Chapter 2972: At the Western Shore
"Your biological offspring has the Sky God's physique?" Bladedance asked with no small amount of surprise. "How does that happen?"
Alex shrugged. "I don't really know how anyone is born with a specific constitution," he said. "I suppose she is just lucky, right?"
Bladedance couldn't find any words to say. She silently opened the other scrolls, seeing one image after another.
"That's my mother, my father, my aunt on my father's side, her daughter, and her son-in-law. I have all the necessary information written down on this talisman. Please pass this along to the Sky God when you can."
Bladedance wordlessly took the talisman and stored it away. She continued looking at the paintings for some time before turning back toward him.
"Who drew this?" she asked.
"I did," Alex answered.
"How are you so good at painting? Have you trained a lot?" she asked.
Alex shrugged. "A bit. I learned it for a few years when I was in the lower realm because I needed it to train for Daos. I haven't had the chance to paint as much these days, so when the opportunity came, I did."
"I see…" Bladedance said. "I can't even say I'm surprised anymore. Anyway, let us leave."
Bai Jingshen waited outside of their palace with Pearl next to him. "I'm here to escort you to the teleportation formation, senior," he said.
"Whenever you're ready."
Bai Jingshen took the group to the teleportation formation within the city that would then take them to one of the cities far in the west. Once they arrived at that city, they then flew toward the Interrealm Teleportation formation that lay on the western shore of the Black and White Continent.
"Each Interrealm Teleportation formation is located at the edge of the major continents," Bai Jingshen explained. "On the western end, we have the formation that will take you to the Sacred Lotus Dominion. In the east, we have the formation to take demons to the Mystic Demon Realms."
"There are two more in the north and the south, which take you to the two beast realms—the Twin Scar Realm and the Sun's Talon respectively."
Bladedance slowly nodded. "They must have reopened it after my last visit," she said. "Last time I came here for the treaty, they didn't allow us to travel back through here."
"I believe so," Bai Jingshen said. "I wasn't born back then, so I do not know the full truth, senior, but I do remember hearing it being shut down because of the war for the longest time. Our seniors were worried that the humans or demons would use these formations to extend the battle to the beast realms too."
Bladedance sighed. "I suppose that is understandable. Last time, we had to go back in our own ships," Bladedance said. "It took us two decades to get to the Sacred Lotus Dominion from here back then. It's good that this reopened. I won't have to spend so long."
They arrived at the shore, and even from a distance they could all see the massive teleportation formation that was at least three times larger than any such platforms Alex had seen in his life.
"Whoa!" he couldn't help but let out a soft gasp. "Just how big is it? It must cost a lot of Qi to run this thing."
"I believe it does," Bai Jingshen said. "That's why it isn't used a whole lot."
"Do the beasts not teleport away as often?" Alex asked.
"Most beasts don't teleport to the human or demon realms. Those that do are few in number and usually have to wait around until there are enough of them gathered to make it acceptable to run the formation," Bai Jingshen said. "Otherwise, you would just have to wait around until there are enough. Sometimes, that takes decades, I believe."
"Decades? They just wait around here doing nothing?" Alex asked. "Those beasts must be bored out of their minds."
"They most surely are. And of course, it's not just the beasts but the humans and demons too," Bai Jingshen said.
"Demons travel through here?" Alex asked in surprise.
"There is nothing stopping a demon from leaving for the human realms, so yes," Bai Jingshen said.
"Hmm, I never saw one," Alex said for a moment before remembering Shumi, Fairy Xin, and their friend who had tried to take over his body. Had they traveled through here as well?
"Am I going to have to wait?" Bladedance asked with an open frown.
Bai Jingshen laughed out loud. "Of course not, senior," he said. "You are the Sword God, one of the few Celestials. You are exempted from the rules set up for this formation. In fact, thanks to you, everyone who has been waiting until now will get a chance to leave with you."
"That's good. I wouldn't want to wait around here for no reason," Bladedance said.
They arrived at the shore where they got off onto the sand. Bai Jingshen walked further ahead from them, letting the beasts there know that it was time for them to leave.
Alex looked around at the massive platform and a giant building built next to it that no doubt housed the beasts that were meant to be waiting.
Bai Jingshen let the beasts know and suddenly alerts went around the place that the formation would activate very shortly. Announcements were made for everyone to gather at the formation.
Alex watched the beasts pour out of the building, a few dozen of them in total. Along with them, he also saw a few humans that walked out.
Alex wondered if they were actually humans or beasts that turned into humans. He could answer that based on aura if he were close, but from sight alone, it was harder to tell.
He counted the humans, finding about 30 in total that had seemingly been waiting to teleport away.
That was nearly as many as the beasts. That surprised Alex.
While he looked at the humans, they turned toward him as well, and their eyes met.
Instantly, the man at the very front pointed at him and shouted, "Look! That's him! That's the alchemist."
