Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 2967: Outside

The ship flew out of the field, passing through the golden barrier that surrounded the palace. They moved further away, heading in a direction that Alex very quickly learned was west.

Based on what Alex knew, there wasn't anything of importance to the west at all. The Black and White continent continued for some time toward the west, but everything that was important was in the other directions.

He wondered then where else they could be going.

As they continued, it became apparent where they were going. They were still headed west, but besides that, they were also headed up.

They slowly moved past the clouds that now hid most of the world below. As they continued moving further and further up, however, the clouds didn't matter anymore.

The clouds failed to hide the size of the world they were on.

"Brother Shen, what is going on?" Alex asked. "Are we headed to outer space?"

Bai Jingshen smiled. "That's precisely it."

Since the Land of the Blessed Sun was much larger than any other world they had been to, it took some time before they were out of the atmosphere, flying into outer space.

Outside, Alex was surprised to see many floating ships all around the world, hovering like fortresses in the sky.

"What… what are those?" Alex asked in awe.

"Defensive forces of this realm," Bai Jingshen said. "Entry for just about everyone is restricted in this world, so we have people standing guard here to stop outsiders from attempting to come in this way. Those that do are sent back to where they came from."

"If they do not do so, they are then captured and stripped of all their possessions before being sent back to either the Sacred Lotus Dominion or the Mystic Demon realm, depending on who they are."

"Mystic Demon realm… is that the only demon world whose teleportation formation is connected to this world?" Alex asked.

Bai Jingshen nodded.

That was a fascinating bit of information that Alex had never heard of. He had never imagined he would visit a world where it was physically guarded from entry by outsiders.

He had never even imagined the possibility of someone going from world to world the long way around while they weren't even invited.

"Are there many such individuals that come to this world?" Alex asked.

"Not really," Bai Jingshen said. "Most don't like taking the risk of traveling through space. They instead attempt to come through the teleportation formation between the realms, but that too is heavily restricted with only a few ever being allowed entry."

Alex narrowed his eyes. "It must be common knowledge then that humans or demons aren't allowed to come through here. So there shouldn't be many that still come through here, right?"

"You would think so, but there's apparently been a surge of people trying to come here these past few centuries. The humans especially had gotten rowdy about something, although they never let anyone know what it was."

"I see," Alex said. He looked around at the giant ships that floated far away. He could sense Divine sense locking onto them for a few seconds, especially on Alex, before moving back.

Alex moved to the edge of the ship and looked down at the massive world that lay beneath their feet. Compared to every other world, it was still so massive that he couldn't see from one edge to the other.

It filled his entire field of vision.

"Certainly this is not what we came to see here, did we?"

"Have patience," Bai Jingshen said. "We haven't reached where we should."

The ship continued flying, this time slower than before. There was no rush. Alex looked around the ship, seeing the bluish clouds covering the base of the ship light up and dim down, like a thousand glowing bees buzzing inside of it.

He had never seen a Transmigration Cloud in action. It constantly absorbed the dangerous blasts from the sun, making it so that the ship itself didn't have to use too much energy to protect them.

The atmosphere of every realm did this exact same thing, which couldn't help but make Alex feel even more surprised about everything.

"Have you been in outer space before?" Bai Jingshen asked.

"A few times," Alex answered. "When we were in the Eclipsing Heaven realm, I flew out in order to try and see how close I could get to the Ever Dark realm."

"Eclipsing Heaven realm," Bai Jingshen thought. "I am quite ignorant about the human worlds. Is the Eclipsing Heaven realm big?"

"Yes, of course," Alex said. "But, perhaps not when compared to this realm. The Eclipsing Heaven realm was decently large, but this world looks far larger than that."

"That I am aware of," Bai Jingshen said. "This is the single largest world out there after all."

Alex nodded, not knowing what else to say. He didn't even know what it was they were doing out here for. What need would they have to come here when talking about the mural on the wall? What context was there that he could get here?

"You might have seen the Eclipsing Heaven realm, but due to the smaller size of that world, it might not have been quite apparent," Bai Jingshen said.

"What wasn't?" Alex asked.

"The shape," Bai Jingshen said.

"The shape?"

Bai Jingshen nodded. He gestured to the edge of the ship. "We're far enough out. It should be noticeable now."

Alex wasn't sure what it was that Bai Jingshen wanted to show him, but he still turned his head, looking back down toward the world he had left behind.

The Land of the Blessed Sun was now much smaller to him, the entire thing only covering half his field of vision. At the same time, they had flown far enough west of the land that they were now staring down at the realm at an angle.

And at this angle, Alex saw something that he had never seen or expected to see on any of the realms.

With the large enough size, it was visible that the surface of this world wasn't as flat at all.

The surface had a curvature to it.
