Elemental chaos

Chapter 1: Intro

Axel, a brilliant mind with a restless spirit, had often pondered humanity's place in the vast cosmic expanse. Scientists warned of our significant carbon footprint, but was our species truly important in a universe so vast and mysterious? Were we mere historical footnotes or cosmic blips? These questions had haunted him for years.
Despite his intellectual pursuits and academic achievements, Axel found himself in a career rut. Poor choices and procrastination had derailed his promising future, leaving him unemployed and socially isolated. Yet, beneath his cynical exterior, a gentle soul yearned for connection and meaning. He missed the camaraderie of his fellow scientists, the thrill of intellectual debate, and the satisfaction of solving complex problems.
Once a budding physicist, Axel had abandoned his dream to pursue a more practical and economically viable career in civil service. However, the allure of the greener grass had proven to be an illusion. Years of failure had eroded his passion, leaving him numb and adrift. The once vibrant spark in his eyes had dimmed, replaced by a weary resignation. His days were spent in a monotonous routine, a prisoner of his own thoughts. He often found himself staring out of his window, lost in contemplation, a solitary figure against the backdrop of a bustling city.
He recalled the days spent in the lab, poring over complex equations and conducting experiments. The thrill of discovery, the satisfaction of solving a difficult problem, had once fueled his passion. But as his career began to falter, so too did his dreams.

His relationship with Pravi, a fellow physicist, had been a bright spot in his life. They had shared a deep intellectual connection, spending countless hours discussing the mysteries of the universe. However, their differing career aspirations and personal struggles had ultimately torn them apart. The pain of their breakup had left a lasting scar on his heart.
Lately, strange dreams had begun to haunt him. In these dreams, he was a minuscule particle hurtling through the vast expanse of the cosmos, a mere speck in the grand tapestry of existence. The dreamlike visions were both exhilarating and terrifying, offering a glimpse into a reality beyond his comprehension. He would often wake up drenched in sweat, his heart pounding with a mixture of fear and excitement.
On September 2nd, 2022, another such dream occurred, a harbinger of the extraordinary events that would soon unfold. As he drifted off to sleep, the last words he scribbled in his journal echoed in the quiet room: "The dreams are getting more intense. I fear I'm losing control of my reality. These visions, once fleeting and enigmatic, now consume my thoughts, blurring the lines between the dream world and the waking one. I must find a way to understand this phenomenon, to unravel its true nature. But as I delve deeper, I fear I may be awakening something within me, a darkness that has been dormant for far too long."
