Ellie, the part Demon, part God, part human

Chapter 4: CHAPTER FOUR

Three months passed, and Justin and I grew closer. We officially started dating.

One morning, I was in Angel's room, laughing and talking with her, when suddenly, my eyes flashed blue for three seconds before returning to normal.

"What was that?" Angel asked, her voice laced with concern.

"I... I don't know," I whispered, still processing what had just happened.

"You should accept Aphrodite and Gena as your mother and sister," she said firmly.

I sighed. "I thought we've been through this already," I muttered, just as my phone beeped.

Glancing at the screen, my heart nearly stopped.

"Oh my God," I gasped.

"What? What is it?" Angel asked, her expression shifting to panic.

"It's Justin," I stammered. "He... he had an accident."

Angel's face turned pale. "Oh no," she breathed.

We didn't waste another second. We got dressed quickly, rushed downstairs, and headed straight for the hospital.

AT THE HOSPITAL

"Hey," I whispered as I entered Justin's hospital room.

He was lying there, badly injured, looking so fragile. My chest tightened at the sight of him, and before I knew it, tears streamed down my face.

The doctor approached us, his expression grim. "We've done all we can. His condition is critical—he has a hole in his heart. Only a miracle can save him."

Then he walked out, leaving me shattered.

Angel turned to me. "I pray to you, Ge—"

"No!" I cut her off sharply.

"But Ellie—"

"I don't want her help!" I snapped, my voice laced with pain.

"But she could save him!" Angel protested.

"I don't need her," I said, my voice dropping to my usual soft tone.

I turned back to Justin, inhaled deeply, and placed my hands over his chest. My hair turned completely white as my powers activated. A warm, golden glow surrounded my hands as I focused on healing him.

Angel quickly shut the doors and windows, making sure no one saw me using my abilities.

As the power drained from me into Justin, I felt myself growing weaker.

"Justin," I whispered as his eyes fluttered open.

Then everything went black.

BACK HOME

"We have to get her out of here," Angel said, struggling to lift me up.

Justin sat up, still in shock. "What? She needs medical attention!"

"If they take her blood, we're in serious trouble," Angel warned.

"Why?" Justin demanded, still confused.

"You're her boyfriend, aren't you? You should know by now that Ellie isn't human."

Justin's face paled as he stared at Angel.

Angel took a deep breath. "I pray to you, Gena... I need your help."

A strong gust of wind swept through the room, and in the blink of an eye, both Angel and I disappeared—leaving Justin alone in the hospital.

LATER—ELLIE'S ROOM

Justin found his way to my house and stormed into my room.

"I want answers," he said, his voice firm.

Angel, who had been sitting beside me, looked up. "You want the truth?"

Suddenly, the room turned icy cold. A luminous glow filled the space, and Aphrodite, my true mother, appeared.

"Oh, Aphrodite! Ellie is in trouble," Angel said urgently.

Aphrodite's voice was calm and smooth. "For as long as she refuses to accept who she really is, she will always be in trouble. And when she's in trouble, the whole world will be in trouble with her."

Justin looked around, utterly lost. "Can someone explain what the hell is going on?"

Aphrodite's gaze softened. "Ellie is my daughter," she began. "I was pregnant with her and Gena. But there was a problem... their father was a demon. The gods considered them a curse—especially Ellie, who carried both godly and demonic blood.

"The other gods ordered me to cast them away, but I couldn't. Later, they discovered that Gena had no demon blood—she was a full god, pure and powerful. But Ellie… she was seen as a threat. They feared that one day, the demon in her would awaken. They commanded me to kill her."

She paused, her voice trembling slightly. "But I couldn't. Instead, I sent her to Earth to live as a human, where she would be safe. But now… she doesn't even acknowledge me as her mother."

I sat up, my eyes dark with emotion. "Because you're not my mother."

Aphrodite sighed. "I've been trying to reach you, Ellie. The visions, the whispers—you've seen them, haven't you?"

I clenched my fists. "I'm not a god. Do you hear me? I'm human!"

"You have human blood, demon blood, and godly blood coursing through your veins," Gena said, appearing beside Aphrodite.

"Being human makes you weak. But being a god makes you strong," Aphrodite added gently.

I shook my head. "That's not true. Being human doesn't make us weak. It makes us stronger. We have something gods don't—hope. Even in the darkest moments, we still believe.

"When a human dies, their soul goes somewhere—to rest. But when a god dies, it's not death—it's absence. It's oblivion."

Aphrodite and Gena exchanged glances.

Gena sighed. "One day, you'll come around, sister. And when you do, your friend knows how to reach me."

Then, in a flash of blinding light, they disappeared. A gust of wind blew through the room before fading into silence.

Justin turned to me. "Is it true?"

I looked away.

Angel crossed her arms. "It is. And if you don't want to be with her anymore, say so and leave."

Justin hesitated, then whispered, "I'm sorry, Ella."

Then he walked out of the room… out of the house.

Angel scoffed, watching him through the window. "I knew it. What a coward."

I swallowed the lump in my throat.

"Thank goodness you're okay," Angel said, pulling me into a hug.

"Yeah," I whispered, still in shock.
