Chapter 7: Chapter 7 - One Minute Equals One Day_1
Happy Mid-Autumn Festival to everyone!
Is he petty? That could be really problematic. Before Lin Feng left, Du You noticed his cold gaze linger on Lao Er and also briefly scanned himself. He couldn't possibly be this unlucky, could he?
Ever since coming to this world, there have been no benefits for transmigrators, no golden finger for transmigrators, yet somehow this knack for offending others seemed to have found him. He has always been low-profile! He just assisted Lao Er, it couldn't possibly have caused this right?
Du You shook his head. Regret was pointless now, and besides even given another chance, he would still choose to do the same. How could he watch his dormitory brother get into a conflict with others in front of him and not help?
"Is that weakling seriously planning to cause trouble for me? Let him, he won't even know how he died." Lao Er flung his fists about, seemingly not the least bit frightened of Lin Feng.
While they were in their deliberation, a white-haired old man appeared at some point on the high stage of the martial arts arena. That's right, appeared, he didn't walk up step by step.
"Students, quiet down and line up. The ceremony of Law Formalization is about to begin. Our Law Formalization did not come easily, it is a precious treasure left to us by our predecessors at the cost of their lives. So..."
Just as he stepped up, the old man non-stopped talking. Du You looked up and sighed in his heart. "Mr. Principal, you're still the same, always this talkative regardless of the world."
Correct, this old man was their principal at the Jiao Da Affiliated Middle School. He seldom showed up during regular times, but whenever there was a need for a speech, he would be there and would speak for hours without repeating himself. In other schools, several leaders took turns to speak, but it was always the principal alone here in their school, with no opportunity for other leaders to speak.
Therefore, in their school, other leaders kept their speeches brief, or they wouldn't finish in time.
Sure enough, matching his guess, the principal kept talking for two hours non-stop. If it wasn't for the deputy principal's reminder, he might have continued speaking for another two hours. The time couldn't be wasted in such a manner any longer.
Finally, they managed to drag the principal away, and immediately the deputy principal said, "All class advisors, maintain order, do not create a ruckus. Remember, you will only have one day in the Law Formalized Derived World, and one minute here equates to one day there, so don't unnecessary mental burden. Be prepared with the necessary items, and don't bring anything you shouldn't."
"The Deputy Principal's speeches are still so succinct and clear." Lao Er's voice rumbled.
At this time, Lao Si was hiding behind Lao Er, presumably avoiding Xiao Yun again. He wondered what would happen between them in the future.
"So this is the process of Law Formalization? It looks pretty simple." Du You watched as each one lined up to enter that cultivation pod which then closed them in, with the condition inside beyond anyone's knowledge.
Upon their entrance, the surrounding light points started to gather and abruptly accelerated to circulate faster. After a minute, it exploded and stopped, and the individual inside would then step out, the majority of whom seemed despondent.
Each round would have ten people, but not every round would have one person successfully completing the Law Formalization to become an Awakener.
Estimating roughly, only about one in ten could pass. Of the remaining, less than half would become Semi-Awakened. A successful Awakener would emit a complete, long-lasting white halo.
If the person became Semi-Awakened, the halo would be incomplete and very dim.
The rest who failed emitted nothing. Some maintained calm expressions while others broke down in tears immediately upon exiting. Security would promptly escort these mentally broken contestants away.
The atmosphere in the martial arts arena slowly grew tense.
"Tsk, what a fragile spirit they have. They break down just like that." Lao Er spoke with utter contempt.
Watching intently, Du You saw another group of people moving forward. As the door to the cultivation pod opened, a white halo appeared around a student, very bright, making the student stand out.
"Huh, isn't that Xi Qianxue? She's successful." Du You looked curiously at Lao Er.
Lao Er rolled his eyes in annoyance, "It's just a rule, not any official statistic. He's the Awakener now, you have even less of a chance."
"Since when have I said that I want to pursue her?" Du You rolled his eyes with irritation. Talk about a false accusation.
But judging from Lao Er's expression, he clearly was not convinced. Du You didn't bother to explain.
"It's nearly our turn, prepare yourself." Du You checked his large backpack once more. He had brought everything he had bought, useful or not, regulations or not.
Entering a Law Formalized world, one can't carry high-tech products or weapons that exceed a certain specification. These were not allowed. The items he bought wouldn't obviously violate these rules.
"Haha, Xi Qianxue lives up to the name of the most capable and beautiful girl in school. She's good enough for this young master."
From not far away, an annoying voice from Lin Feng's mouth drifted over. He spoke with his eyes focused on Lao Er, as if deliberately flaunting his superiority.
Such actions made Du You a bit worried, he felt they definitely needed to be careful with this kind of petty person around.
"Weakling, I'm waiting for you to cause trouble." An almost physical confrontation between Lao Er and Lin Feng instantly took place.
People who didn't know the situation would think that Lao Er was the transmigrator here. His fearless nature was really similar. Could it be that he was a fake transmigrator, or just a mere foil?
Just as he was thinking, their turn arrived. "Stop daydreaming, hurry in."
"Do we need to go through security?" In front of the cultivation pod, there was a security officer with a metal stick in his hand.
"Might as well, it would be terrible if we brought in something we shouldn't have." Lao Da adjusted his glasses as he spoke.
"Out of my way, reptile. I'm not clueless like the rest of you." Lin Feng was right behind them and in the same group.
Luckily, this guy was not in their class. Otherwise, their class would have been filled with negativity.
The reception officer did not take offense. He explained the necessary precautions while sweeping them with the metal stick. So, this thing was not a cultivation pod, but a World Boat. Its purpose was to transport people to other worlds. This particular one was custom made specifically for Law Formalization.
It didn't take long for all of them to complete the security checks. Then they entered the enormous World Boat. As the World Boat slowly closed, everything outside seemed to recede further away.
