Chapter 42: Collecting Genes [Bonus]
Arthur had a subtlety etched into his face, which didn't seem to go away, and the reason behind it was that he was now very close to getting the authority he had gained after becoming the owner of Ethelerarion Replisis.
While on the way to the Fira, his feet danced on the grass, his body felt lighter than ever before, and the path was in front of him now; he just had to follow it.
'Fira, my dear Fira, I am coming for you.'
He reached inside the dining hall, and he glanced at the gigantic clock. There are still 45 minutes before dinner starts. The preparations are being made by the elves; however, he can't seem to find Fira anywhere among the elves.
'She had mentioned something about her master; what if she had an emergency?'
It could be a slim possibility, so he just walked up to a random female elf and asked if she knew where Fira was. She looked a little flustered, but she still answered him.
'Hmm, she is in the kitchen cooking.'
He thanked her and then left to take his seat, where Fira would be near. He sees the food, already cooked, being slowly arranged, meaning she must be cooking for him.
Arthur's heart warmed up knowing she was working extra hard for him, especially because the special dish she would prepare would have a magical effect.
'She is such a sweetheart.'
He asked her even if she hadn't accepted, it wouldn't have been a problem due to how selfish his request was; however, even when she didn't directly say it outright, knowing she was spending extra time in the kitchen just for him, he felt quite warm inside.
He decided to wait for her in his seat; however, what he didn't know himself, due to not feeling any pain, was that his body still needed rest. While waiting for her, he dozed off and fell into a peaceful slumber, resting his head on the table in his curled-up hands.

Arthur lazily opened his eyes as he rubbed them and finally stretched his arms.
He can see he is inside the dining hall, and slowly he remembers why he had come here.
'Oh, fuck!!'
He glanced at the clock once again, only to see that it was about to be 10 PM now.
"Fira," Arthur muttered, Fira's name out of desperation.
'Arghh! I am such an idiot. I slept for so long; Fira must be gone by now.'
Fira was sitting on the seat right beside Arthur. When she came here, she found him sleeping in his seat. Rather than disturbing him, she chose to let him be; she felt something knowing he must have been waiting for her all this time and must have fallen asleep waiting for her.
She had already guessed he had a crush on her; considering her current appearance, she only appeared average to her, but she remembered her mother had said true love had no boundaries. He is definitely out of her league considering her current appearance; still, even when so many elves are openly showing interest in him, he fell in love with her.
She found this beautiful, but it made her feel sad that it wouldn't last long.
She can't imagine being with him; she found him pretty to look at, but she had no feelings for him.
Seeing him wake up, she is excited to make him try her improved dish; however, the first thing she heard after he came out of his sleep made her freeze up in her chair.
Her heart stung a little bit, knowing she had to crush such an innocent love.
'Fira—her fake name, the name he is aware of or found out himself—the first thing he called out was my name after waking up.'
'Does he love that much?'
'No! I shouldn't think about this. The more I think of it, the more it will hurt me later on when I have to crush his innocent heart.'
She didn't show any reaction on her face, erased all of them, and now she is going to call him, as she had to see his reaction to the new dish she had made, nothing more.
"You are finally awake, Arthur. I have been waiting for you."
Arthur suddenly heard a voice, a voice that he remembered clearly. It was Fira's voice, the person whom he had waited for all this long.
'Thank God she is here; it seems she had been waiting for me.'
He turned to his side, moving the chair along with him to look at her. Seeing her sitting right next to him, he couldn't be any more excited.
'She really is such a sweetheart; I have to thank her for waiting for me.'
He was about to thank her; however, suddenly a deep red blush appeared on Fira's face as she hastily stepped up from her seat. She had a look of shock on her face; she suddenly tried to cover her eyes with her hand, but she still peeked through the gap between her fingers, which she made.
Arthur didn't understand what was happening, so he asked her.
"What happened, Fi—"
Before he could fully complete his words, suddenly a blue magic circle appeared in front of her, and a sphere of water appeared around both of them.
'What the hell is happening now? Is someone attacking us?'
The only reason he could think of Fira trying to protect both of them by forming a sphere made out of water is because someone is attacking them.
'Ivy!'
There is only one name that comes to his mind in this moment; he is quite scared because he is not strong enough to even escape from her.
He naturally tried to move closer to Fira, who seemed to be trying to protect him, as it would be easier for her if he stayed as close as possible to her.
'That bitch, I am surely going to torture her in the future.'
Just as he hadn't even taken a single step closer to Fira, he heard her anxious voice.
