Endless World: The Rise of Leonard Lawson

Chapter 137: Information Exchange Deal

"Are you saying there was a woman who was deceiving you all inside the Dark Chamber?" Shirley was agitated and asked Jenny.

"Yes, she was unique because I didn't see her wearing any beads around her wrist." Jenny nodded. She remembered vividly because of this particular difference.

Every woman held captive here was given a bracelet with at least one bead. The beads were their status and level of privilege. It was also secured tightly to them, ensuring it cannot be lost or stolen by anyone else.

Therefore, many of them were sensitive to the bracelet and would continuously look at it. After all, the beads were like a constant reminder to them of their situation.

Shirley also understood how Jenny recalled it deeply.

"I'll have to go now." She swiftly said and darted to the Dark Chamber.

This kind of information was critical, and based on her understanding of the Master, he would turn soft toward the tragic woman.

If this woman whom Jenny mentioned was truly working for the Slave Coop and not a captive person, then Leonard would be in danger.

As Shirley panicked internally and tried to rush to Leonard's aid, back at the interior, Naomi was guiding Leonard to the hidden passage.

The hidden passage was quite narrow and very dim. One could easily hear the other's breathing.

"Sir, there is light up ahead." Naomi suddenly paused her steps and pointed afar.

"If there's light ahead, then the person whom you mentioned should be there." Leonard lightly commented.

"We should be cautious, Sir." She subsequently warned him of the danger.

"They aren't humans for committing such experiments on us. They disregard the laws and treat humans like livestock."

"Mhmm, such people deserve a death similar to Wally's, right?" Leonard mused. "Don't you agree too, Naomi?"

"O-Of course," Naomi clenched her fist and nodded. Her eyes glinted in a fierce light. "People like Wally deserve an extremely painful death."

Sometime later, the duo arrived at the lighted area.

"Who are you?" Upon arriving, a man in the room was startled by their appearance. Their eyes hovered at Naomi for a brief moment before shifting to Leonard.

"How dare you intrude on my secret base, you cursed vermin!"

Instantly, Naomi shrieked in fear and hurriedly tried to rush behind Leonard to take cover.

"Alright, that's the end of this play." But before she could succeed, Leonard suddenly clasped his hands together. He raised his leg and swung it at Naomi's abdomen.

THUMP!

Naomi's pupils shrank as she didn't expect to be attacked by him all of a sudden.

The kick strength wasn't light either. Naomi coughed up a mouthful of blood as she crashed toward the man.

The force effectively caused the man to stumble and fall to the ground.

"W-Why, Sir?" Naomi appeared visibly confused, their eyes somewhat hazy. She held an aggrieved expression on her face.

"Didn't I say that was the end of the play?" Leonard chuckled and stared at her pathetically.

"You aren't even a captive, so naturally, I don't need to be lenient to you."

Naomi's eyes widened in disbelief. She couldn't comprehend how she was caught.

Her acting and body movements were aligned with a true level 1 captive woman.

Given the ruthless kick from Leonard, she knew that he wasn't kidding about knowing she was a fake.

Thus, she stood up with much difficulty. As for the man that she crashed into, Naomi's eyes glinted coldly as she triggered the blade mechanism concealed in her shoe and stabbed straight at their heart.

The man made a muffled sound, their pupils constricting in utter disbelief that she was so cruel as to kill him. He extended his hands and tried to grasp Naomi's ankles, his eyes full of resentment.

Alas, Naomi simply snorted and twisted her leg a bit, causing the blade to swirl around its injury.

In less than a few seconds, the man's eyes turned listless, having died from the unexpected lethal strike.

"You're quite coldhearted." Leonard saw everything and commented lightly.

"Not as coldhearted and ruthless as you," Naomi smiled bitterly, her hand grasping around her abdomen. Till now, the pain was still aching, and she felt like it was being churned by some foreign substance.

How can a regular kick be so deadly?

She pursed her lips in an attempt to suppress the pain.

"How did you find out I'm not part of the captive?" She needed to know where or when she had slipped up.

"If I answer your question, would you answer mine?" Leonard asked.

"Even if I did, will you believe me?" Naomi rolled her eyes. She was referring to how he ruthlessly kicked her while pretending to believe her.

"I naturally have my ways to discern whether it was the truth, half-truth, or lies." He chuckled.

'Hmph, this gold ranked merchant is indeed not simple.' Naomi thought she had him fooled, but it was she who got played.

A few seconds later, Naomi agreed to the question exchange deal.

Some might find it weird, but the city of Velastra was literally known as a trade hub. Exchange deals like these were extremely common.

"Alright, please clear my doubt." Naomi requested.

"You committed three big mistakes." Leonard flashed his three fingers.

"First, you mentioned the Wrathbane Extract when I haven't spoken of it once."

Naomi's expression turned sour. So that was where she had a slip of the tongue.

"But there's a journal record, and the experimenter could have said something about injecting such a substance." She argued.

"That's where the second mistake comes in. How could a level 1 woman be focused on what the situation was when they were practically starving?" Leonard sneered and reminded her of the lack of reaction toward the beef jerky.

When he offered the beef jerky to Irene, the latter looked at him as if he were a god.

Yet when it comes to Naomi, it seemed weird, and even bewildering to her.

Naomi's complexion turned ugly. Since she didn't actually suffer what the level 1 women went through, it was true that she couldn't invoke what they would feel or react in that kind of situation.

"What about the last mistake?" She then questioned, feeling there was nothing else.

Alas, Leonard snickered and pointed at her wrist. "You consumed the potion and managed to heal the wound instantaneously."
