Chapter 15: On Babylon
Alan had never been more reserved.
He sat in his seat with his head lowered and his gaze sweeping back and forth between his feet. A gentle and soft voice could be heard in his ears.
"Who saw my nail polish? Oh my God, if they don't show up, my poor nails will soon lose their luster."
"Oh, my God. Didn't I tell you that clothes must be ironed well? It's called the quality of life. Quality, understand? You vulgar fellows."
A man muttered, and suddenly a finger touched Allen's chin, and he raised the youth's head. So a man with eyeliner, eyeshadow, false eyelashes and lipstick ran into Allen's eyes. When he saw this face, Alan had the urge to dig out his eyes.
"Oh, baby. Why are you looking so sullen? Toto told you that Babylon is coming. Come on, be happy." The man blinked his eyes. The lip gloss on his mouth was so close that it almost touched Ellen's face.
Alan clenched his teeth and gave off a "chuckle" because he exerted too much force. He had already reached out his hand to grab Kuang Tu who was standing beside him, and a loud voice shouted in his heart, "Let me slash this human demon with a single saber!"
Of course he couldn't cut through it.
Not to mention that this damned human demon was the federal government official who lured him to Babylon, just because he and Ron were both second lieutenants, they were no match for the current Allen. The youth was also thinking about it in his mind, but this damn face was too close. Alan did not dare to guarantee that he would lose his mind in the next moment.
Second Lieutenant Tonislaw had some special "hobbies". One of the most serious was to disguise himself as a woman. He wore golden Rococo curls, a well-tailored fur-collar gown, and a pair of tight trousers with purple high heels embedded in diamonds!
When he saw him for the first time, Allen thought of the fact that all the people in Babylon were sick, and that they were very sick.
Of course, only Tonislaw was sick. Oh, he prefers to call himself "toto".
Allen was currently on a medium-sized transport airship, which was divided into two types: manned and loaded. The airship they were on was manned, and the cabin was much more spacious than the patrol ship used for the previous assessment. It could accommodate 50 people at the same time. However, this space had already been converted into a private bar-like deck. Inside the automatic door was an arc-shaped bar with goblets hanging all over it and a wine cabinet at the back filled with whisky and brandy.
The ground was made of tempered glass, and the surface was ground. Therefore, when the lights came up, they would create a hazy halo in the space, making the atmosphere in the cabin seem somewhat ambiguous.
A magnificent and luxurious crystal main lamp on the dome didn't necessarily shake even when flying high up in the sky. On the opposite side of the hatch was a portrait of Tonislaw. The painting was brightly colored and brightly lit, and Tonislaw smiled charmingly, so charming that one had the urge to tear the painting to pieces.
'"Alright, baby. Let's confirm the process" Tonislaw reached out and someone put a square object in his hand.
Tonislaw tapped on it, and this thing had a picture. Alan had just learned yesterday that this thing was called the Wise Brain. The Second Lieutenant of the Human Demon told him that this thing could help people deal with the big and small matters of life. Alan had never seen such a thing before, and ever since he came into contact with Tonislaw, these new things had appeared endlessly.
The lieutenant flicked his finger across the screen and said, "We're going to dock at Statue of Liberty, and, uh, the other boroughs are going to apply for docking there as well." At that time, you and the other contestants will receive a grand welcoming ceremony. Tens of thousands of Babylonians will welcome you and pay attention to you along the way from Goddess Harbor to the training base! "
"Well, there's still an hour before we arrive at the port. What, there's only an hour left?" The second lieutenant threw away Zhi Nao and shrieked like a neurotic woman. He jumped up and shouted, "Quick, change our baby into new clothes."
Alan frowned and looked at himself in the leather jacket that Ron had given him. "I have clothes."
'"Clothes? Oh my God, they're just a bunch of cheap leather sewn together. They don't even fit! If you wear something like that on the stage, my face will be shamed by you. People will say, Look, the beautiful and noble Toto has lured a wild child back from District 13! No, absolutely not!" Tonislaw burst forth with a huge aura. His eyes, which were painted with eye shadows, almost spat out fire. "You must come out perfectly, decent and noble. This is the quality I need, not this tattered military jacket on you!"
"Quality!" Again, Second Lieutenant Demon walked out of the cabin and shouted in the corridor outside, "Ethan! You bastard, quickly get the clothes I prepared for the treasure. I'll give you ten seconds!"
A moment later, a handsome young man ran into the cabin in panic. He was holding a silver-gray suitcase in his hand. Tonislaw snatched the suitcase over and put it on his seat to open it. A clothes rack automatically rose from the inside. On the rack was a black suit. In addition to the jacket and trousers, other accessories were included in the box. From shirts inside to leather shoes in the same color to lace necklaces and leather belts.
Looking at Alan, Tonislaw ordered, "Put it on!"
"Here?"
"That's right!"
When Alan took off all his clothes and only had one pair of underwear left, Tonislaw's eyes lit up. "Look at the symmetrical muscles and the perfect proportions. Darling, you're so beautiful …"
The second lieutenant even pinched Ellen's butt. The youth's pupils dilated, and he almost lost his mind and slashed the pervert with a knife! In the end, he chose to wear a suit. When he stood in front of the mirror, Alan could hardly recognize himself in the mirror.
The white turtleneck shirt and black suit go together, but the two simple colors collide to create the simplest beauty. The waistline, narrow sleeves, and collar made Ellen turn around from a wild child, giving him a bit of luxury. Together with his increasingly exquisite outline, his bright red eyes, and his proud silver hair, Tonislaw liked it more and more.
"My little beauty, come over here. You're so beautiful. I bet those guys will go crazy for you if they see you. You're simply …" Tonislaw circled the air with his fingers before swinging down, "Superstar! That's right, you're going to be the superstar in their hearts!"
"Second Lieutenant, his hair" reminded Ethan, the assistant beside him.
Tonislaw patted his head and said, "Damn it, I almost forgot this important part."
The second lieutenant took a pair of silver scissors from his assistant and began to finish Allen's design. During his six months in the camp, Allen didn't have time to pay attention to his hair, so he found it was getting longer before he entered the camp. Now, as silver hair drifted down under the second lieutenant's scissors, shaping Alan's hair, Tonislaw said, "Listen, baby. You and the children of the other districts will be guided by a mentor for a month. A month later, the death arena would begin. I've already seen it. Your mentor is Hughton. This old man used to be a major general, but he was also a master of weapons. My advice to you is that you should do exactly what Old Man Hughton told you to do. "
Alan thought to himself that this fellow had finally said something useful.
"Alright."
When Tonislaw put down the scissors, Alan's broken hair was gone from the mirror. The second lieutenant gave him a simple but masculine haircut. Even Alan had to admit that he looked much better now than before.
At this time, the announcement in the cabin rang. In 10 minutes, the airship was about to arrive at Hong Kong!
Everyone returned to their seats and fastened their seat belts. After completing these tasks, the porthole panel in front of Allen opened. This was a rectangular window, enough for the youth to see clearly what was happening outside.
The first thing he saw was blue sky and clouds. Suddenly, a slanted piece of land crashed into Allen's field of vision. On the ground, there were countless buildings that almost drowned the horizon, but this steel city was located at a height of nearly a thousand meters above the ground!
This was Babylon's floating island, humanity's greatest creation after the Battle of Dawn.
The magical flying ship began to fly obliquely over Babylon, allowing the people in the cabin to see countless magnificent buildings on the ground. Below were towering buildings, a complex road system, large green belts, and square-shaped plazas. These were just the tip of Babylon's iceberg. On this Texas-sized island floating in the air, nearly 700,000 square kilometers of land is covered with forests, canyons, rivers and mountains!
When the airship began to descend at a horizontal angle to the ground, Allen saw a steeple on the horizon. It rose from the horizon, its sharp spires pointing straight at the clouds. Although it was only a blurry silhouette, it revealed a dignified and magnificent aura.
'"That's the obelisk of the Magic Cube, the heart of Babylon. The most advanced means of energy use is to convert the origin power of the universe into the blood that supplies the floating islands. Without it, there would be no Babylon, no present and no future for mankind!" Tonislaw said with a rare solemn tone. There was something special in his gaze as he looked at the horizon.
That kind of thing was called reverence!
