Interlude: Ren Incantum 17
“Magic, at least to me, has never been a confusing concept–an energy mimicking the natural forces of the world controlled by an individual. Simple. Easy. Concise. But aspect? Now that’s a different story altogether. I understand the core idea, power based on a concept, the application of which depends on the individual. But what exactly it was never quite made sense, and any time I’d ask, I always got the same answer; aspect is the actualization of the self, whatever that’s meant to mean. So, as I typically do when I don’t understand something, I asked Magikus, the creator of aspect…or at least I thought. He actually sat me down and told me the original story of how the concept came to be, something I never thought I’d hear. Apparently, a woman by the name of Eyin was the first aspect bearer. She was a bright and bubbly girl with the mischievous spirit of a devil and the emotions of 1000 men. In fact, she cared so deeply about everyone and everything, that she unwittingly altered her biology using her presence, creating both an unheard of use of presence and the world's first aspect–aspect of emotion–which of course was later subdivided into 4 emotions, but that’s not relevant to this story. Apparently Magikus, inspired by Eyin’s creation, studied this new power, reverse engineering exactly what she’d done to create this power, thus founding the 5 fundamental aspects.
Aspect of Emotion
Aspect of Disaster
Aspect of Gold
Aspect of Heaven
Aspect of Magic
Although, Nasiphiles did eventually get his own aspect, but that was a whole other mess, something completely unrelated to any of the other aspects. Yet despite that, I decided it should also qualify as a fundamental aspect, namely because it gets passed down through blood like the other 5, thus creating the 6th fundamental aspect.
Aspect of Reality”
