Chapter 418 Going to Do Business with Security (2)
Online discussions often easily go off-topic. Initially, they were all envying that Mysterious Hunter's rapid upgrade, but within a few lines, the conversation shifted to the fervent hope for the end of the war.
The subsequent comments were very similar, with anti-war sentiments surging through the phone screens like tides.
Ye Nai quietly tapped the refresh button, brushing away these contents related to the Hunter rankings.
The Staff Department had taken away the video materials, planning to carefully review them, selecting usable segments to hand over to the national media. By then, the nationwide population would naturally learn from the media that the war was about to completely end.
Looking at the various troubles and anti-war sentiments of the people now, it was rather interesting.
In fact, with this war dragging on, the public's war-weariness was indeed normal.
Most resources had to be supplied to the army, civil resources were severely squeezed, and everyone's spirits were stretched to the limit like a taut rubber band, long overdue for relief, desperately needing some great news to liberate the mental fatigue of the populace.
Regarding this, Ye Nai had no solution, only hoping the higher-ups would act quickly. Even if they couldn't release the full news, dropping some hints would be good for raising public anticipation.
An hour later, Ye Nai received a message on her phone, the new security personnel had settled in, and someone was assigned to go with her to get the new car registered.
Normally, with Ye Nai's current status, she could easily write an authorization letter, letting the security personnel handle it with her documents on her behalf.
But she was unwilling, just wanting to go for a stroll on the street.
She could be a homebody, but that didn't mean she was content to just go back and forth every day without any need for street entertainment.
While Ye Nai went out to handle her affairs, the logistics department's massive warehouse was abuzz with activity.
Space storage warriors and large trucks began moving, transporting supplies batch by batch into the East Ridge Secret Realm and Otherworld's Knight Territory.
The Transmission Port to the East Ridge Secret Realm was just outside the gate of Town No. 2, a ready-made building with complete facilities, just needed a clean-up to move in, and water, electricity, and communications to be restored.
This was thanks to the hurried evacuation from the East Ridge Secret Realm back then, where they only managed to take small, movable items, leaving behind the unmoved ones which were now repurposed.
In the Otherworld's Knight Territory, they set up temporary prefab houses on the open land between the warehouse and the mansion, solving housing issues first, with plans to build permanent structures in the future slowly.
Although the existing resources in that massive warehouse looked plentiful, they were far from enough for the construction needs of the two places. A lot more resources stored elsewhere awaited transport, and only when everything was sorted out would Ye Nai be invited to close the Transmission Port.
Ye Nai handled the new car registration, drove the new car with security personnel straight to the wholesale market, buying oil, salt, sugar, tea, and any bulk goods available until the market closed for the day, then drove to a restaurant for dinner.
After eating and paying, standing at the street-side, Ye Nai didn't take out the new off-road vehicle stored in Space, but beckoned the security personnel to follow under the guide of the surrounding spore map to a dark, dead-end alley.
She opened the Transmission Port and stepped back home.
In the dim light, activating the living room's big lamp, seeing the familiar room, the security personnel couldn't help but clap and laugh.
"This Space Transmission is so convenient."
"Yeah, no matter where you go, you can be home in a step."
"How do you want to schedule shifts tomorrow?" Ye Nai opened the refrigerator, taking some drinks over, handing one to each person.
"Depending on where you want to go tomorrow, how many people you need, we can all come along."
"Our female team mainly follows you closely, those two female academicians, unless needed, usually go with their accustomed security."
"How about going to Otherworld for business tomorrow? Since I came back, all business contacts with Otherworld have been cut off, we need to reconnect them."
"Sounds good, sounds good."
Ye Nai took out a large bag of Translation Mushrooms from Space and gave it to them.
"Take them back as a midnight snack, make a cold dish out of them to eat, I'll forward the digital copies of the photos they took during the day to you later."
"Okay."
"Tomorrow wear your training uniforms, look sharp like a personal security team."
"Understood."
Ye Nai also asked about their assigned dormitory building and unit, using the spore map guidance around the apartment, she opened the Transmission Port in her living room.
Before they went over, someone came from the other side, who were their teammates.
They chatted briefly on this side, agreeing to meet at seven the next morning to buy breakfast at the canteen, stock up on food, the security team members finally went through the Transmission Port to rest.
Ye Nai took out her laptop, packed the daily correspondence files stored on the hard drive, and sent them to her security captain, took a shower, changed clothes, and curled up in bed browsing her phone, ready to sleep.
As she browsed, she came across today's news.
Also talking about a newcomer added to the Silver-level Hunter rankings.
The audience comments below were full of envious remarks.
Ye Nai caught one comment that said Silver-level Hunters get a monthly subsidy, and even if they retire one day, they still get it for life, until they die.
This comment garnered over ten thousand likes.
For most who aspire to climb the rankings, Copper Level is usually the ceiling. More people have to retire or switch careers at Iron-level due to numerous injuries.
Once on the Silver Level rankings, you get a lifetime subsidy; who wouldn't want that? Yet nationwide, there are only ninety-six, so it's hard to even envy.
The top Gold Level ranking members are even less, a total of seven people, all anonymous, information confidential, checking the residence, they're all concentrated in the nation's top cities.
This is understandable, only wealthy, affluent cities can afford such top-tier talent.
After reading the comments, Ye Nai opened the Awakener app, saw unread messages in the background, clicked to see, and it was indeed a welfare notice for Silver-level Hunters, reminding her that Silver-level Hunters receive a subsidy from the month they make the list, if past the fifth of the month subsidy day, it carries over to the fifth of the following month to be issued.
This month was already past the fifth, her Administration Bureau special stipend had already arrived, but this Silver-level subsidy would have to wait until next month.
Ye Nai didn't mind at all, she didn't need the money to get by, next month was fine.
Continuing to check the welfare details, seeing that she could customize personal weapons and equipment, she suddenly remembered that her personal combat boots, which she had always wanted to make for years, still weren't done. The lasts were ready, but she never had the time to seek a shoemaker for the next step.
Evaluating the upcoming work, she probably still wouldn't have time to make new shoes.
After the war then.
Having had a good night's sleep, the next day 6:30 AM, before 7, Ye Nai called out in the female security group.
Today is the weekend, the canteen will serve breakfast on time, but there won't be as many diners as usual, they gathered under the apartment building, drove swiftly to the canteen, packed takeaways, especially buns, steamed bread, pancakes, and dumplings ready to eat as rations, cup heat soymilk packed two for each person.
