Chapter 47: First Clone
Arthur doesn't know how influential she is in the outside world, but he sure knows that he has made a good connection, which could be useful to him when traveling the outside world.
But he chose not to think about that much more right now and focused on the thing that was in front of him.
He looked at the luxurious book with a wide smile on his face.
'Everything is now prepared.'
He also appreciated his choice of selecting Fira as his target for the first clone. While he couldn't feel the pressure he had felt from Ivy, she was a bit mysterious. Who knows, she might be more powerful than he had thought.
Arthur held the box tightly with both hands and departed for his room. He reached his room, closed the door, and now sits on the floor in the middle of his room, where there's quite an empty space.
He opened the box and took out a few strands of her crimson hair and kept the rest inside the box. She had given him quite a lot of hair; he couldn't tell after looking if a few strands were missing or not.
I don't know how many clones I could make of a single person, but I should be careful not to waste my precious material.
He put the crimson hair down on the floor and then stared at it for a few minutes.
"..."
'What should I do now?'
'I have collected the gene of the person whom I wanted to make, but what now?'
He decided to open the status screen once again. He had gotten a message previously; what if he would get a hint of how to use his Authority to make the clone of Fira?
The floating red transparent screen appeared in front of his amethyst eyes.

He waited for a whole five minutes, but no message appeared in front of him. Out of frustration, he said out loud.
"Hey, I know you are listening; at least give me a hint."
"..."
No response came to him even after another five minutes, and now Arthur had given up on getting help from the treasure and decided to think about using the Authority himself.
He believed everything he had done up till now was correct, as it seemed too obvious to him.
He held the strand of crimson hair in his hand and said with a serious expression on his face.
"The Authority of Transcendent Genesis"
After saying those words, he waited and waited, but nothing happened.
He felt quite embarrassed, but he didn't give up.
"Clone Creation"
"Clone"
"Fira Arise"
"Arise"
"Shadow clone jutsu"
He even tried making some hand signs while saying 'shadow clone jutsu.'
Arthur sits on the ground with his shoulders slumped. He remembers everything he had done for the last 30 minutes and feels deeply embarrassed. If someone else had witnessed this performance, he would have died mentally.
'What the hell am I supposed to do now? I had done everything I could think of, but nothing seemed to work.'
'Why is this Authority so troublesome to use?'
'It would have been good if I just believed a clone was being created and it would be done.'
'Simple and easy'
Arthur, thinking these thoughts through, had subconsciously done just that and believed that a clone would be created out of the crimson strand of hair.
Arthur sensed a danger like he had never felt before. The crimson hairs were still in his hand.
But out of nowhere, Arthur felt a pain he had never felt before. A deep, heart-wrenching scream was released from his mouth as his body writhed on the ground due to the pain.
"ARRRGGHHHH!!!!"
'WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING!'
This is the only thought he was able to form in his mind. Compared to the time when he was being tortured by Ivy, this seems hundreds or thousands of times worse. He can't even make a comparison out of them because of how different it is.
Deep inside his body, his soul—which had strengthened after becoming the owner of the Ethelarion Replisis, the same powerful soul, much stronger than even most cultivators below sage rank—a small piece of that same soul is now being detached from the rest of his soul.
In simpler words, his soul is being torn apart.
Arthur couldn't even think through the overwhelming pain, so he could only scream on the wood as his body convulsed.
Tears stream down his attractive face, telling his silent wish to make the pain stop. His long silver hair is a mess. His body can't even stop moving for a second on the ground.
He bites his lip and clutches his hands—nothing can override the pain he's feeling due to his soul. He only wants a step of relief from the painful nightmare, but it seems it has no intention of stopping.
"ARRRGGHHH!!!"
His mind had stopped working only after the first minute, as only screams were his indication that he was human. After 15 minutes of agonizing pain, a part of his soul got split up as the pain stopped and gave him a moment of peace.
He had kept himself awake during the whole painful process because he felt if he gave up, it would be over for him. By pure willpower, he accomplished this feat. However, the moment peace came, he let go of everything as he lost consciousness after enduring hell for so long.
A bright white ethereal light came out of Arthur's chest while he was in slumber and entered the strands of crimson hair that were in his hand.
It converted into a shining, ethereal red light as it started to float, and then the mana in the vicinity started to accumulate in the room and started revolving around the red, ethereal light.
