Elven Legacy

Chapter 356: Chapter 356: Spire Of Generational Might

Entering our respective booth, there were two smaller thrones for us to sit down upon, but there was no need for two since Elaine's throne was on my lap; sitting down, I wrapped my arms around her supple waist and pulled her deeper into my embrace while we gazed at the elder who had just finished speaking.

"Thank you, your Highness; now I have no idea what this trial is about. I appreciate your efforts." Said Sarah sarcastically as she glazed at Elaine with a faint smile, causing her to stare blankly at her.

"Oh please, Sarah; you're making a big deal out of nothing. The trial is incredibly straightforward; simply survive for as long as possible while making your way to the pinnacle of the spire." Replied Elaine blandly as she gazed at Sarah, who rolled her eyes huff before folding her arms and shifting her focus to the spire.

Just as Elaine had said, the concept of today's trial was as straightforward as possible; of course, there are probably some details we're missing, but such things can be omitted. Although we were late and missed the Elder's description of the trial, we arrived at the perfect time for it to actually begin as flocks of disciples exited the stands and flew towards the base of the spire while anticipation and excitement plagued their eyes.

Once roughly a thousand or so disciples arrived underneath the spire, it shot out a beam of light that engulfed the disciples, and a moment later, they all suddenly disappeared, having been whisked into the spire. Since none of us actually knew what to do, we merely copied what everyone else was doing and sent our divine sense into the spire, allowing us to see nearly a thousand rooms where each disciple stood in the middle by themselves; however, it didn't stay that way for long, since a few moments later, the silhouette of a young man appeared standing opposite of the many disciples.

"Hmm, an avatar? Or is it a projection?" Muttered Elif lightly with a raised eyebrow as he gazed at the young man who suddenly attacked the many disciples in their separate rooms.

"It's a projection, your Highness; they do not contain an ego." Stated Maxim as he glanced at Elif, who grunted at his words before reluctantly nodding, causing Elaine to chuckle softly in amusement.

Having been corrected by that annoying Maxim, it wasn't hard to notice now that I knew, though I probably would've figured that out if I had just quietly watched the numerous battles for some time. Over time, victories were easily acquired by the many disciples, and although it was a little hard to perceive since hardly anyone sustained any injuries after the respective disciple defeated the projection of the young man, all of their injuries were promptly healed while their Qi reserved were swiftly refilled in record time.

Once the victorious disciples were back in peak condition, another projection appeared, though this time, it was of a young centaur woman; she was slightly stronger than the previous young man, with her cultivation base being only a minor realm higher.

"I'm taking a wild guess, but are those projections they're fighting… Are they past disciples of the Realm Sect?" Asked Marley with a raised eyebrow as she glanced at everyone for confirmation, prompting them to all nod.

"Yes, you're correct, Marley." Replied Illumia with a nod as she glanced at Marley, who smirked before giving Idonea a haughty look, causing her to click her tongue in annoyance.

"Huh, I was wondering the same. Wait, does that mean we may come across Mother or Father?" Muttered Elaine lightly, only for her to suddenly raise her eyebrows while Elif also widened his eyes.

"I do not know about His Majesty, but I'm rather certain you'll come across Her Majesty; she was arguably the strongest disciple in the Realm Sect during her generation, with only the current Patriarch of the Dragon Clan capable of matching her." Stated Illumia softly with a nod as she glanced at Elaine and Elif, who both faintly smirked.

"Ho, now that will be very interesting; I'd love to experience the might of Mother during her young days." Said Elif with a faint smirk as he rubbed his chin while staring at the spire.

"Also, don't fret, Illumia; if I happen to stumble across your projection, I'll make sure you look stronger than you actually are. As for you, Maxim, hmph, you're lucky you didn't attend the Realm Sect." Added Elif with a mischievous smirk as he glanced at Illumia, who softly nodded with an amused expression, only for him to scoff while looking at Maxim in annoyance.

"Oh, don't be like that, Brother; when will you get over it? I'm seventeen now; it's been roughly thirteen years since then." Asked Elaine with an exasperated expression as she turned and looked at Elif, who merely huffed.

"Hmph, until I feel like it, Elaine; besides, that bastard shouldn't have been so heavy-handed on you; you were merely four. What sick bastard beats a four-year-old to such an extent? If it were up to me, I would've sentenced him to eternal imprisonment in the Royal Dungeon." Remarked Elif sternly as he eyed Elaine, who sighed and shook her head while Illumia awkwardly coughed, hoping no attention was brought to her.

"Behave, Brother." Muttered Elaine softly as she trailed her finger across Elif's chest while gently kissing him, greatly arousing him.

'There it is again; how is she doing that?' Thought Elif lightly as he looked at Elaine while his erection aggressively poked against her plump butt, causing her to faintly smile.

"Oh yes, Ember, go and inform Mandy that they can come watch if they'd like." Said Elif lightly as he glanced at Ember, who nodded before exiting the booth and flying to the royal carriage.

Thanks to Elaine seducing me, I now had a painful erection that rested right in between her cheeks, and the smirk she gave me was a little annoying, to be honest, cause I could tell she was enjoying teasing me.

'Hmph, just await our return home.' Mused Elif with furrowed brows as he stared at Elaine, who ever so slightly ground her butt against his manhood, further teasing him.

I was having a somewhat difficult time paying attention to what was happening in the spire, thanks to Elaine, but it's not like it mattered much to begin with; now that I've fully understood what was happening, it was merely the waiting game. Whenever someone lost to the projection, they would be expelled out of the spire and onto the ground; unluckily for them, they weren't healed of their injuries, though when one lost, it allowed for another disciple to enter in their stead.

The day continued like this, and although it went rather slowly since only a thousand people could be within the spire at a time, as cultivators, one of the last things we lacked was time. By the time three days had passed, roughly half of the disciples had already experienced the Spire, with the highest room they'd achieved being eight, which wasn't impressive in my opinion, but we'd yet to see any of the disciples from three major hegemonies.

"Speaking of that, there goes, Echo." Muttered Elif lightly as he leaned on his armrest and gazed at Echo, who entered the spire with a faint smile.

Once Echo was inside, the projection of the young human male promptly appeared, yet with a simple punch, she blew a hole right through his chest, killing him in an instant; when the young female centaur appeared, she gave it a more respectful death, probably because Sheila was a centaur herself.

However, after that, the next few enemies she faced required a little more effort on her part, with each succeeding room taking slightly longer than the last; however, after a few hours, she was the first person to defeat the eighth room, having slain the young Drake warrior by punching him to death.

The ninth room happened to be that of a Wyvern, which was unexpected, but after a challenging battle, she also defeated it; yet, in the tenth room, she finally met her match as she was forced to fight again Patriarch Aasveig.

"An unlucky match-up, though; how can she still be so susceptible to illusions when she is friends with Eyvor?" Remarked Elif softly as he glanced at Echo lying on the floor with extensive injuries, prompting Mada to carry her to safety while he returned to enter the spire.

Following Echo, the descendants of Ancient and Divine Hegemonies began to finally enter the spire, and although it took several tries, someone did manage to defeat Patriarch Aasveig, with Eyvor being one of them, displaying her superior illusion compared to her father.

After another full day of waiting, the highest room had been increased from the tenth to the fifteenth, and with a proud smirk, I watched as a projection of Mother defeated all who dared to challenge her.

"Heh, I'd expect no less from Mother." Said Elif lightly while Elaine and Illumia proudly nodded.

"Maxim, are you recording this? I'm sure Mother would love seeing her younger self defeat so many cultivators." Asked Elaine as she turned and looked at Maxim, who nodded while holding a crystal ball.

Mother served as a blockade, preventing anyone from reaching higher; matter of fact, none have even gotten close as of yet, though that prompted the descendants from Immortal Hegeomnies to try their luck; of course, just unimportant descendants, not the future heirs, the ones that truly mattered.
