Chapter 891: Valor trounced
Reima steps through the portal and is immediately presented with a huge gate that seemed to be made from gold interweaved with some sort of crystal... A huge glowing orb sat prominently in the middle of it, looking relatively fragile in contrast to the power it was giving off.
Slowly the others streamed in behind him an their reactions weren't all that surprising, a mixture of awe, fascination, and somehow, pride? He imagined it was because his own Empire had similar architecture, focussing on gold accents... Though, he had to admit that the sheer scale outmatched anything they had in Ichor... Something he was determined to see rectified when they got back. Maybe he should just steal the gate?
Solaire "OOOOooooohhh!!! PRAISE THE SUN!" he immediately roars at the top of his lungs, throwing his arms up in his trademark pose. Clearly, the sun was affecting his mind. This wouldn't bother Reima all that much, were it not the fact Selina and Quennie are both mimicking him on each of his sides.
Reima sends glances towards Ciri and Quelaag but spotted that both found the situation amusing, rather than worrying... It seems Solaire's constant antics had finally broken them. Shaking his head, he turned towards Tyrael who seemed to have frozen upon exiting the portal. "You alright?" he asks, not wanting something unexpected to happen.
Tyrael nods, "I am but... I am worried, my brother is approaching and he'd never been particularly kind to humanity in the past..."
Reima shrugs, "Don't worry, I'll deal with him in a way he'll understand." he says with a grin.
Heaven certainly wasn't the hospitable place he'd thought it might be, if anyone in the party lacked strength they'd find themselves on the floor, screaming in pain as the realm itself tried to cleanse them.
It didn't take long for the group to spot their first angel, a stream of light shot from the sky and formed into a huge person suited in gold armoured plates, some sort of crown floats above their helmeted head and huge wings made from orange-tinted light sprouts from his back.
He reveals his 8ft height when he stands up, raising his hand to the sky where something else falls from it, he grabs and twirls it, pointing the beautifully crafted spear towards the group. "HALT! YOU MARCH TOWARDS HEAVENS GATES? ARROGANCE!" he roars, clearly furious at them appearing here.
Tyrael steps forth, "Brother! I have returned." he states, walking in-front of the group with Reima following close behind.
Reima isn't able to glean anything from the angel as they are literally just suits of armour filled with liquid light. Though, if he had to guess he'd say that it was sneering at Tyrael.
"YOU ARE NO LONGER A BROTHER OF MINE TYRAEL! YOU WILL CALL ME IMPERIUS LIKE THE REST OF YOUR LESSER RACE!" they shout in a commanding manner.
Tyrael "So be it Imperius, but that still does not sway me from returning."
Imperius glowers at him, "Why would you wish to return Tyrael!? You chose to be with the humans! You CHOSE to leave the High Heavens!"
Tyrael "You say I chose, but you left me with no choice Imperius! Had I not left, Heaven would be in ruins now, with all our brothers and sisters dead."
Imperius points his spear menacingly at Tyrael, "YOU LIE!"
Tyrael "I cannot lie Imperius! You of all people should know that."
Imperius shifts his attention to the group, "Hmph, so you have returned, I am sure some will welcome it... But you've brought trash along with you." he says, causing a few members of the group to frown at him.
Tyrael "You will watch your mouth Imperius, most of these people are stronger than even yourself."
Imperius laughs, "Hahahaha! Pathetic! You've not only become mortal, but lost yourself in foolish delusions!" he points his spear at Reima, "Look at these beings Tyrael! I cannot sense even a speck of power from them, they are even lesser than the demons we fight!"
Reima shakes his head and brushes past Tyrael while cracking his knuckles, "Alright, I've endured your insults long enough you winged golden dildo. You say I lack strength right?" he loosens the tight seals placed on his power, causing Imperius to back away.
Imperius "What?! YOU! YOU'RE A DEMON! SO YOU HAVE COME TO INVADE HEAVEN!"
Reima shrugs, "I'm not a demon, you might just be feeling the Prime Evil that I devoured." he says noncomittally, still ready to beat this cocky Angel into submission should they try to hurt him or his people.
Tyrael "It's true Imperius! He destroyed Diablo who became the Prime Evil through a ritual!"
Imperius "Your weak human mind is possessed Tyrael! You're controlled by this, thing... I WILL STOP YOU FROM HARMING HEAVEN!" he shouts, dropping into a stance before disappearing into motes of light that charge towards Reima.
The angel reforms into a white version of himself that seem to cool and return to his original golden armour, stabbing his spear at Reima as Tyrael shouts for him to stop.
Imperius "DIE AT THE END OF SOLARION!"
*CLANK!*
...
Imperius looks down in confusion and spots Reima, casually standing there while using his index finger to stop Solarion, his finger is wreathed in some sort of black substance that refuses to allow his spears point to penetrate even the skin.
Reima "You done?" he asks, feeling slightly bad for completely humiliating this guy.
Apparently, Imperius was not done, reappearing behind Reima to cut at his neck. Reima just grabs the spear and wrenches it out of the Angel grip, slamming the bottom of it into their helmeted head and causing them to collapse to the floor.
Reima examines the spear as Imperius struggles to grab his leg in a vain attempt at somehow winning this confrontation.
