Enmity of Atlas

Interlude: Ren Incantum 15

“‘Doesn’t it just seem a bit unfair? Like clueless children overseeing lands they have no right to dominion over! You’re only still alive because the colossi don’t care enough to deal with you themselves.’

‘I agree…to some extent. My brothers and sisters are corrupted beings, their greed extending far across the land. That much, at least, we can agree on. But what do you intend to do about it? No missive would sway their minds, and they’d probably kill you just for trying.’

‘Then we fight. There’s no other option.’

‘You’d fight against them? That’s insane. Even you couldn’t hope to kill them all alone. I wouldn't stand against you, but you’d need an entire army of allies if you hoped to stand a chance.’

‘I rallied this entire nation together before. I can do it again.’

‘One nation alone won’t be enough. You know that.’

‘Then I’ll get another. Luradin, Cataclyst, Magnius, and Nasipheles would stand by me if I called them. And that’s just the beginning. Godrin, Ruvulous, Irvren, Falfiar, even Aya. Hell, if need be, I’d track down Atlas, convince him and every other colossus to fight by our side. We’ll outnumber them 2:1 with the greatest warriors in existence.’

‘What about Feln?’

‘I’ll convince him, no matter what it takes. We can’t sit back idle forever as control is slowly ripped away! Wasn’t that the oath I made!? To protect my people–this world!?’

‘...and if you lose?’

‘Then I’ll die standing. Are you with me?’

‘You’re asking me to kill my own flesh and blood.’

‘I’m asking you to do what needs to be done. You said it yourself. They’re beyond saving.’

‘...fine. I’m with you. Don’t make me regret this.’”
