Escaped My Ex, Got Snatched by His Rival

Chapter 19: Locked her up.

Noah's eyes darkened. His gaze slid from her face to the agreement, she then heard him say, "If it is an apology that you want——"

His words were uttered through gritted teeth.

Ari knew it took almost everything Noah had in him to bring himself to apologize to her. Too bad. His apology was three years late, and she didn't care about it as much as she did in the past.

What was more, Ari knew that people like Noah never apologized, even if they did not mean it and if they somehow meant it, there was a hidden motive.

"There is no need," Ari suppressed her boiling anger. She was truly angered, did Noah think that a mere 'sorry' could fix everything up? It was as if he hoped to piece the pieces of broken glass together with a bandage and present it as new. "I have realized that our marriage is not a particularly happy one. I would rather not waste our time, once we finalize the divorce, you can proceed with your happiness and … I, too, can move on with what I like."

Ari ignored the stabbing pain in her heart. So what if she met with a tool in her life? Many women meet even more tools compared to them, she was still better off. She was also young, she could always find someone else.

Maybe. Fortunately.

Noah, on the other hand, felt the same rage in his heart as Ari. However, emotional bursts were not his modus operandi, he preferred trapping people in the correct corner at the exact position where he wanted them on the chessboard.

For three years, Ari was standing in neutral on the very position where he wanted her. Everything was going fine, this pawn of his was perfect and everything was nice, however now she was suddenly moving on her.

It threw him off, the plans that he had planned were all disrupted because of this insolent and insignificant woman.

He looked at her blue eyes, which sparked with a fierce glint. Usually, her eyes were like a dormant volcano, blank and muted, but now they were alight with deadly flames as if she was about to explode at any moment.

"You want to move on with someone else?" He questioned as he looked at Ari. She was dressed in a skintight dress that offered a modest view of her curves, including the curved slope of her round breasts. He had often asked her to wear modest dresses because he wanted to see Ariel's shadow in her, but at the same time, he did not want her to shine brighter than she should.

It made him feel in control. He knew that everything was going according to his plan as long as Ari was under his grasp.

But now as he looked at his wife's plump lips, rosy cheeks and slender neck that could enchant even the devil, he knew that she was no longer willing to stay quietly. This could not go on.

"That's right, if you marry Ariel…then shouldn't I get someone else?" She asked as if it were obvious.

Noah noticed the moment when she went in for the attack.

She wanted to hurt him like he did to her, just like last night. The only difference was that she was less chaotic and more controlled.

He narrowed his eyes, he ignored the discomfort in his heart as he turned to his butler and said, "Lock her up. Don't give her any meal and water until she changes her mind."

If the soft approach does not work, then he would go for the hard one.

Noah could not allow Ari to leave, not only because he did not want her to be happy, but because she was the key to finding the murderer of his grandmother.

If she left, then how would he reach the murderer?

Ari's eyes widened when she heard Noah's order, she raised her hand to slap him, but before she could hit him, he caught her wrist and effortlessly twisted to his side.

She winced as she heard him say, "That is not safe, now, is it? Do you think that I will let you hit me twice? I am not only your husband but also stronger than you. If you dare to move around too much, then I will squash you like an insignificant bug that you are. I hope that you will not push me to that point."

His voice was threatening, and Ari felt her face contorted with rage and pain. She glared at him and shouted, "You cannot lock me up! This is illegal!"

"Well, too bad that I am the one who is going to decide whether It's legal or not and in my house it's not," he flung her hand harshly such that she stumbled inside the room. Taking opportunity of her loss of footing, he reached out and closed the door, leaving Ari inside.

She heard the sound of a key turning and her eyes widened. Ari stabilized her footing and rushed to the door before she banged her hands on the wooden surface of the door, "What are you doing? Noah, open the door! You cannot lock me up like this!"

"Open the door!" Ari shouted, but the man behind the door did not even budge, he looked at the butler who locked the door and waited for the butler to hand him the key.

As soon as the butler handed the key to him, Noah turned to look at his mother and sister before saying, "Without my permission, no one is allowed to open the door. Let her stay inside until she understands that she cannot act willfully."

His plans were yet to be set in motion, the murderer of his grandmother wasn't caught yet, so how could this woman leave?

Madam Nelson nodded while releasing a sigh of relief, while Glynn frowned. She did not question her brother, instead, she waited for Noah to leave before turning to look at her mother, only then did she question her mother, "Why is my brother refusing to divorce that woman? Shouldn't he be happy that she is willing to leave him?"

"Leave these matters to your brother," Mother Nelson hid her guilty conscience as she advised her daughter. "If he does not want to divorce that woman, then what can we do?"

After she finished speaking, she dragged Glynn away from the door, without letting her question her anymore.
