Elf Kingdom: Game of the World Tree

Chapter 542: Successive Divine Descents (Part 2)

"Wasn't it rare not to have Holy Light? Could it be because it wasn't completely exposed?"

"But don't you think that trying to cover it up makes it more exciting?"

"Heh heh... Seems like it, but I'm not into humanoid beasts, no feelings."

"I don't like it either... This design looks a bit ugly to me."

Luria:...

Alisa:...

The elves' increasingly reckless discussions finally touched the nerves of the two Evil Gods.

Luria was fine, merely frowning slightly.

But Alisa's expression turned grim.

She let out a soft snort, and dark purple Divine Power surged around her, instantly creating a faint purple-black mist on the battlefield!

This mist seemed to have a corrosive force, and once it touched them, the players were startled to find purple spots appearing on their bodies, along with a vague sensation of pain in their limbs.

*This pain made them instinctively believe they had forgotten to turn off the pain sensation!*

Not only that, but some players with weaker wills even felt an inexplicable irritation creeping into their hearts, and their expressions gradually became gloomy.

Many people looked dispirited, conversations dwindled, and a trend toward realism and discouragement began to emerge...

Pain Corrosion.

This was one of Pain Queen Alisa's abilities, capable of plunging those invaded by her power into immense physical and mental pain...

*This pain was worse than death and could instantly twist a person's mind.*

The corroded ones would choose to end themselves in pain and sacrifice their souls to Alisa's true form...

However, after releasing Pain Corrosion, Alisa was surprised to find that the elves' reactions were too indifferent...

They didn't seem to feel much pain, even those thoroughly corroded merely uttered discouraging words.

Only then did Alisa finally notice that these elves seemed to have no souls!

*Her power could only act on the opponent's will, not their soul, greatly reducing its effectiveness.*

This discovery finally sparked a bit of interest in Alisa towards the elves.

She used Divine Power to summon a large purple-black energy hand, reaching towards the elves.

But just as she unleashed her power, a golden light suddenly shot up from the elves' side!

The brilliant Holy Light dispelled the battlefield's Pain Corrosion, and countless green photons, like fireflies, flew in the sky. The corroded parts on the elves' bodies quickly faded, returning to their original state...

Simultaneously, under the elated gazes of the elves and the shocked eyes of the Half-Beasts, the barren sandy ground, like fields receiving rain after a long drought, began to show signs of greenery.

In an instant, the battlefield was covered with lush green grass, with flowers gradually blooming!

This was the divine spell of the life and nature domain.

Praise of Life.

Accompanied by ethereal hymns and spreading vines and flowers, a sacred figure was outlined in mid-air.

Silver hair, purple pupils, pointy ears.

Coupled with a skirt armor adorned with floral patterns, a magnificent Divine Crown, and a Holy Scepter entwined with vines and flowers...

Eve descended.

The negative debuffs on the players vanished, and they were revitalized.

They looked towards the sky at the beautiful, sacred, familiar figure and became excited:

"Goddess! It's the Goddess!"

"Haha! I finally see the Goddess!"

"Praise the Goddess! Praise nature! Praise life!"

"My wife is still the best!"

"Goddess forever!"

The voices of praise, cheers, excited whistles, and even giddy shouts intertwined.

This chaos nevertheless highlighted the Goddess of Life's high status in the hearts of the elves.

Although some of the elves' words sounded peculiar or even blasphemous to other deities, their genuine recognition and admiration shocked Luria and Alisa.

They observed this once familiar True God, whose fame had spread across the continent since the Underworld war, narrowing their eyes slightly.

"Goddess of Life, we meet again," Luria said.

After sensing Eve's aura, even stronger than during the Underworld war, her expression turned serious.

"You have grown so swiftly. If given another year or so, I fear I will witness the birth of a middle-rank divine power again."

"However, I wonder what price you paid to ascend so quickly?" Luria said with a hint of amazement.

Her gaze lingered on Eve with a trace of curiosity.

When she noticed the scepter in Eve's hand, a barely detectable glimmer of greed flashed deep within her eyes.

The Life Scepter...

For anyone wanting to restore their power, it was an excellent auxiliary Divine Artifact!

Eve merely gave a faint smile upon hearing Luria's words.

She softly said, "Every cost is worth it."

Then, she looked in a particular direction in the void and said with a playful tone, "Lord Uller, I once battled your avatar, and I've memorized your aura. Do you think you can avoid my perception with such close spying?"

Luria and Alisa remained expressionless, but a cold snort quickly echoed from the void.

After the cold snort, silver brilliance continually gathered, eventually outlining a new figure in mid-air.

It was Uller, the God of Winter and Hunting, descended upon the Segis World!

Of course, with the Plane Channel closed, it remained an avatar.

Yet, compared to the avatar deceived into the Divine Domain and destroyed previously by Eve, this avatar's aura was more profound, its form more solid, nearly matching the True God's original form.

This was Uller's core avatar, the Divine Descent Avatar into which she had invested the most time and Divine Power since birth, its strength also being the greatest!

Seeing Uller appear, the players below became lively again.

"Whoa! The dumb brute god is here!"

"Is it the true form or an avatar?"

"So ugly, not as handsome as the statue."

"Haha... oh man, ever since I read that SM bondage comic of him and the Goddess, I've felt so out of place..."

Uller:...

Eve:...

Listening to the increasingly ridiculous discussions below, Eve swiftly silenced them, disabling all player language functions.

The world instantly quieted down.

Uller coldly snorted, assessed Eve, and sneered, "Should I call you Eve or Yggdrasil?"

"Either is fine. Since I've inherited the Natural God Position, I've naturally also taken on this great surname," Eve replied with a smile.

*Truth mixed with falsehood.*

Then, Eve's expression became solemn, her previously kind demeanor turning cold, with even the surrounding temperature seeming to drop a few degrees.

Simultaneously, terrifying waves of Divine Power began surging around her.

*Those waves were not something a Demigod Level Divine Descent Avatar could reach but were the law fluctuations and energy fluctuations only a True God's body could cause!*

*For a newly enthroned True God, this indicated that what had descended was her true form!*

"Two choices: surrender the Divine Country that belongs to the World Tree, or... face the destruction of your avatar and the Death Desert becoming history."

Uller didn't seem surprised by Eve's answer, merely sensing her aura closely and sneering, "It looks normal, but indeed, you've gone mad."

He snapped his fingers, and a pillar of golden light shot skyward from Sandstorm City, forming a huge energy cage, enveloping a range of over ten kilometers!

As the cage descended, the powers of the Demon Wolf Fenrir and Eve were simultaneously suppressed.

Fenrir's Demigod Peak strength fell to the Demigod Middle Stage, while Eve, though her power was not diminished, felt the laws of this land suppressed, seemingly unable to use the Divine Domain's power.

Of course, this avatar couldn't normally use the Divine Domain, despite being at the True God level.

Subsequently, Uller, along with Luria, Alisa, and his totem Guardians, encircled Eve and Fenrir.

"Since you dared to come in person today, be prepared to fall!" he sneered.

However, just as Uller finished speaking, an elegant voice suddenly sounded inappropriately:

"I have no intention of joining this fight, but... Lord Uller, your god must have reminded you that as a noble god, you shouldn't consort with Evil Gods, let alone... conspire against another noble god!"

The next second, a silver-haired man appeared on the battlefield.

The Platinum Dragon King, Reinhardt.
