Chapter 9: Chapter 9
The town, known as Kurazura, had been relatively peaceful since Naruto's arrival. He had been healing the sick and mending the broken, his heart heavy with the pain of the people, but also filled with hope for the future he was working to build. As Naruto continued his work, his attention was suddenly drawn by a commotion in the distance. People ran in fear, their faces pale, as a heavy, suffocating presence filled the air.
Turning to the source, Naruto's eyes narrowed as he saw the figure approaching. The man stood tall and imposing, with long red hair flowing wildly behind him. His muscular frame exuded an aura of bloodlust, and his mere presence caused the atmosphere to grow heavy. People fled in terror at his approach, scrambling to get out of his way as though their very lives depended on it. Naruto, sensing the danger, instinctively tightened his grip on his chakra.
"Who is this person?" Naruto asked, his voice calm, though his senses were on high alert.
The assigned Shinobi, who had been trying to keep order, answered with a tremor in his voice. "Sir, he is a wanted criminal. His name is Akuma, also known as the Demonic Fist." Fear was evident in the Shinobi's eyes as he glanced toward the approaching man. "He's a ruthless fighter and has taken down countless opponents in battle. His presence here is a threat to the entire town, and if he isn't stopped, it could mean disaster for everyone."
"Sir, please kill him or he will continue being a threat to our world," another Shinobi added, his voice strained with worry.
Naruto's gaze remained fixed on Akuma as the man came closer, his bloodlust radiating outward like an invisible force. Despite the warnings and the danger, Naruto remained resolute. "No need to be alarmed. He will stop being a menace from now on." Naruto's tone was unwavering, his words a promise to the people. He had no intentions of killing Akuma, but he wasn't going to let someone as dangerous roam free either.
Walking forward, Naruto met Akuma in the middle of the street. The man's eyes locked onto him, sizing him up, as a broad, mocking smile stretched across his face. With no further warning, Akuma launched an attack, his fist barreling toward Naruto with terrifying speed and power.
Naruto easily blocked the blow with a single hand, unphased by the strength behind the strike. "Stop acting aggressive or I'll have to break some bones," he said casually, his voice a sharp contrast to the violent energy surrounding them.
Akuma, unfazed by Naruto's calmness, only laughed. "If I were afraid of such weak things, I wouldn't have walked this bloody path, young man." He followed his fist with a swift kick to Naruto's abdomen, but the younger warrior blocked it just as effortlessly. Akuma then unleashed a chakra blast from his mouth, a powerful shockwave aimed directly at Naruto. But once again, Naruto raised his golden chakra cloak, and the blast harmlessly dissipated upon contact.
"Uzumaki Naruto, fight me seriously!" Akuma growled, anger flashing in his eyes. "My life's purpose has always been combat. I don't care if I die to your hands, but stop this disgraceful act and face me as an opponent!"
Naruto stood firm, unshaken by the challenges. "I don't remember seeing you on the battlefield during the Fourth Shinobi War. Did you become a coward after that?" Naruto's voice was pointed, and there was a sharpness to his words that cut through the air.
Akuma's face twisted with rage. "Your anger doesn't even compare to mine, Uzumaki. I live for combat, for the thrill of the fight! I've always wished to fight Madara Uchiha and Hashirama Senju, but fate was fickle. I tried to block an attack of unimaginable power, and it nearly ended my life. I should have died then, but here I am—mortal, but still alive, still craving that ultimate battle. And now, I stand before you, someone who has surpassed even those ancient legends. Show me the power of a true warrior!"
With a sudden, sharp motion, Akuma removed his Gi, revealing a massive scar across his torso. His right side, almost destroyed, looked like it had barely survived an unimaginable attack. The injuries were deep, and it was clear that Akuma was not only dying from the physical wounds but also from the chakra illness that had been ravaging his body.
Naruto's eyes flickered with understanding. He had heard of Akuma's name—his reputation as a ruthless and nearly invincible fighter who had fought against some of the most powerful shinobi in history. But seeing the man before him, Naruto could see that Akuma was not seeking to win. He had already lost, and all he wanted now was a final battle.
"I apologize, but you're not strong enough to fight me," Naruto said, his voice gentle but firm. "I will heal you and send you to the Blood Prison for your crimes." There was no malice in his words, only a sense of duty. He had made a promise to protect, to guide, and to help. Even someone like Akuma, despite his bloodlust, deserved a chance to live without continuing down a path of destruction.
Akuma gritted his teeth in frustration. "I don't care about your mercy, Uzumaki. Show me your power!" His chakra flared, turning a dark red and black as he prepared for one final stand. His body was weak, his life hanging by a thread, but the desire to fight—the thirst for battle—burned brighter than ever in his heart.
Naruto felt a strange weight in his chest as he watched Akuma's transformation. Despite everything he had been through, Akuma's hunger for combat reminded Naruto of his own earlier days. It made Naruto feel weird as he had always been on the weaker side during a battle, but now he was looking from above. There was no contest of strength at all as he could just blow everything away with a casual move.
Naruto, ever focused on his mission, measured the man's life force and chakra capacity, his mind working quickly. Akuma's ferocity was evident, but Naruto could see the man's desperation—he was fighting not for victory, but for the thrill of battle itself.
Naruto created a Rasengan, the ball of swirling chakra forming in his palm, and then, using a chakra arm that erupted from the ground beneath him, he struck Akuma with a force that was as controlled as it was devastating. Akuma didn't even have time to react as the Rasengan slammed into him. His body was thrown into the air, spiraling upwards into the atmosphere like a rocket, the swirling chakra engulfing him in an explosion that lit up the night sky like a massive firework.
The villagers below stared in awe and terror, watching as the man who had once been a threat was now nothing more than a fading speck in the heavens, swallowed by the blinding light of the explosion. Naruto hovered in the air, his eyes focused intently on the fading silhouette of Akuma, before he flew up and grabbed the barely conscious man, pulling him back down.
Akuma's body was a twisted wreck, nearly torn apart by the force of the Rasengan, his bones cracked, his internal organs damaged. He was on the verge of death, but even so, there was no sign of fear in his eyes—only a strange sense of acceptance.
"Thank…you," Akuma rasped, his voice barely a whisper. There was no bitterness, no anger in his words. Instead, there was a quiet joy in his eyes, a contentment that baffled Naruto.
The once fearsome, bloodthirsty man who had lived for combat was now staring at Naruto with gratitude. His life had been one of endless battles, a path marked by violence and death. To experience such overwhelming power, even at the cost of his own life, was a final, bizarre form of fulfillment for Akuma. He had lived to fight, and now, in his defeat, he had found peace.
Naruto was struck by this. He had seen many warriors in his time, but never one so willing to accept their fate without regret. It made him reflect on his own path, his own battles, and the reasons he fought. He had fought to protect, to build, to save. And here, before him, was someone who had fought for no reason other than the fight itself.
"You are welcome," Naruto whispered, a deep, somber tone in his voice. He placed his hand on Akuma's chest, using his healing abilities to mend the damage caused by the explosion. The process was slow and painful, but Naruto focused, his chakra flowing into the man's broken body, repairing it inch by inch.
Despite Akuma's will to fight and his unyielding desire for combat, Naruto had no intention of letting him die here. He healed the man's wounds completely, bringing him back from the brink of death. However, even in his restored state, Akuma was still a criminal, and Naruto had no illusions about the consequences of his actions.
With a soft sigh, Naruto used his chakra to bind Akuma's power and send him to the Blood Prison. The prison was a facility built to house the most dangerous criminals, where their chakra was sealed, and they were held for eternity. There was no rehabilitation, no second chances in the Blood Prison—only endless confinement. The world Naruto had built, however, was one that could offer second chances. He had to change the system, to create a place where people like Akuma could be re-educated, where their abilities could be used for the benefit of society.
Naruto knew that the Blood Prison wasn't the answer, but it was all that existed right now. He couldn't help but think of Shikamaru and others like him—brilliant strategists who could transform the system into something that could actually help those who had lost their way.
"Once again, I'll change the world," Naruto muttered under his breath, a sense of resolve growing within him.
With Akuma now gone to the Blood Prison, Naruto turned back to his work. The town needed him, and there was still much to be done. But in the back of his mind, a seed had been planted—a new goal, a new vision for the future. The healing of the world couldn't just be physical; it had to be mental, too. And Naruto would fight, not just to protect the people, but to give them the tools they needed to truly change.
As the sun rose over Kurazura, Naruto continued his mission, his heart heavy but full of determination. Every person he healed, every village he saved, brought him one step closer to that goal—a world where even those like Akuma could find redemption.
