NOVEL NEXT Chapter 39: Confrontation
Nitya woke up with a stir, her sleep had been disrupted due to the dream once again. But this time, she found that Mehul and Ruchi were soundly asleep on the chairs they had been sitting on. She looked at them, guilt wreaking havoc in her mind- she was the reason behind everything, wouldn't it be great for everyone if she had not been the way she was! Her mind was drifting towards self-doubt once again, wondering why all these people were willing to suffer for her sake, and if she was even worth it or not. That was when she suddenly remembered the whole dream, and that there had been a kiss!
This was the most horrifying dream or thought she could ever have. She blurted out to herself "Yuck! How can I kiss someone, and that too on his lips! The bacteria..." a cold shiver ran through her body when she unconsciously put her fingers on her lips, thinking carefully about the dream. They were the same people she had been dreaming about for quite a while. 'How could this be possible, she had never even met them! She might not remember each and every face she had been introduced to, but she did remember the voices very clearly, she could even recognize the voice she had heard only once in her lifetime, within seconds. That was also the reason why her family wanted her to pursue a career in music, but she had known from the very beginning that glamour was not her cup of tea.'
She suddenly gasped when she realized that she had been telling the person something about being a celebrity. 'What the heck was this, had she seen him in some movie or something? But the movies she had watched till date could be counted on her finger tips alone, so she would have remembered if that was the case. Did she need to talk to Surbhi about this? But how would she explain everything to her, what if she ended up thinking that she was making up stories? Maybe she really needed to try therapy, all the drama and trauma she had been through during her undergraduate years must have managed to trigger her entire subconscious!' She decided to message Surbhi and brief her about everything, but before she could pick up her phone, she felt sleepy once again, as if somebody was forcing her to sleep by putting their hands on her eyes. Within minutes, she had been transported to her dreamland again.

Aldrick looked at Amélie, somewhat confused; what was she trying to convey? They both knew that there was still time left for Nitya's heart to open up fully, because the build-up she had created in her mind regarding love had touches of both, idealism and reality. She had always dreamt of having an ideal love story, but she also hated the cruel and bitter true side of the love stories- she had been witness to many a modern day bitter lust coated with the sweet exterior of love, which fell off rather quickly. 'She had always believed in fairy tales and fantasized about wanting a fairy-tale love story for herself, but she was also aware that something like that was not possible in this era. Even if it had been possible, the part of herself that loved to hang out in perpetual denial, had assured her that nobody was going to love her like that and the hardships she had faced had made her cling to this belief even more stubbornly. The girl didn't even know that she was not the reason behind this, the reason was-'
Aldrick's chain of thoughts was broken when he heard Reneé's voice, and he turned around to see that she had shown up there along with Zacharie. Even though Aldrick was the one who was the most innocent out of all three, Reneé's glaring orbs were making him feel like a culprit for some crime that hadn't even been committed! Meanwhile his sister, who had actually taken a drastic step without consulting anyone, stood up with her chin in the air. He was trying to convince himself that it was alright, that it couldn't get any worse than this, when he heard Jasper and Ivan's voice as well- now he knew that it could indeed get worse, and it had!
Reneé shouted with all the energy she could muster, "Tell me! Tell me why did you...why did you choose to do that?"
Amélie knew that all of them were there to try and help her, because apparently they were also experiencing the pain through her- they loved her so much, probably from the first day of having known her. 'Their love for her had been there from the very beginning of the story, but why couldn't they just leave her alone now- they had already tried several times, and every time, they had to face the same defeat. Then why were they still willing to fight, when the battle didn't even concern them? The pain was supposed to be endured by Zacharie and her, then why?!' She wanted to speak, but as soon as she started out, her voice broke before she could manage to utter a single word.
Zacharie knew that she was on the verge of crying, he knew that she was going to shout and want everybody to leave her alone, thinking that everything was her own fault, when the fault was entirely his. He quickly stepped forward and held her in a hug, saying "Amélie, please let them have a chance. Only one chance to meet each other, I am sure this time they will manage to change their destinies, as you have already done half of the work, unlike me. I am the one to be blamed about-"
Jasper looked at Zacharie, widened his eyes and gestured at him to be quiet, signifying that he had said enough. When Zacharie didn't seem to notice any of Jasper's warning signs, he raised his voice and stopped him in the middle of the sentence.
"You know very well that I have forbidden everyone from talking about the mistakes you have done, as she might not remember her full power but she still is the part of Amélie only. She has all the powers within her, she can still sense the energies...and more importantly, she might be able to dream about it. And on top of that, when even their star positions are the same as before-"
Ivan patted Jasper's shoulder before he could speak and reveal something further, saying "Some things can really never change! Look at you stopping him from talking about the past, and then revealing it by yourself within seconds! No wonder Kaoru is so clumsy at keeping secrets as well!"
Aldrick, Zacharie and Ivan laughed at the trait that continued to haunt Kaoru, while Jasper smiled with embarrassment, looking at his toes. But Reneé and Amélie were busy communicating with each other through their eyes, which they had also become aware of only after hearing laughter around them. Zacharie said in a sulking tone, "We all know very well that you are her soulmate, Reneé; but the two of you do know that I am supposed to be her twin flame, right? Then why you do you two always act like you guys are the twin flames-"
He hadn't even completed his sentence, when Amélie shouted, her tears bursting forth as if the flood gates had been opened after ages. "I have already acknowledged that everything was my mistake, but I had never estimated that it was supposed to hurt me for so long. I can't bear it anymore, please somebody help me out from the pain, or just leave her alone-"
This was when Reneé also broke out into tears, saying "Stop hiding my mistakes! We both know very well that everything was my fault, due to which this whole mess was created in the first place! And now I shall be the one to clear up this mess, just give me some time and believe me..."
Amélie replied with a helpless smile, "I do believe you. I believe in you more than myself, but isn't time the only thing I am in desperate lack of, in every lifetime?"
