint his eyes in surprise.

Tak—

Tak—

The boy with silver eyes gazed down as he turned to look away, ignoring the footsteps that entered the room.

"Leave…" He said.

The woman with beautiful white hair opened her mouth but then immediately closed it. Taking a deep breath she moved forward ignoring the boy's warning and climbed the bed.

The door closed once again filling the room with darkness.

As she crawled towards him, she stopped and sat beside him leaning on the wall.

"I said… leave."

A hoarse voice again came out from the boy's throat, his breathing quickened as he gave her a sharp look.

"Make me."

Her voice echoed as she answered calmly, making the boy grit his teeth. Sensing his rage she didn't offer any words and stayed silent for a while.

Then with a deep sigh, she contemplated choosing her words wisely she whispered.

"I, I was worried."

He nodded acknowledging her words, his eyes again downcast as he pushed his head into his knees.

"...Are you pitying me? To also get me on your side?"

"No!"

She clenched her fist tightly, bringing it closer to her heart. Her eyes flickered to see his figure in the dark, where his face looked much more pale than before.

Hesitating she slowly shifted towards him, her right hand moving closer than before until she reached him and grabbed his hand pulling him towards her.

"Wh—"

"I am not here to bring you to my side or to serve me… I am here for you, only you!"

Hearing her words, the boy froze in his place all the strength leaving his body.

His gaze again fell down.

"I know you are hurt deeply, you might have come to resent many as well. But I will say one thing…"

She touched his face, making him look at her in the eyes.

"I am on your side… and always will be as our goal remains the same."

Looking at his reflection through the mirror of her sapphire-colored eyes. His eyes widened as he could see a myriad of emotions flicker through them.

She was not feeling pity, rather it was a loss, a deep sense of pain for someone else. A girl who had everything and a boy who had nothing. Yet, she had tears in her eyes as well.

"Why are you in pain…?" He asked.

"I don't know…"

Hearing her words, the boy stayed silent for a few seconds then smiled softly before saying.

"Didn't you come to comfort me? How come the roles are just reversed now?"

But then he was suddenly pulled into her embrace.

Ba… thump!

Ba… thump!

"Your heart is beating loudly…" He said as she hugged him tighter, pressing his head above her heart.

"...Shh be silent or I will leave."

He chuckled hearing her answer and nodded in her embrace.

"Don't move as well…" She said calmly, but he could see her face reddened as well.

Not following her request he moved, his hands moving to her back and holding her a bit closer than before.

She didn't resist as she hugged him back as well. Her hands stroked his hair gently, as they both stayed like that in silence.

The young boy closed his eyes, feeling his heart flutter for a moment he shifted making the girl flinch in embarrassment.

"Are you feeling okay…?"

"No, I am not."

"I see." She paused, her emotions laid before him as the silence deepened.

"I hate them as well… I always did. Do you wish to destroy them?"

He nodded, his tired eyes again welling up with tears as he said with rage-filled hatred.

"I wish to do more than just that."

Feeling his figure starting to shiver, the girl stayed silent.

"Then let's do it together… like always. After all, no one knows about them better than me in this world. Let's kill them, all of them. Together."

He sighed, feeling the shiver in his chest. He arched his arms and clenched his fist tightly around her.

"You are cunning… not only gaining my trust but also including myself in your goal like it's given."

Hearing him, she scoffed and slapped his back.

"So, you didn't trust me before?"

"What do you think?"

She smiled and placed her head above his shoulder.

"Even though you have been holed up in your room for weeks you are still cheeky as always."

Her words came like the melody of a flute as she whispered in his ears.

"Even if our goals didn't align I would have still come here just like I did now…"

"Haha… Is that why you came to check on me every morning?"

She fell silent, her lips pulling into a soft smile.

"How did you know, I came to check on you and not for other reasons?"

"I don't know… but that's something you will do, princess."

She pinched his ears, making him hug her tighter in discomfort.

"Ow! Hurting someone who is already hurt, karma will hit you."

"For someone hugging me so tightly, you should not talk about karma."

"...Fair enough."

"Mn" She nodded, making a soft hum as they stayed together unsure about everything that was to come next.

Then silence remained deep between them, as no one dared to make a sound. Afraid to lose the everlasting peace they both had created.

Even though they both had laughed and smiled at each other while comforting each other he knew what was to come next.

The emotions within him still flicker like flames. Waiting for the moment to descend on those he had decided to judge like the wrath of gods.

He will be the judge… and she will be the judgment as she promised.

My heart trembled as I felt an indifferent coldness fill over me, a headache soon followed as I frowned.

Breaking the silence, a sense of peace washed over me as the warmth of the figure beside me remained nestled in my arms.

"I wonder if it's also a dream? Will I forget this when I wake up or will I even be alive to remember who you are?"

I stared at her hazy face, her eyes were now not hidden by a veil present at the white world like last time, they were crystal sapphire watching everything.

I seemed to forget how she looked once again, the moment I realized this was a dream.

"The enemy is too strong to defeat, I was asked to keep my will, my spirit unmovable. Yet I couldn't stand even for a second, I wonder how Lord Undying killed the Hollow so easily."

I didn't push her away as we were still in each other's arms. Rather she seems to have come alive as well in this dream, no longer a projection of the past.

Was her status so high, that even seeing her will drive me mad… Is this the reason I couldn't see her?

If yes, then it made sense knowing that Hollow ravaging my mind by his words alone was nothing more than a calamity but the one before me was a god.

"Don't give up." She whispered.

"Everything will eventually come together… This is my will, so who dares to break it."

"As long as I stand by your side, something like this could never harm you… I wish to say that but the path is yours to decide."

"I see… How curious, who are you really? I had never been able to talk in the white world or the last time you visited?" I asked.

"...."

"How the roles have changed once again." I snickered, feeling my lips curled up into a smile.

"As shameless as always." She said, then sighed snuggling closer as she whispered.

"I am on your side… now and forever. That's all you need to know."

Hearing her melody, I once again fell into silence. She wasn't going to answer any of my questions, it was obvious. So, I needed to ask something meaningful right now.

"Am I strong enough to defeat it, the Hollow I mean?"

She placed her hand above my heart, then once again answered back.

"I will be your blade, your source today. So, move forward without any dread in your heart."

"I see, thank you. May I ask one last question?"

She didn't answer, as she kept her silence.

"I will take it as a yes then… When will I be able to see you once again?"

"Whenever you want to…"

She answered playfully, I couldn't see her face as she still had her head leaning on my shoulders. But somehow I knew she was smiling.

"What a splendid answer, truly." I sighed and said in a small voice.

"...Do you remember what I said to you last time?"

As she asked, she suddenly felt distant. As I again opened my eyes she was far away from me, her back facing me.

"Not to die or you will kill me? I do, this warning stole my sleep for quite some time I must say."

"I am glad to hear that…"

As her words entered my ears, the darkness was no more.

I was once again back in the serene world of white.
