Chapter 85: Duel
Wilick followed Ellen down from the taxi and looked at the big sign of Twilight. The young man couldn't help but feel awkward. He wore the suit Ellen had bought for him, his long hair was trimmed, and Wilick even wore a tie. He was originally tall and sturdy, so he looked even more dignified in this outfit. But he was accustomed to living in the streets, and it made him feel extremely uncomfortable to be dressed like this.
Just thinking about the people he was going to deal with tonight, William would have to endure it no matter how uncomfortable it was.
He could not forget Qiya's eyes that had lost their divine colors, nor could he forget her back that was curled up in a corner and sobbing. The fire of hatred burned brightly, and William was like a wild wolf that wanted to devour people, killing intent surging in his eyes.
Alan walked in with his saber in his hand and darkened into the Twilight Gate, so tired that the two attendants nervously followed behind him, afraid that Alan would come to cause trouble.
He had indeed come to stir up trouble tonight, but not yet, so he casually tossed two notes to one of the attendants: "Give us a card seat."
The waiter smiled and said, "Young Master is very familiar. Is this your first time in Twilight? We have rules here. A card seat can't be used by anyone …"
Before he could finish speaking, Alan had already flipped his palm and wore Beth Cod's silver ring. The waiter immediately changed his tone, "So it's Beth Cod's young master, please follow me."
Twilight, as a high-end entertainment venue in Babylon, was naturally familiar with the emblems of the various great clans. Only by using this to distinguish her identity would she not offend others without knowing it. The silver ring in Allen's hand was a symbol of status. Even if he wasn't a regular guest of the bar, he would still be treated as a guest of honor. Even though Twilight truly respected the silver ring and the family it represented, not Allen himself.
No matter what, he and Wilick still got an elegant card seat. Alan casually ordered some wine to drink and waited for the wine to be served. "Our good friend, Young Master Vincent, will come over later. Please take him to the neighboring card seat. I want to surprise him, you know, a little joke between friends." Alan shoved a few more notes at the waiter.
After the waiter left, he and Wilick were the only ones left in the booth.
Willie clark pulled his tie, which was choking him. "Are you sure Vincent will be here tonight?"
"Of course, Josh will also come. Don't worry."
"Where did you hear the news?"
"A reliable friend." Alan rubbed his eyebrows when he thought of how he had squeezed a little thing out of him and laughed like a little fox.
Since Alan had already said that, William did not continue to pursue the matter. Not long after, Vincent and Josh arrived, followed by a group of noble children. Alan saw Vincent's smiling face through the gap between the curtains. He sat quietly back in his seat and drank the cocktails that Twilight had offered him.
Josh was the most excited of the crowd when Vincent and his group were taken to a card seat next to Allen's. There were always visible and invisible circles among the nobles, and tonight, Josh would enter Vincent's circle. He knew very well that if he wanted to take down his brothers in the clan, it would be far from enough to rely solely on his own strength. But with Vincent and the help of his friends, he was closer to his goal.
Everyone sat down and served the wine. Vincent patted Josh on the shoulder and said, "Here, let me introduce you. This is Josh from the Weimes family. Josh is a romantic guy. He just fucked a hot woman last night. Come on, we'll play together in the future. We'll all be good friends after drinking this glass of wine."
After three rounds of drinking.
One of the teenagers chuckled and said, "Vincent, I wonder how you've been doing against that kid Allen lately?"
Vincent coughed dryly. He remembered that he had a bad start a few days ago and said awkwardly, "Almost."
Suddenly, a calm voice floated over from the seat next to him. "Good evening, Vincent and Josh."
The other teenagers were confused, but Vincent and Josh's expressions changed at the same time. Especially Josh, who looked like he had seen a ghost. The voice added, "Josh, you used my trust to conspire with Vincent to deceive me into the Old Oak Bar. Then you used outsiders to kill me, and then you could treat it as an accident in a bar fight. I have to say, you guys did a beautiful job in this game."
Hearing those words, the youth beside him looked at Vincent and Josh with a strange gaze. After all, there was an invisible bottom line amongst the nobles. Obviously, if Vincent and the others really did this, they would have already crossed the bottom line.
Vincent was fine. Josh couldn't sit still anymore. He stood up and said, "Don't talk nonsense, Ellen. It was just an accident that night. Didn't I get beaten up?"
"That's because Young Master Vincent took care of you in advance. Otherwise, you wouldn't have been punched so easily." Another voice sounded, "Didn't Young Master Vincent want to find me afterwards? Right now, I'm here!"
Vincent finally exclaimed, "William?"
'"That's right, Young Master Vincent's money is indeed not so easy to take. After giving me the money, I'll turn around and find someone to deal with me. If I hadn't run fast, I would probably have cursed you in hell now, right?" William said coldly.
Hearing this, the other teenagers probably already knew a rough idea. Their gazes at Vincent became complicated, and some even shook their heads.
In fact, that bottom line was not necessarily sacred and inviolable. But if you cross the line, you must do well and never leave any hands behind. As Vincent was now, he had crossed the bottom line and allowed the other party to live a good life. After exposing Vincent's background in front of everyone else, no matter what, the evaluation of Vincent within the clan would only be depressed and not raised.
At this moment, Alan added another potion, "Young Master Josh, while you're enjoying your time here drinking and chatting, I'm sure Wilick's video of his confession has been delivered to your family." Your brothers will probably be happy to make a big deal out of this. If I were you, get the hell out of here right now. I might be able to save something before that video works. "
Josh's face instantly turned ashen. Once this matter exploded, he would suffer a heavy blow. After all, not only did he ignore that bottom line, he also offended the characters in Beth Cord. Under such circumstances, he naturally wouldn't expect the clan to have a good opinion of him. Thinking of his dim future, Josh lost his rationality and threw himself at the seat next to him with a low roar.
Vincent's expression was unsightly. Josh was too fast to react even if he wanted to stop him. As for Josh's actions, he was even more convinced of Alan's words. If he wasn't guilty, why would he have reacted so fiercely?
A series of muffled noises sounded out from the neighboring seats, mixed with the sounds of blunt objects striking, fists and flesh, causing the youths on Vincent's side to be frightened. The sound of splitting brocade rang out, but the partitioned veil shattered. Josh flew out of the card socket and rolled into the corridor, scaring the girls who were passing by into screaming.
In Twilight Bar, people finally noticed the disturbance.
Alan walked out of the deck and shouted with his silver ring, "This is Beth Cod's internal affair. Please don't interfere. As for the damage caused, I will be responsible for it."
Hearing what he said, the bar manager who wanted to intervene could only retreat with a bitter smile. First, Allen promised compensation. Second, it was Beth Cord's internal dispute. Naturally, Twilight was not the time to interfere.
Josh had really fainted this time. He was so excited that he had long forgotten all about the battle techniques and seals. The card that pounced on Ellen was knocked a few times by Ellen's scabbard, and most of them were beaten up by Wilick. From Zia's mouth, Welik knew that Vincent was in charge, and Josh was the one who attacked Zia. If Alan hadn't given Josh a kick and kicked him out of the deck, he would have been killed by Wilick.
That was not what Alan wanted to see. After all, this was a public place. Wilick Ruo had publicly killed Josh, but he couldn't protect him.
Wilick gasped for breath, feeling as if he was about to die. Alan crossed his scabbard to stop him from pursuing him from his seat.
"Calm down." Alan shouted softly.
William took a deep breath and nodded.
Alan looked at his neighbor and said, "Vincent, don't you always want to deal with me? I'll give you a chance to fight me here. Of course, if you're scared, scram immediately and don't appear in my sight again. Otherwise, just settle our business tonight!"
Vincent was in a dilemma.
Alan's words were as tyrannical and sharp as his saber. If he didn't attack, he would directly attack the vital points. First, he broke through Vincent's cross-border behavior, and Allen had already taken up the word'reason '. Now, he was provoking him into the next battle, so it wasn't right for Vincent to agree, let alone reject him.
Most importantly, Allen had invited him to battle on the spot. With so many pairs of eyes watching, if Vincent refused, he wouldn't be able to raise his head in the clan in the future. Finally, Vincent poured a large glass of beer into his stomach. He dropped his glass and stood up, "You're courting death!"
The public area of the bar had been cleared out, and many tables and chairs had been moved out of place. Along with that, some of the guests had to move out of their seats, so the space they had left would naturally be used for the duel between the two of them. This caused some inconvenience to the guests, but they knew that the opponents were from Bescord. The guests did not object, but looked forward to it.
Alan stood there with his saber in his arms, his posture calm. Although he was young, he had left a deep impression on the onlookers. On the other hand, Vincent's eyes were red, and his manic appearance caused people to shake their heads endlessly.
The gazes of the people in the bar fell on Allen and the other two, so when Cordoff brought the two girls into the bar, even the waiter forgot to come forward to greet them. He looked at the crowd in the public area and muttered, "What's going on?"
Then, he left the two girls behind and squeezed into the crowd. Seeing Alan and Vincent confronting each other, Kodorf's expression changed. Then, he smiled bitterly, "How did this idiot Vincent duel with Alan?"
