Chapter 16- Kim Minji
' No, no way, maybe I'm just thinking too much. It must be Aunt Lilith who texted Luna ' Prima reasoned to herself. She coughed twice before asking Luna casually, "You finally smiled. Is it Aunt?" Prima asked.
Luna paused for a moment before restraining herself from smiling. "No, just... a notice from the company," she replied.
Luna felt awkward telling lies, but she couldn't say it was from Mira, could she? ' Prima will definitely scold me if I told her it's Mira '
Prima's smile twitched when Luna answered, Luna was easy to read when she lied. If she didn't talk and acted as if she didn't hear anything, maybe she might believe it. But looking at Luna dodging her eyes, it was obvious she was lying.
Tina shook her head. Prima supported Luna getting close to Mira and even shipped them secretly. But since Mira treated Luna coldly after all this time, it was understandable that Prima would be somewhat annoyed and feel bad. However, it was obviously different for Luna, the person involved herself. Even Tina, although she approved of Mira, would still feel bad for Luna. It's just that she didn't understand why Luna looked like she wasn't affected at all. First, she was sad and aggrieved, and the next second she would be fine like nothing happen. Now, that person obviously texted her but wouldn't admit it. Nevertheless, her smile and denial that it was Aunt only concluded that it was Mira.
'She's smart but also sometimes a fool,' Tina thought as she focused on driving.
Luna looked at Mira's message. She was asking if Luna was available tonight and if so, she'd be waiting for her at the garden villa. Luna felt so excited when she saw that Mira didn't take long this time to message her, but she still felt so aggrieved about earlier and now she felt clueless about what to do. She bit her nail unconsciously while in a dilemma, but thankfully, Prima was there.
Prima quickly held Luna's hand when she saw her biting it. This was Luna's bad habit when she was nervous.
"Tell me what's wrong. Don't bite your nails," Prima reprimanded.
Luna hesitated. Tina saw this, so she spoke to Luna too. "Luna, we're your friends. If you have some trouble, don't hesitate to tell us. Even if it will make us angry, as long as you're happy, don't hesitate... If you need us to bully someone or kidnap them, we can also handle that," Tina said, but her latter words were just a joke trying to ease the atmosphere in the car.
However, Prima, who also listened to Tina, seemed like only the latter part had heard and didn't take it as a joke. "That's right, Luna. Do you want us to beat someone?"
Luna looked at her friends with a blank look. She didn't like joking about something like this, and the way Prima took Tina's words only made her uncomfortable.
"Stop talking nonsense," Luna replied, frowning. Then she continued, "I don't want to hear these kinds of words. Tina, don't joke like that. Look, Prima didn't even get that it was a joke."
Tina only laughed. For her, it didn't matter how they received her words, as long as the person her words were directed to got it, that was enough for her. She saw Luna looking at her with anger, so she only nodded.
Luna, who wanted to ask for advice, decided not to. 'I'll just meet her today. If I postponed it, she might change her mind in a second.' After some thought, she agreed to meet Mira without mentioning it to her friends.
---
Mira looked at Luna's reply. She actually planned to ignore Luna, but when she got home, she saw the teardrop necklace at her study table. Even if she wanted to be a cold-hearted villain, she couldn't help but soften her heart as she knew Luna's approach to her was pure.
She touched the necklace. She knew it was expensive, just the box of it. Now that she had sent the address to Luna, she could only ask for a favor from her only friend, although she didn't really want to disturb that person.
Mira made a call, and unexpectedly, it was answered immediately.
"Kim Minji?" Mira asked in doubt.
"It's me," Minji replied.
"You're not busy?" Mira asked.
"The dance practice just ended. We're taking a break. It's rare for you to call," Minji said.
"I just don't want to disturb you. By the way, congratulations on your comeback," Mira said.
"Haha, thank you. I'm a bit busy lately, but it won't be the same after the promotion," Minji replied.
"Then I'll call you more often after your promotion," Mira said.
"Sure. Anyway, do you need my help on something?" Minji asked in a teasing tone.
Mira felt embarrassed being teased. Minji was her childhood friend, and although Minji would go abroad to study, they didn't lose their communication. Only Minji would stick to her when they were children, and of course, by the time they grew up, they already knew each other well, so it was no wonder that Minji could guess Mira's roundabout way.
"It's like this. I owe someone, and I promised her that we would go out to eat," Mira paused, thinking if her words were right.
"Date?" Minji asked.
"No," Mira said quickly, then continued, "But... it's kind of complicated. In short, I really can't eat with her out, so I asked her to meet me at the garden villa."
"Oh~ I understand, hehe. It's easy. I'll just make a call, and that place would be reserved for you and your date. By the way, what about the food? Should I ask for the cook to prepare, or will you prepare it yourself?" Minji asked with a smirk, obviously having fun teasing her friend.
"It's not a date... *sigh* Just reserve the place. I'll do the preparation and... cooking," Mira said. While at some point, she felt that it wasn't right, she just couldn't tell where it was wrong.
"And you said it's not a date, ha?" Minji murmured to herself, shaking her head. Her friend Mira was really smart. She had a high IQ that Minji really envied, but thankfully, Mira also had a low EQ, which made her feel balanced, still her friend even with her low EQ is really romantic ' Mira might not know her romantic traits '
"What did you say?" Mira asked, as she didn't hear Minji say because the sound was too low.
"I said, you can go there now. You can use whatever you need there. Treat it as your own place," Minji replied.
"Thank you. If you need anything in the future, you can also ask me," Mira said.
"Haha, don't thank me, we're like sister and family so no need for this formal words. Anyway in the future when you become a big boss, I know you will back me up and my members," Minji said jokingly.
"Of course," Mira answered, and she really took that words to heart.
