Chapter 66: Fuck! I am on period! (2) [Bonus]
Arthur looked down toward his crotch subtly to see if there was a mark or not, but seeing nothing and not feeling any kind of wetness either, he felt relieved.
'I did feel a bit on edge today.'
He remembered pulling that joke on Zyra and Liora. Usually, he wouldn't have done that. After thinking about it a bit, he did feel a bit cramped too. The pain wasn't anything significant to him.
'I really need to learn more about this world, and even before that, how does gender biology affect this world?'
He could see she was waiting for his reply, so he quickly told her he would be fine on his own. While he didn't want to lose time he could use for himself to learn and train to become strong, this wasn't the way he wanted it to happen.
Arthur walked on his own toward his room, but he remembered what Fira had said to him, so he decided to go see her instead.
'Argh, I forgot to ask where I would find her.'
He decided to go to the dining hall, where he would usually meet her, to see if she was there or not, but he didn't think there was much chance of finding her there after it had already been more than an hour and a half since he left.
While walking, he moved normally. He was feeling quite a bit of pain and cramping, but this discomfort wasn't something that would hinder his ability to walk.
The elf who had seen him walk normally, still trying to keep up a strong front, was now even more resolved to spread what she had witnessed during these few days, hoping to bring to light what he was hiding.
Arthur, unaware of her thoughts, began to reach the dining hall. During the short journey, Arthur had a terrifying thought in his mind, which he didn't want to accept. He quickly denied that thought and chose not to think about it.
But he really hoped that what he had thought wouldn't be the reality. Otherwise, his world would shatter.
He reached inside the dining hall. Seeing the empty hall with no one sitting on any of the chairs, he believed she really wouldn't be there.
Call it his intuition, but he decided not to give up before checking the kitchen himself. He couldn't see if the kitchen was empty or not from where he stood.
'I have a feeling that she should be in there, but if I'm wrong, I really need to ask some other elves about her—if they know where she is. She could be in her room, which I don't know the location of, or anywhere else.'
He knew finding her could become a lengthy task if she really wasn't in there.
Arthur knew where the kitchen was, but he had never been inside it before.
'She should be in there.'
Entering the kitchen, Arthur witnessed a sight that mesmerized him.
'Beautiful.'
Inside the kitchen, he could see Fira, who seemed too engrossed in her cooking to notice him entering. Her appearance—the same average appearance she had adopted to hide her identity—still didn't make the sight any less captivating.
He could see the ingredients floating around her. It seemed like milk, sugar... Noticing the ingredients, he guessed she might be making pudding.
Time seemed to flow quickly without him realizing it. He witnessed everything from start to finish. He didn't even watch her pick up a spoon to measure the precise amount of ingredients being used. The entire pudding was prepared using her fire magic and her control of mana. The control she had over her flames seemed incomprehensible to the current him.
He also noticed the fire she used seemed different from the one he had created—the obvious difference being its color.
She even plated the food using her magic.
'Can I even call this the cooking I know?'
But suddenly, he saw her lips part as he heard her speak. Her eyes were still focused on the pudding she was creating.
"Still not good enough!"
Arthur couldn't understand how she could call such a perfect dish not good enough, but he knew with her talent like Divine Chef, her standards must be on a completely different level when it came to cooking.
"Hey you, how long are you going to watch me from behind? Do you think I didn't know you were there from the start?"
Fira had noticed someone entering the kitchen from the beginning of her cooking, but she didn't bother to acknowledge it, as she was too focused on the dish she was preparing.
'Looks like I was wrong,' Arthur thought.
He assumed her lack of reaction meant she didn't know he had entered the kitchen, but it seemed she just didn't care enough to check who it might be.
Arthur revealed himself upon hearing her. He was about to speak up, but she called him out before that.
"Ah! It's me, Arthur."
Fira suddenly heard Arthur's voice, which made her turn and look. She could see him standing at the entrance of the kitchen.
'Was he so excited to get those books that he even took a break?'
She could understand, as usually newcomers did get very excited when it came to learning magic for the first time, and she remembered being very enthusiastic when her mother started teaching her.
'Urgh, but Mother does become quite terrifying when it comes to teaching me.'
'Should I tease him a bit to see how he would react when I ask why he's here so early?'
She imagined him getting all flustered in front of her. It had been too many times she had been embarrassed in front of him. If her mother knew that, she would be a laughingstock.
'I should settle some scores.'
She stored the pudding in her spatial ring before walking up to him, as she liked to see his reactions up close when he got flustered. She was a bit excited—she was going to tease him.
